STAFF BIOS

Colleen Blanchard Theater Arts Director & Performing Arts Department Chair

Colleen is the Upper School Drama teacher and Performing Arts Head at Oakwood School, where she has had the pleasure of working alongside an imaginative cast, dedicated crew, and talented team of student designers to bring Alice in Wonderland Jr. to life. She brings over 25 years of directing experience with Bay Area community theaters and schools, and is passionate about fostering creativity and confidence in her classes. She is deeply proud of the collaboration, joy, and hard work her students share on and off the stage.

Macy Sorensen Vocal Director

Mrs. Sorensen is thrilled to have been a part of this incredible production! As the Lower School music teacher here at Oakwood, she loves getting involved in the Middle School as the music director of the musical and as the co-director of The Harmonics. She has directed over 18 shows and served as the music director for over 10, helping students grow as musicians and performers in each one. When she’s not making music, she enjoys going to the beach, playing with her dog, Sven, and listening to Taylor Swift on repeat. She is so proud of the cast and can’t wait for the audience to tumble down the rabbit hole as they watch these incredible performers!

Christine Carrillo Choreographer

Christine is a Jr.Kindergarten teacher and the MS/HS choreographer with OPVA. She is a long-time member and choreographer of SVCT, where she has won numerous awards for her work with the teen shows. This season she choreographed SVCT’s children’s show; Disney’s Descendents, which included students from Oakwood Lower School. Christine finds enjoyment working with some of her former Jr. Kindergarten students who are now on the Middle school stage. Christine is always impressed to see how her former students have blossomed and become confident in their self expression.

Skye Taylor Technical Director

Ms. Skye is grateful for the opportunity to work with the Oakwood Performing Arts department. Being involved in the program is a way to share her passion for the theater. She strongly believes in the cast as a team and loves to watch them discover their talents whether it is on stage or behind the scenes. Thanks to the MS cast and their enthusiasm, Klara and Mrs. Blanchard for this unique production.

Klara Klotzbach Assistant Student Director & Choreographer

Klara is a senior at Oakwood High School and is thrilled to be part of this production. Following her directorial debut of the high school fall play, she loved working with the middle school cast of Alice in Wonderland Jr., teaching choreography, running lines, and getting to know this talented group. Klara plans to continue her passion for theater in college by pursuing a BFA in Musical Theater and would like to thank Mrs. Blanchard for her continued support. She hopes you enjoy the magic of Wonderland as much as she enjoyed helping bring it to life as she enjoyed helping to put it all together.

THE CAST

Clemens Arnold (8) Cheshire Cat #2, Lighting Designer

Clemens is an 8th grader who is thrilled to be part of the Middle School musical. He has previously performed in Newsies Jr. and Something Rotten! Jr. and also took the Rock Rap Pop elective. When he’s not on stage, Clemens enjoys mountain biking and swimming. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Akshara Avinash (8) Queen of Hearts, Student, Caucus Racer

Akshara, plays the Queen of Hearts in this year’s Alice in Wonderland, Jr.. She performed in Something Rotten, Jr. last year and has been involved in Oakwood productions since 5th grade. Her interests include classical dance, Bollywood, and hip-hop. Akshara dedicates this performance to her family and hopes you enjoy the show—and remember, in her kingdom, it’s not all fun and games… so don’t lose your head over it!

Charlotte Berisha (8) White Rabbit

Charlotte is thrilled to hop into Wonderland as the White Rabbit! She has previously appeared in Willy Wonka Jr., Newsies Jr., and Something Rotten! Jr., and has been a proud member of Harmonics for all three years. Outside of theatre, Charlotte is a competitive swimmer and a total book lover who can usually be found reading in her free time. She is so excited to be part of this magical show!

Emily Edelstein (8) Lily, Falling Dancer Solo 2, Tea Party Guest, Student

Emily is an 8th grader and is beyond excited to be part of her first-ever production, Alice in Wonderland Jr., alongside her friends. Outside of school, she enjoys riding her horse, expressing herself through art, and surrounding herself with music. Emily hopes you enjoy the performance!

