Each year, the school buzzes with excitement as we prepare to welcome our new Year 7 cohort into Senior School All form teachers and many subject teachers are involved in delivering this programme which aims to make the transition to Senior School as smooth as possible
Over the coming months we will invite you to participate in activities and attend events which will help us get to know your child and for them to meet their new peer group
In addition to the children who will move up to Year 7 from our Prep School, we will be welcoming children from lots of schools and whilst this can be an apprehensive time, our transition activities have been designed to ensure our Senior School feels like home when they arrive in September. Faces will be familiar, and they will be ready and able to embark on the next phase of their school life

Student social evening Overview
All those joining Year 7 will receive a welcome message and there will be activities for children to complete.
Social evening for children joining Year 7.
A full day at AKS Senior School involving several activities designed to familiarise our new students with the environment and layout of the school and meet their teachers and fellow students.
Rugby and Hockey Training Session New Parents’ Welcome Evening
The children will meet their form tutor and other members of their tutor group. There will be some important information for parents regarding the transition to Year 7 and a chance to meet form tutors and key members of staff.
An opportunity to meet our PE staff and an introduction to some of our key autumn term sports. Afterwards, weather-permitting, there will be an opportunity for parents and children to join us for refreshments and mix informally prior to the start of term.
A chance for the children to meet with their tutors and classmates and familiarise themselves with school before term starts on 3rd September.
Year 7 Parents’ Induction Evening
An opportunity for parents to join us in school and address any queries or questions that may have arisen during the first month of term.
