NAYA ALHASAN (8)

(Astrologer, Shakespeare’s Crowd)

Naya is very excited to be a part of Something Rotten Jr. this year! She has participated in many Oakwood productions before and is looking forward to another great show. Naya loves working with her peers and is excited to support everyone while having fun. She always tries to bring positivity to those around her. She would like to thank her amazing and talented castmates, as well as her teachers, for all their help. Enjoy the show!

HANNAH BABAYAN (8)

(Francis Flute Puritan 1)

Hannah is an 8th-grade student who is very excited to be part of this year’s middle school musical. She has participated in many Oakwood productions as well as performances outside of school. When she isn’t performing, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. In her spare time, Hannah also loves figure skating and playing volleyball. She is thrilled for you to see this performance of Something Rotten Jr. Enjoy the show!

KARISMA BANWAIT (8)

(Ensemble, Soloist)

Karisma is an 8th-grade student and is beyond excited to be a part of the middle school musical. Her previous stage performances include Newsies Jr. Aside from performing, Karisma loves playing competitive volleyball and creating arts and crafts. She hopes you enjoy Something Rotten Jr.!

MILES CALVERT (8) (Shylock)

Miles is in 8th grade and is excited to be part of the middle school musical this year! Last year, he played the “Vicar” in The Canterville Ghost, and this year, he’s thrilled to take on the role of “Shylock”. In his free time, Miles enjoys playing guitar and video games. He’s looking forward to another great production!

MELINDA DUONG (8)

(Puritan 4, Fortune Teller, Ensemble)

Melinda is an 8th-grade student who is excited to be part of Something Rotten Jr.! Her previous experiences include performing with Harmonics, singing in a group, and playing “Scab 4” in Newsies Jr. While she loves performing, she also enjoys crafts and biking in her free time. She is excited to do her best for her family and friends. Enjoy the show!

CHARLOTTE HOLTER (8) (Nostradamus)

Charlotte is excited to be in this year’s Oakwood Middle School production of Something Rotten Jr.! She loves making people laugh and smile. Her past performances include Harmonics in eighth grade and Rock and Percussion Ensemble in seventh grade. In her free time, Charlotte enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball with her friends, as well as crocheting and singing. She hopes you enjoy the show!

SANYA KHAN (8) (Minstrel,

Troupe Member)

Sanya is an 8th grader and is very excited to be part of Something Rotten Jr.! Her previous stage performances include The Little Mermaid Jr. and Newsies Jr. At school, her favorite class is Literature, and she enjoys Stagecraft. Outside of performing, Sanya loves traveling, playing squash, baking, and reading. She would like to dedicate her performance to her family and friends. Enjoy the show!

NOAH MORGAN (8) (Brother Jerimaiah)

Noah is a 14-year-old with a passion for swimming, basketball, and gaming. Whether he’s making waves in the pool, sinking shots on the court, or leveling up in his favorite video games, he’s always on the move. A natural competitor with a laid-back vibe, Noah enjoys balancing his active hobbies with his love for digital worlds. In Something Rotten Jr., he brings energy and enthusiasm, making every challenge look effortless.

SHAYLA OSSWALD-IMBROGNO (8) (Bea)

Shayla is an 8th-grade student who is very excited to be a part of this year’s middle school musical. Her previous stage performances include Mary Poppins Jr. and Newsies Jr. Outside of performing, Shayla enjoys horseback riding, playing volleyball, creating art, and spending time with friends. She is very excited for everyone to see the show. Enjoy!

MIRIAM SHEM-TOV (8) (Nick Bottom)

Miriam is beyond excited to portray “Nick Bottom”! She has performed in over 40 productions. Some of her favorite recent roles include “Buttons” in Newsies Jr. (Oakwood), “Woodstock” in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown at Pintello, “Ugly Duckling” in Honk Jr., and “Billy Jr.” in On Golden Pond. Miriam loves crocheting and filling her schedule with as much theater as possible. She can’t wait for you to see this production because, after all, there’s nothing as amazing as a musical!

RENA SINGH (8) (Snug)

Rena is beyond excited to be in her third middle school musical, Something Rotten Jr.! After performing in Mary Poppins Jr. and Newsies Jr., she’s thrilled to be back on stage, sharing her love for movement once again. She loves to dance and sing and has been playing piano for the past 10 years! In her free time, Rena enjoys expressing her creativity through art. She can’t wait for you to enjoy the show as much as she has enjoyed bringing it to life!

