Making Ice & Memories When winter arrives, conversations turn to ice. How are the roads? How thick are the lakes now? When will it stay cold enough to flood the rink? The week after Christmas was the coldest on record in Minnesota, ever, and gave a crew of

dedicated volunteers the opportunity to bring life back to the corner of Park Street and Pleasant Avenue. It was quickly transformed into a space for all ages and abilities to enjoy.

Annandale's skating rink is owned by the school district and is maintained by both the school and the city. Service organizations like the Lion's Club, Girl Scouts and the AHS Service Learning class have all contributed to the upkeep and improvements made to the rink over time. Their partnership has made having a community rink possible!


Skaters are welcome to use the ice any time. Lights can be turned on between 5-9 p.m. with a switch on the north side of

the warming house. They do automatically shut off at 9 p.m. Rink Rats brings the youngest members of our community

to the ice throughout the winter. This entry level program is designed to introduce kids to skating and for parents to see

if they are interested in hockey. So bundle up, dust off those skates, and go make some memories on the rink this winter.
