Lukas Nelson & P.O.T.R. (Promise of the Real) are an American rock ‘n’ roll group based out of California. Lukas first picked up the guitar at age 11 to honor a promise he made to his father and was able to teach himself the craft by playing along to classic Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix songs. Lukas is building his following the old fashioned way, by touring year round and delivering high-energy performances to fans across the country. The band played on Neil Young’s record The Monsanto Years released June 29 and in July, toured with Neil Young in support of the release. Don’t miss this event in downtown Oak Harbor.

The Oak Harbor Music Festival is held Friday, Saturday and Sunday before Labor Day in historic downtown Oak Harbor. There are two main stages with 30 bands playing throughout the festival featuring all types of musical genre.

DONATE For the past three years Oak Harbor Music Festival has provided a weekend of free musical entertainment in the City of Oak Harbor, on beautiful Whidbey Island. Along with this musical extravaganza, the Festival has supported: • A community event that encourages tourism and economic growth.

• Scholarships for students studying music post high school. The proceeds from the festival will fund scholarships to students representing all three high schools on Whidbey Island - Oak Harbor High School, Coupeville High School, and South Whidbey High School.

SCHOLARSHIPS BRUCE LANCE MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Oak Harbor High School. In 2016 we will be awarding scholarships to each High School on Whidbey Island, three in his name.

For 2016 we have added another scholarship. This is in honor of the Oak Harbor Music teacher Bruce lance, who after 31 years of teaching music, retired this year. We will be awarding scholarship to each High School on Whidbey Island, three in his name.

The Ed Bridges Music Scholarship is given in honor of Ed Bridges who was the Oak Harbor High School music director in the 1970’s. He was an inspiration to many young musicians who have gone on to make music their careers.

Mark Lewis Cool Jazz Trio Mark is a master of the saxophone and flute, author of 1,700 compositions and recorded and produced over thirty albums. In Europe, he played and taught improvised music in several music conservatories. Living in San Francisco he recorded a Top 40 jazz album and often subbed in for Stan Getz. He currently lives in the Northwest, tours internationally and has a fall music project recording in NYC.