VANESSA TABUCHI (8) (Peter Quince)

Vanessa is an 8th-grade student who is thrilled to be part of her first Oakwood musical this year! Her previous performances include The Aristocats Jr. and Oakwood Harmonics. Vanessa loves both performing and visual arts and enjoys writing and painting. When she’s not at school, she loves spending time with friends and family, baking, and being outdoors. She hopes you enjoy the show because there’s nothing as amazing as this musical!

ZOE WANG (8) (Troupe Member)

Zoe is in 8th grade and excited to be part of this year’s musical, Something Rotten Jr.! She has previously performed in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Oakwood Harmonics. In her free time, she loves crocheting and creating art. She also enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors with her family. Zoe hopes you enjoy the show!

RYAN WILLIAMS (8) (Lord Clapham)

Ryan Williams is an 8th-grade student who is thrilled to be part of the middle school musical! This is his stage debut, and he’s excited for the opportunity. At school, he plays on the basketball and flag football teams. Outside of performing, he enjoys traveling and playing sports. Ryan hopes the audience loves this production as much as he has enjoyed working on it. Enjoy the show!

CLEMENS ARNOLD (7) (Robin Starveling)

Clemens is very excited for the upcoming performance! He has been at Oakwood for three years and loves basketball and skiing. He previously performed in Newsies Jr. and The Canterville Ghost and has been dancing for about eight years. Clemens is thrilled to be part of both the tech crew and theater, as he is fascinated by both onstage and backstage work. He hopes you enjoy the show!

AKSHARA AVINASH (7) (Valet,

Dance Troupe)

Akshara is excited to be part of the middle school musical, Something Rotten Jr.! Inspired by her friends’ performances, she previously played the “Mad Hatter” in Alice in Wonderland. She is active in volleyball and basketball and has a passion for dance, practicing Bharatanatyam and Bollywood. Akshara dedicates her performance to her family and friends, especially thanking her parents for their unwavering support. Enjoy the show!

CHARLOTTE BERISHA (7)

(Minstrel Trio, Puritan, Shakespeare’s Crowd)

Charlotte Berisha is a seventh grader with a passion for performing and swimming. She has appeared in Newsies Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., and The Canterville Ghost and has taken vocal lessons for two years. A two-year member of Harmonics, Charlotte continues to grow as a singer. She has also been swimming competitively since age six, always embracing challenges with creativity and dedication.

LYNDL BURKE (7)

(Shakespeare’s Crowd, Grim Reaper)

Lyndl is thrilled to be part of this production of Something Rotten Jr.! In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, making art, and spending time with her friends. This is not her first production, and she is excited to be back on stage. She wants to thank her parents and friends for their support throughout this experience. Lyndl hopes you enjoy the show!

SINE FLEIZACH (7)

(Foreman, Grim Reaper, Puritan)

Sine has been in previous productions, including Willy Wonka Jr. and Bots Jr. Outside of performing, he plays multiple sports and enjoys playing the guitar. In his free time, he loves traveling and playing games with his friends. He hopes you enjoy the production and is dedicating his performance to his parents.

ERIC GASPARYAN (7)

(Doorman, Grim Reaper, Shakespeare’s Crowd)

Eric loves spending time playing games with his good friends. When he’s not gaming, you can probably find him in the kitchen, baking up something delicious or experimenting with new recipes. He’s super excited to be part of Something Rotten Jr. and hopes you enjoy the show!

LANDON HANSOTTE (7) (Nigel

Bottom)

Landon has never been in a play before but has onstage experience. He has performed in various musical concerts and feels comfortable on stage. He has enjoyed past middle school musicals and is excited to be a part of what makes this one great. Most people don’t know that Landon is skilled at improv and was also a Boy Scout. He hopes to contribute to the production in a meaningful way and that the audience enjoys his performance.

ANIKA JAIN (7) (Puritan,

Dance Troupe)

Anika is a 7th-grade student and is very excited to be part of the middle school musical! At school, she is a member of the Robotics Team. Outside of performing, Anika enjoys traveling, riding roller coasters, and playing piano. She would like to dedicate her performance to her family and friends. Enjoy the show!

