It’s an unforgettable experience filled with good food, arts and crafts, friendly faces, and over 40 acts performing across four stages. Our community’s financial support through grants and donations enables us to produce a free music festival, while also helping local students bring their musical passions to life. In our 14 years, we have awarded over $115,000 in scholarships to Whidbey’s graduating seniors.
ED BRIDGES MEMORIAL MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP (est. 2013)
This scholarship is given in honor of Ed Bridges, who served as Oak Harbor High School’s music director in the 1970s. He left a lasting legacy, inspiring countless young musicians to pursue careers in music.

The Oak Harbor Music Festival proudly established the Quarter Note Fund for Young Musicians in 2022. This fund is dedicated to providing access to musical instruments for young Whidbey Island musicians in grades 5-8. It is designed to support students who might not otherwise be able to afford an instrument, as well as those who have special needs that require a unique musical experience within a band or orchestra setting.

The Wax Lips are a Washington-based rock band creating high-quality original music that resonates with a wide range of listeners. Blending elements of classic and progressive rock, their sound spans dynamic styles, moods, and textures—offering a rich listening experience with every track.
Though the band members live across the state—from Seattle and Everett to Bellingham and Whidbey Island—their roots go back nearly a decade, when the original members first started playing together on Whidbey Island. In 2023, they came together under the new name, The Wax Lips, and have since focused on recording fresh material and honing their distinctive sound.
With a combined 50+ years of musical experience, The Wax Lips bring seasoned talent and creative synergy to every performance and recording session. As their fan base continues to grow, the band is excited for what’s ahead—and eager to keep delivering music that moves and connects.

True North, the American Roots duo of Kristen Grainger and Dan Wetzel, crafts songs of haunting beauty that linger in the soul. Kristen’s acclaimed songwriting has earned top honors at MerleFest, Wildflower, and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. She won the USA Songwriting Contest and was featured at SXSW in 2022. Dan Wetzel is a talented multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and skilled luthier.