Brynn Fernandez (8) Camellia, Friend 1, Falling Dancer, Tea Party Guest, Card Guard

Brynn is an 8th grader who is excited to be part of Alice in Wonderland, Jr. this year. This is her first Middle School play, and she has loved being part of the creative process behind the production. Outside of school, Brynn enjoys movies, snacks, and spending time with her two dogs. She hopes you love the show as much as she does!

Sine

Fleizach (8) Tweedle Dum

Sine is excited to be part of the Middle School musical. He has previously performed in productions such as Something Rotten! Jr. Known for his love of matcha and reading, Sine brings humor and confidence to everything he does. He hopes to continue performing and aspires to reach a respectable ranking on the (very unofficial) Chad-o-meter. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Gurmann Gill (8) Iris, Caucus Racer, Tea Party Guest

Gurmann is an 8th grader and is delighted to be part of the Middle School musical Alice in Wonderland Jr. She previously performed in Oakwood School productions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Jr. and The Phantom of the Music Room Jr. Outside of school, Gurmann enjoys playing tennis and singing. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Io Nikas (8) Cheshire Cat #1

Io is excited to be part of the Middle School musical, Alice in Wonderland, Jr. He previously appeared in 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse. Outside of school, Io plays competitive soccer for the OV Toros club and enjoys playing video games, eating candy, and listening to Christian hip-hop artist Forrest Frank. He dedicates this performance to his family.

Landon Hansotte (8) Tweedle Dee, Falling Dancer, Caterpiller Segment

Landon is an 8th grader and is excited to be part of Alice in Wonderland, Jr.. He previously performed as Nigel in Something Rotten! Jr. and enjoys taking on new roles on stage. Outside of theater, Landon likes hanging out with friends, talking, sports, music, photography, gaming, and spending time in nature. Known for his love of matcha and thoughtful reading (often alongside Sine), Landon brings personality and humor to everything he does and hopes you enjoy the show!

Aurora Matz (8) Tall Alice, Falling Dancer

Aurora is thrilled to be part of Alice in Wonderland Jr. this year! She has previously appeared in many Oakwood productions, including Something Rotten! Jr. and Newsies Jr. Outside of performing, Aurora loves to draw, dance, and play volleyball. She hopes you love the show!

Serena

Nguyen (8) Dormouse (2/5 & 2/67/26 performances)

Serena is thrilled to be back on stage while also learning the art of working behind the scenes. She enjoyed playing Les in Newsies Jr. and being part of Something Rotten Jr. Serena’s favorite book series are Harry Potter and The Inheritance Games, and she loves playing piano, volleyball, and perfecting her flips in gymnastics. She would like to thank her family for their support and hopes you enjoy the show!

Carlos Perez (8) March Hare

Carlos is an 8th grader who is thrilled to finally return to the stage after three long years. While this may feel like a comeback, he brings plenty of performance experience from another Oakwood elective, Rock Rap Pop. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Isabella Plata (8) Amaryllis, Caucus Racer, Student, Card Guard

Isabella is a proud member of the Middle School musical cast. She has enjoyed being part of school productions in the past and loves the energy of performing. When she’s not on stage, Isabella enjoys playing tennis, inventing new ideas for class assignments, and hanging out with friends. She hopes this show brings you as much joy as it brought her!

Arianna Saffarian (8) Petunia, Caucus Racer, Dormouse (2/7/26 performance)

Arianna is thrilled to play Petunia in Alice in Wonderland, Jr. An 8th grader, she has previously appeared in Something Rotten! Jr. and Newsies Jr. In her free time, Arianna enjoys playing tennis and hanging out with friends. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Emma Taylor (8) Alice

Emma is an 8th grader and is excited to perform in Alice in Wonderland Jr. Her previous stage credits include Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka Jr., Spot Conlon in Newsies Jr., and Portia in Something Rotten! Jr. When she isn’t on stage, Emma studies piano and voice and enjoys baking, playing video games, creating art, and spending time with friends. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Maria Titi (8) Mathilda

