As the parent/guardian of a minor participating in the City of Oakley’s Recreation Programs, Field Trip and Services, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury. This Waiver, Release and Indemnity Agreement is intended to discharge in advance the City of Oakley, the Oakley Union School District, the Liberty Union High School District and its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with myself or my child/ward’s participation in said activity, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above. ONLINE DRIVER’S EDUCATION Age: 15 years old and up Location: Online Instructor: Erika Vieyra

KIDS AND YOUTH PROGRAMS

Are you tired of asking your parents and friends for a ride? Are you at least 15 years of age? If so, this class is for you! This is an interactive, online course with videos, animated driving scenarios and sample test questions. Learn the rules of the road, major causes of traffic collisions, DMV procedures, and much more. Receive a DMVapproved Certificate of Completion which is required for teens under 17 ½ years of age in order to obtain a learner’s permit and driver’s license. URBAN JAZZ DANCE Age: 7-13 years old Location: 1250 O’Hara Ave. Instructor: Jabris Rucker This dynamic and innovative class of exciting leaps and turns builds confidence while students learn diverse dance styles, including lyrical, modern, and ballet. This class will introduce a variety of music genres such as Jazz, Blues, Pop, Funk, and Rhythm & Blues. Students will develop physical strength, technique, performance quality, personal style, and creativity through movement. Each class will be structured into three parts: warm-up and stretching, technique and dance vocabulary, and choreography. A dance demonstration will be held on June 26. CREATIVE MOVEMENT Age: 3-6 years old Location: 1250 O’Hara Ave Instructor: Jabris Rucker Creative Movement is a fun class that encourages students to use their imaginations, express individuality through improvisation, improve motor skills, and build self-esteem as they learn the basics of dance. This class will explore the beautiful colors and sounds of India and its famous Bollywood! Participants will learn classic Bollywood footwork, head and eye movements, facial expressions to tell ancient tales, hip circles, and fun choreography in a theatrical setting! You will learn five classical rhythmic patterns and learn to mathematically arrange beats together. Please wear comfortable clothing, bare feet, hair tied back (if necessary) and bring a notebook and writing tool to take notes! Boys and girls are welcome!

This class is designed for first-time and experienced players alike. Kids will be grouped based on skill level. Appropriate Quick Start Tennis Equipment will be used to ensure the success of each child. Instruction will cover warm-up and hand-eye coordination drills as well as basic fundamentals of proper stroke development. Students will learn to rally, score, and play out points in no time!

BIDDY SPORTS Biddy Sports is like no other program! Children learn the fundamentals of a sport and develop social skills in a fun, safe, family-oriented environment. The class provides a non-competitive introduction where children can participate at their own level and ability without keeping score! Each one hour class will include a fun group warm-up, practice, and play a game. Parents get involved by volunteering to coach their child’s team – training is provided and no experience required. Introduce yourself and your toddler to the world’s most popular game! As you and your child participate in our fun age appropriate activities, your child will be developing their large motor and socialization skills. The fun happens on the field, and in Mommy/ Daddy & Me Soccer, parents are part of the action, not watching from the sidelines!

Players will learn dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, age-specific defense, etc. Fun skill games are played at every session, and every participant will have a ball at his or her feet. Small-sided soccer matches will be introduced gradually. Shin guards are required after the first meeting.

This workshop will help guide students and parents through the college entrance examination process, including helping to determine whether the SAT or ACT is the best test to take. Discussion will include factors that influence college admissions and how scores are used, information about the tests themselves and how they compare, strategies to improve the test score and an overview of the admissions timeline. Aqua Fit is a great way to keep your body moving to maintain mobility and flexibility when moving through day to day activities. Muscle movement in resistance to the water will assist in keeping the body toned and energized. The water massages the muscles and is perfect for seniors working with injuries and joint pain.
