Oak Tree has been helping animals for 110 years. We are passionate about animal welfare and believe that every animal matters, helping hundreds of animals every year.

We provide: Guidance and practical support to pet owners Education to support our local community Loving homes for animals in need Individual support for all of the animals in our care

In 2018 we helped over 1700 animals in our region

Cartmell Shepherd's journey "Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors are delighted to support Oak Tree Animals’ Charity and their fantastic work looking after animals in need in our community.

We have helped the Charity in a variety of ways, from singing carols in The Lanes Shopping Centre in Carlisle at Christmas with the Cartmell Shepherd Community Choir, to providing a team of enthusiastic staff in the Give a Day to the City Initiative to build paths through the woods on site at the Sanctuary. We also help promote the Charity through our social media channels and enjoy attending and supporting events such as the Charity’s auction evening.

As a business we reap huge benefits in supporting Oak Tree. Working onsite provides a great opportunity for team bonding and networking. Helping in the community provides a fantastic opportunity for our staff and employees to grow in their own personal development and to learn about and from our community.

Corporate Volunteering and team building

Oak Tree Farm provides a range of corporate volunteering opportunities for employees both helping to maintain animal facilities and woodland management. We offer each of our groups a behind-the-scenes tour so they get the opportunity to see some of our residents and understand the huge difference their time and your company has made.

Opportunities can be half-day or full day for staff teams, with a maximum group size of 15.

Fundraising events

Join up with your colleagues to raise funds to help animals in our community with support from our fundraising team.

Hold an office bake-off; singathon; dress-down day, ...the opportunities are endless.

Oak Tree can offer advice and publicity for events and are happy to explain to your clients how your support helps animals in our region

You could also have a team-night out at one of our events, book a table and join the party!

Held throughout the year, our events can provide an ideal opportunity for fun and networking

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving (also referred to as Give as You Earn, or Workplace Giving) allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly to charity and on a tax free basis.

As donations via payroll giving are taken before tax, it means Oak Tree gets more of your donation and it costs your employees less!

Each ÂŁ1 donated will cost your employee just 80p (60p if they're a higher rate tax payer); the taxman pays the rest.

Animal or Event Sponsorship Sponsor one of our many events both at Oak Tree Farm or in the Community.

These include dog shows, community fairs and workshops.

We ensure your company's name and logo appears in all publicity relating to that event.

Or sponsor one of our longer-term residents from just ÂŁ4 per month, as an individual, team or company.

Projects Use your skills to make a difference by undertaking a project to support Oak Tree.

Previous Projects include: Filming and editing videos Creating a development plan for Blackburn Woods to bring it back to Community use Developing architects drawings for onsite developments at Oak Tree Farm Fitting dog flaps to our kennels to enable the dogs to access their outdoor runs at all times

Capital Item or training support

Your company or team can provide training or sponsor a capital item for Oak Tree or our animals. These can be key items such as training, facility improvements or equipment.

We make sure that your company's support is fully acknowledged, your logo displayed and, where appropriate, your name can also be used in association with the facility.