Maria is an 8th grader and is very excited to be part of Alice in Wonderland Jr. this year. She has recently appeared in Something Rotten! Jr. and Newsies Jr. Outside of school, Maria enjoys competitive skiing, playing volleyball, and crocheting. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Gabriella Young (8) Cheshire Cat #4,

Gabby is very excited to be part of the production both on and off stage. She has been involved in the musical program for all three years. You may recognize her from Something Rotten! Jr. as a Fortune Teller or from Alice in Wonderland, Jr. as Cheshire Cat 4. Gabby enjoys hanging out with friends and dedicates this performance to her close friends who have helped her along the way. She hopes you enjoy the wonderful show!

Joyce Zhang (8) Zinnia, Friend 2,Student, Falling Dancer, Royal Card

Joyce is an 8th grader and is excited to be part of the Middle School musical. She has previously performed in Something Rotten! Jr. and Willy Wonka Jr. Joyce loves art and has been a member of both the volleyball and basketball teams. She hopes you’ll love Alice in Wonderland Jr. as much as she does!

Brandt Banks (7) Mad Hatter

Brandt Banks is a performer who recently appeared in Something Rotten! Jr., bringing enthusiasm, confidence, and a whole lot of personality to the stage. Known for his strong presence and fearless commitment, Brandt jumps into every role with energy and heart. Whether he’s singing, acting, or making the cast laugh backstage, he’s awesome and loves every minute of being part of theater.

Krisztian Kocsis (7) King of Hearts

Krisztian is honored to be part of the musical. He previously performed in Something Rotten! Jr. Academically, Krisztian loves math and is a member of the 7th grade soccer team. Outside of school, he enjoys playing soccer, cooking and baking, and spending time with dogs. He is grateful for the opportunity and excited to be part of the show.

Eli Morgan (7) Mock Turtle

Eli is a 7th grader and is ecstatic to be part of this year’s musical. He has been in many other productions, but this is his first time performing in Alice in Wonderland Jr. At school, Eli plays on the Oakwood Hawks basketball team. He enjoys spending time with pets and playing video games, and he hopes you have a great time watching the performance!

Seraphina Peng (7) Daisy,Student,Dancer Soloist 6,Tea Guest,Card Guard

Seraphina is a 7th grader who loves performing and is excited to be part of Alice in Wonderland, Jr. She appeared in the Star of Artists production of Go Back Home at age seven and has also worked as a child actor on a television show in Taiwan since first grade. She is excited to perform with her friends and hopes you enjoy the show.

Ainsley Reys (7) Rose, Student, Solo 4, Makeup, Costumes

Ainsley is 12 years old and has been in several productions, including Descendants, The Music Man, and The Claw, among others. At school, she enjoys literature and writing. Outside of school, Ainsley loves spending time with her friends, family, and cats—and occasionally annoying her brother, who is currently a freshman at Oakwood. She hopes you enjoy this production of Alice in Wonderland, Jr.

Addison Slabaugh

(7) Cheshire Cat #3

Addie is a 7th-grade theatrical wonder who loves performing in Oakwood productions. She has participated in past shows such as Something Rotten Jr. and 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse. Addie also takes part in volleyball and horseback riding, giving her a well-rounded set of skills. She is delighted to be part of this upcoming show and dedicates her performance to her family and dearest friends.

Aryan Thiara (7) Knave of Hearts

Aryan Thiara is a 7th grader and is excited to be part of the Middle School musical. He previously performed in Something Rotten! Jr. at school. Outside of performing, Aryan enjoys watching football with his family, playing basketball outside, traveling the world, and gaming. He can’t wait to get on stage!