AURORA MATZ (7)

(Puritan 2, Dance Troupe)

Aurora is a 7th-grade student who is very excited to perform in this year’s musical! She has been in several productions, including Willy Wonka Jr. and Newsies Jr. Aurora also loves drawing, baking, and crafting. She hopes everyone enjoys the show as much as she loves cats!

SERENA NGUYEN (7) (Tom

Snout)

Serena has participated in past productions, including B.O.T.S. and Newsies Jr., where she played her favorite character, “Les”. She loves reading, playing the piano, gymnastics, and volleyball. Fun fact: she once met the California senator and the mayor of San Jose while volunteering for her mom’s charity. She would like to thank her family for their love and support. Serena is very excited to be part of this production and hopes everyone enjoys the show!

ETHAN NGUYEN (7)

(Announcer, Puritan, Shakespear’s Crowd)

Ethan is extremely excited to be part of the middle school musical! Previously, he performed in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Newsies Jr.. At school, he has been on the flag football and basketball teams. Outside of performing, Ethan enjoys playing piano and guitar, traveling, and practicing karate. He is a second-degree black belt and is working toward his third.

NAOMI PASSAPERA (7)

(Minstrel, Dance Troupe)

Naomi is excited to perform in Something Rotten Jr.! She loves the performing arts, especially singing, acting, and dancing. Outside of theater, Naomi enjoys painting, sketching, and pottery. She loves spending time with her two cats and reading stories—about cats. She also enjoys playing video games, snacking, and following whatever creative idea pops into her head. Enjoy the show!

ARIANNA SAFFARIAN (7)

(Horatio, Puritan, Shakespeare’s Crowd)

Arianna is a 7th grader and is very excited to be part of the middle school musical! Her previous performances include Newsies Jr. and Willy Wonka Jr. Outside of theater, she enjoys playing tennis, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Arianna hopes you enjoy the show!

EMMA TAYLOR (7)

(Portia)

Emma is a 7th-grade student who is delighted to be in the cast of Something Rotten Jr. She has previously performed in Willy Wonka Jr. and Newsies Jr., both at Oakwood. When she isn’t on stage, Emma takes piano, voice, and ukulele lessons and attends an immersive Japanese language school every Saturday. Some of her hobbies include baking, cooking, and drawing. She hopes you enjoy the show!

MARIA TITI (7)

(Puritan, Shakespeare’s Crowd)

Maria is a 7th-grade student and is very excited to be in Something Rotten Jr.! She loved performing in Newsies Jr. and also participated in a few other productions in elementary school. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, sewing, and skiing. Maria hopes you enjoy the show!

GABRIELLA YOUNG (7)

(Town Solo 3, Puritan, Fortune Teller)

Gabriella is excited to be a part of the middle school musical. At school, she plays volleyball and is a member of the North Coast Volleyball Club. She also enjoys spending time with her friends. Outside of school, Gabriella loves spending time with her family, playing with her dog, and expressing her creativity through crafts. She would like to dedicate her performance to her family and friends.

JOYCE ZHANG (7)

(Panicked Woman, Grim Reaper, Shakespeare’s Crowd)

Joyce is a 7th-grade student who is excited to be a part of the middle school musical, Something Rotten Jr.! Her previous performances include Willy Wonka. At school, she is a member of the girls’ volleyball and basketball teams. Aside from performing, Joyce enjoys drawing and listening to music. She hopes you enjoy the show!

BRANDT BANKS (6) (Shakespeare)

Brandt, with his boundless imagination and love for all things Batman, brings sharp wit and a deep, resonant charm to every scene. His ideas seamlessly blend into the story, creating moments you can only imagine!

HUNTER BELLIVEAU (6) (Messenger)

Hunter is an enthusiastic learner who loves to act. He has been in five shows in the past. He also has a lot of experience in fencing and drumming, making him the go-to stage fighter. He lives in Gilroy and is always open to acting!

KRISZTIAN KOCSIS (6) (Grim

Reaper, Fruit Seller)

Krisztian is a 6th-grade student and is honored to be part of the middle school musical! He previously had theater experience in 5th grade here at Oakwood, where he performed in The Grunch as “Alex,” the piano player. Krisztian loves all things dog-related and is skilled at sports. He would like to dedicate his performance to his family and, of course, his two dogs. Enjoy the spectacle!

