New Recreation Center Opening Soon Construction of the Oakley Recreation Center is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2019. Once the building opens, the Recreation Division office and staff will move to the new Recreation Center. The facility will be available to rent for residents, non-residents, and community groups when it is not in use. Oakley Police Chief Christensen is on the Beat This fall, Eric Christensen was appointed Chief of Police of the Oakley Police Department and he’s been an asset to our city since day one. “Chief Christensen brings to Oakley extensive law enforcement experience, including most recently serving as the Police Chief of Lafayette,” said City Manager Bryan Montgomery. “His passion and energy for the law enforcement profession has been contagious.” Oakley Police Chief Eric Christen hit the ground running this year.