Tara Wilmot (7) Doorknob

Tara is a 7th grader who is extremely excited to be part of Alice in Wonderland, Jr. She has previously performed in Harmonics and a few other musicals. Outside of school, ara enjoys playing soccer and hanging out with friends. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Hamilton Blanchard (6) Bill the Lizard

Hamilton is excited to be part of his first Middle School production. He previously performed in The Wizard of Oz with Oakwood’s High School and has also enjoyed other roles with SVCT and Oakwood’s Lower School theater program. Hamilton is a member of the Oakwood Robotics team. Outside of school, he plays the drums and is currently in candidate training with UAMA as he works toward earning his black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Cameron Bruce (6) Dodo Bird, Caterpillar Segment, Royal Card

Cameron is a 6th grader and is excited to be part of the Middle School musical. He previously performed in Imagine a Dragon and Princess Whatsername at school. Cameron is on the soccer team and also plays in a club league. Outside of performing, he enjoys gaming, soccer, and basketball. He dedicates his performance to his family and friends and hopes you enjoy the show!

Presley Christopher (6) Violet, Tea Party Guest, Falling Dancer, Student Presley is a 6th grader and is thrilled to take the stage. Outside of theater, she enjoys playing volleyball, dancing, and riding her horse, Moonshine. She would like to thank the cast and crew for helping make this an amazing show and experience, and she hopes you enjoy the performance!

Gwen Helvey (6) Peony, Ace of Spades, Student, Falling Dancer Solo 5

Gwen is a 6th grader and is excited to be part of the Middle School musical. She recently performed in Harmonics and enjoyed singing and dancing. Gwen has joined the Middle School volleyball team and liked being part of the Once Upon a Book elective. She loves hanging out with friends, traveling with her family, and taking photos. Gwen hopes to continue performing throughout her years at Oakwood.

Kyler Johnson (6) Three of Diamonds, Caterpillar Segment, Lobster, Student

Kyler is a 6th grader and is grateful to be part of the Middle School musical. He enjoys performing in theater camp each summer and has participated in a total of nine plays. Outside of performing, Kyler enjoys basketball, flag football, video games, and visiting theme parks. He hopes you enjoy the show as much as he has enjoyed being part of it!

Katelyn Kabelac (6) Small Alice

Katelyn is a 6th grader and is very excited to be part of the Middle School musical. She previously performed in the Harmonics group at Oakwood School. Outside of school, she enjoys playing volleyball, chasing her dog, and hanging out with friends. She dedicates her performance to her brother and grandmother and hopes you enjoy the show!

Zane Matz (6) Student, Lobster, Caterpillar Segment, Three of Hearts

Zane is a 6th grader and is excited to be part of the Middle School musical. He previously performed in Princess Whatsername and Imagine a Dragon. Zane enjoys playing video games and building LEGO creations. He is excited for this performance and hopes you are too!

Kellan Ota (6) Caterpillar

Kellan is a 6th grader and is excited to be part of the musical. He has performed in other shows, including Finding Nemo Jr. and The Wizard of Oz. In his free time, he enjoys parkour, drawing, reading, and watching anime. Kellan hopes to do his best in the show and dedicates his hard work to his family and friends who support him.

Zahra Yahya (6) Caterpillar Segment, Four of hearts, Falling Dancer, Student

Zahra is a 6th grader and is excited to be part of the Middle School musical. While she is newer to performing, she is eager to learn and gain more experience. Zahra is on the volleyball team and is beginning to play at North Coast. Outside of the musical, she loves Disneyland, boba, and thrill rides. She dedicates her performance to her friends and family. CUT!

Clemens Arnold (8) Lighting Designer

Clemens is an 8th grader who is thrilled to be part of the Middle School musical. He has previously performed in Newsies Jr. and Something Rotten! Jr., and also took the Rock Rap Pop elective. When he’s not on stage, Clemens enjoys mountain biking and swimming. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Akshara Avinash (8) Set Designer

Akshara has been part of Oakwood productions since 5th grade and enjoys contributing behind the scenes, especially with set design. She previously appeared in Something Rotten, Jr. and brings creativity from her love of classical dance, Bollywood, and hip-hop to each production. Else Deckowski (8) Stage Manager

Else is very excited to serve as the stage manager for this production of Alice in Wonderland, Jr. Last year, she worked backstage on Something Rotten, Jr., helping move set pieces and support the show. Outside of school, Else plays basketball and enjoys many activities. She dedicates her weekends to building the set and ensuring the audience has a great experience.