SERAPHINA PENG (6)

(Dance Troupe, Town Solo)

Seraphina is a 6th grader at Oakwood who enjoys acting. She has been a child actor on the show My Reading Bakery on Good TV in Taiwan since first grade. Outside of performing, Seraphina enjoys playing volleyball, doing gymnastics, and spending time with her friends. She would like to dedicate her performance to her family and friends. Enjoy the show!

ADDISON SLABAUGH (6)

(Sad Little Egg, Ensemble)

Addison loves to learn new things and explore other interests. Addie is passionate about theater and has been in shows such as The Grunch in 5th grade, The Claw in 4th grade, and many more. In her free time, Addie enjoys horseback riding, art, volleyball, and more. She loves math and writing at school and enjoys hanging out with her friends.

ARYAN THIARA (6)

(Eyepatch Man, Grim Reaper, Shakespeare’s Crowd)

Aryan is looking forward to the middle school musical, Something Rotten Jr. While he doesn’t have much experience on stage for musicals, he has been in two plays: The Claw in 4th grade and The Grunch in 5th grade. At school, Aryan has played flag football, soccer, and will soon be starting basketball. Aryan’s favorite hobby is watching football games with his parents.

KEITH HAYDEN (Master of Justice)

Keith Hayden has been teaching middle school science at Oakwood School for more than 15 years. His previous stage performances include The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and Newsies Jr. Mr. Hayden is honored to share the stage with his students once again in another amazing production by the drama department. He hopes that the dedication and the passion of cast, crew, and directors shines through for all who attend!

NATHAN EMATA (8)

(Stage Manager)

Nathan is an 8th-grade student and is very excited to be part of Something Rotten Jr.! He enjoyed working backstage for Newsies Jr. and is looking forward to this show. Nathan’s favorite subject is history. Besides theater, he enjoys playing volleyball, sewing, traveling, and going to concerts. Enjoy the show!

JAYDEN NGUYEN (7)

(Props Manager)

Jayden is in 7th grade and loves playing soccer, video games (when he has time), and spending time with family and friends. Although he has been in four other musical performances, this is his first time working offstage instead of on it. These include Bots, Schoolhouse Rock, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and most recently, Newsies Jr.! He hopes you enjoy the musical that Oakwood’s Middle School Performing Arts has to offer!

ADE WONG (6)

(Front of House Assistant)

Ade is a 6th-grade student and is very excited to be part of the middle school musical! Her previous stage performances include The Claw and The Grunch. Aside from performing, Ade enjoys hanging out with her friends, staying home, and loves In-N-Out. She also loves animals, especially dogs and cats.

STAFF BIOS

COLLEEN BLANCHARD (Director)

Colleen is the Upper School Drama teacher and Performing Arts Head at Oakwood School. She has been directing shows in the Bay Area over the past 25 years for several community theater organizations, elementary schools, Gavilan College, and Gilroy Recreation. Colleen is so proud of all the hard work and dedication the middle school students have put into this production of Something Rotten, Jr.

MACY SORENSEN (Vocal Director)

Mrs. Sorensen is thrilled to have been a part of this incredible production! She has directed over 17 shows and served as the music director for over 9, helping students grow as musicians and performers in each one. When she’s not making music, she enjoys going to the beach, playing with her dog, Sven, and listening to Taylor Swift on repeat. She is so proud of the cast and hopes you enjoy this “bright and shiny, mighty fine-y” musical!

CHRISTINE CARILLO (Choreographer)

Christine is a Junior Kindergarten teacher and the middle and high school choreographer with OPVA. She is a long-time member and choreographer of SVCT, where she has won numerous awards for her work with the teen shows. This season she directed SVCT’s children’s show; Finding Nemo. Christine finds enjoyment working with some of her former Junior Kindergarten students who are now on the middle school stage.

SKYE TAYLOR (Tech

Director)

Ms Skye is honored to be a part of Oakwood Performing & Visual Arts and grateful for the opportunity to work with Ms. Blanchard. She is so impressed with all the members of the Middle School cast and crew of Something Rotten Jr. This is such a fun show and they are bringing so much joy to the production! Go Team!

CATE PACE (12) (Student Director)

Cate is a Senior at Oakwood and has been acting since second grade and has been this class’s teacher assistant, and has helped choreograph and direct scenes. After High school, Cate plans on going to a BYU college to become an RN Nurse, her dream since middle school. She enjoys singing, guitar, songwriting, and acting. Cate is very excited for you to see the performance, and hopes you enjoy the show!