Eric Gasparyan (8) Lighting Crew

Eric is a curious and driven student with a strong passion for coding, math, and science. He enjoys solving problems, exploring new technologies, and discovering how things work beneath the surface. Whether he’s writing code, tackling challenging equations, or diving into scientific ideas, Eric brings creativity, focus, and enthusiasm to everything he does.

She has been part of the musical program for three years and previously appeared in Something Rotten Jr. Gabby dedicates this performance to her friends and hopes you enjoy the show.

Addy Aguiar (7) Makeup

Addy is a 7th grader who is excited to contribute to the middle school musical. Outside of school, she enjoys dance, traveling, and doing nails. Addy hopes you enjoy this production of Alice in Wonderland Jr.

Natasha Barker (7) Assistant Stage Manager

Natasha is a 7th grader who loves music, sketching, and being part of the stage craft team. She also enjoys crafting items for theater—especially fun, random props like fake peanut butter. She hopes you enjoy the show!

STAGE CRAFT CREW

Iza Gudrymowicz (7) Set Designer, Backstage Crew

Iza is excited to work in set design and set construction for this production. Her favorite sport is soccer, and she also enjoys crocheting and doing arts and crafts. Iza loves traveling—she has visited Europe and Canada many times and enjoys spending time with friends. She hopes you appreciate the show and have fun watching it!

Ainsley

Reys (7) Makeup, Costumes

Ainsley is 12 years old and in 7th grade. She has been in several productions, including Descendants, The Music Man, and The Claw, among others. At school, she enjoys literature and writing. Ivan Shafer (7) Lighting crew

Ivan is a 7th grader who loves working behind the scenes to help with the overall look of the show. He enjoys playing soccer, especially as a goalie, and loves dogs and many other animals. Ivan is very happy to be part of Alice in Wonderland Jr. and hopes you enjoy the performance.

Addison

Slabaugh (7) Costume Designer, Set design

Addie is a 7th-grade theatrical wonder who loves performing in Oakwood productions. She has participated in past shows such as Something Rotten Jr. and 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse. Hailey Slejmar (7) Set Design, Makeup

Hailey is a 7th grader who is very excited to help behind the scenes of Alice in Wonderland, Jr. She is highly creative and enjoys making and building sets— especially when she gets to use power tools. Hailey likes visiting Capitola Village and spending time with her friends. She hopes you enjoy the show and all the hard work she and her peers put into making it happen.

Kate Felnhofer (6) Set Construction, Costume Construction

Kate is a 6th grader and is thrilled to be part of this production. This is her first offstage role, but she is no stranger to the spotlight. Some of her favorite roles include Duchess in Aristocats (WVYT), Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians (WVYT), and Fairy Godmother in Descendants (SVCT). When she’s not on stage, Kate enjoys reading and traveling. She would like to thank her family for their support.

Kellan Ota (6) Set Construction

Kellan is a 6th grader and is excited to be part of the musical. He has performed in other shows, including Finding Nemo Jr. and The Wizard of Oz. In his free time, he enjoys parkour, drawing, reading, and watching anime. Kellan hopes to do his best in the show and dedicates his hard work to his family and friends who support him.

CAMEOS

Melissa Call Two of Hearts

Melissa Call is excited to make her Oakwood stage debut after a year of starring in Hamilton on Broadway! She thinks it’s perfectly fine to have jam every day, and she loves going on walks with her husband, her son, Kingston, and three chatty Siamese cats. Thanks to Lin-Manuel Miranda and Duran Duran!

Marisa Hare Ace of Diamonds

Ms. Hare is a middle school history teacher who specializes in the past. It appears that she has fallen through the looking glass and landed in a place called “Wonderland” where timelines collapse and logic is optional. She couldn’t be happier to explore this place with her amazing students. Primary sources confirm, that she will find her way back to reality.

Keith Hayden Three of Spades

Keith Hayden is a middle school science teacher at Oakwood School. Mr. Hayden has appeared in middle school productions of Newsies Jr., The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe and Something Rotten, Jr.! He always loves getting the opportunity to perform with his wonderful students and hopes that you enjoy the show!
