Chapter 1: October 2, 2010; Spice Tiger City “Mom, Dad, time to go to (the state) Pepper Panda!” Yelled Pine. “OK Pine, just give us 5 more minutes,” replied mom. “NO!!! We are going to be late for our flight!!!” Demanded Pine. “You do not talk to your mother that way!” Roared dad. “But our plane leaves in 45 minutes and it’s like an half hour drive.” advised Pine. Well we are gonna be late if you keep on talking to me that way!”argued Mom. “Augh fine.” scolded Pine. 5 minutes later “Faster,faster,faster,” snapped pine. “We’re gonna get pulled over!”argued dad “Slow down there is a cop coming!”yelled Pine “Ok, miss sassy pants.”grunted Dad. “Do not talk to your daughter that way” ruled mom “Fine” “Daddy?” “What?” “I'm sorry for talking to you in a rude way” “I forgive you.” “I just really want to go to the state Pepper Panda.” “ It's ok me and your mom should've been ready to go.” 15 minutes later “Who's ready to go to Pepper Panda?”asked Dad. “We are!” Chapter 2: Oct 2, 2010; Spicy tiger city on the airplane “Yay were on the plane! Oop’s ya we’re on the plane.” Whispered/shouted Pine.“Ok don’t have too much sugar.We are going to get a good seat.”said Mom. “Ok, love you.” said Pine in a joyful voice. 30 minutes later “This is your captain. Please grab a parachute. We are about to crash so please follow the flight attendant and do what she says. Thank you, oh and please grab your child if you left it unattended .” “MOM!DAD!” Screamed Pine at the top of her lungs. “I am going to die!” “PINE!PINE!” “Come here! Hurry! Before we crash!” “Im stuck!!” “We are comi-!!!” BOOM! CRASH! SPLAT! 3 hours later Beep!beep!beeeeep!

The Spooky Night By Tyler Ekovich
I would like to thank my grammy for helping me come up with this idea without her none of this would be possible. Second I would like to thank my cousins Ally and Emmy and my sisters Kalyn and Piper for letting me put them in my book. Hope you enjoy the story.
Chapter 1 Halloween Once there were 5 kids and they are named Tyler,Ally,Kalyn,Piper,and Emmy. It was Halloween night in Kendallville. Kalyn was dressed up as a Unicorn, Piper was dressed up as Moana, Tyler was dressed up as the Mandolorian , Ally was dressed up as a Ladybug, and Emmy was Jasmin. When they were walking through the town they entered a neighborhood that they have never seen before. It was full of scary houses. “This place is scary” said Ally “I know” said Tyler”. “AHHHHHHH” screamed Kalyn. “What?” said Everyone. “I think I saw a ghost,” said Kalyn. “There is no such thing as ghosts” said Emmy. “Yeah,” said Tyler. “Let’s go I don’t like the look of this place” said Piper. “That’s a good idea” said Kalyn. When they were about ready to leave the neighborhood the house in front of them started to make a “Creaking” noise. “Let’s go” said Tyler and they started to run away.
Chapter 2 Pumpkin Head When they got out of the neighborhood they stopped running. “Do you hear something?” asked Ally. “Yeah” said Tyler. “GO GO GOOOO!!!!!!!” screamed Emmy. “What is it” asked Tyler. “ Look behind you” said Emmy. They looked. It was a man wearing all black with a black cape and a PUMPKIN HEAD!!! They ran so fast that they dropped all of their candy. “The pumpkin guy is still chasing us” said Ally. “I know,” said Kalyn. “Let’s hide behind that bush” said Tyler. “Good idea” said Piper. . “Excuse me” said Ally. 8
Then the pumpkin head looked at them, they all screamed. They ran away. Then something really bad happened, they ran into a dead end. “What are we going to do?” asked Ally. “Run into the woods” explained Tyler.
Chapter 3 A happy Ending All of a sudden A beeping came from Ally's watch. “What does that mean?” asked Tyler. “It is 10 till 12!!!” explained Ally. “Oh no” said Tyler. When they were running through the woods Tyler tripped over a stick. “He is coming” said Ally. “Leave me behind” said Tyler. “Why” said Ally. “Just do it” said Tyler. “No, we never leave family behind” said Kalyn. They picked up Tyler right before the Pumpkin head got him. When they got out of the woods they realized that they were on main street. “Let’s run home” said Tyler. “Ok” said Piper. When they got to their Grammy and Grampy's house they stopped running, but the pumpkin head was still chasing them. But then all of a sudden the Pumpkin Head EXPLODED!!! When the dust cleared Tyler saw a note on the ground. “Look at this” said Tyler. “What does it say” asked Ally. “It says” “I will return” read Tyler. “I wonder what that means” said Ally. “I know one thing is for shure is that I am sad that we don’t have any candy” said Emmy. “Yeah” said Piper. Then they noticed 5 jumbo sized Kit Kat bars on the ground “OOOO, yummy” said Piper. Than the door to Grammy and Grampy’s house opened. “So, how was it?” asked Grammy. “Was it fun” asked Grampy. “Well, it sure was a spooky night” replied Ally. “You said it” said Tyler. “Hey, we got good candy” said Emmy. “That’s good” said Grammy.

Charity: Water By: Lily M., Cici A., Ainsley M. and Kathryn C.
Charity: Water is an organization that we are very passionate about. Charity: Water helps people in Africa and other countries get clean water. Without water, the average human can only live 40 years. Charity: Water was started by a Christian man named Scott Harrison. When Scott was 4, his mother became extremely ill due to a gas leak. When Scott turned 18, he did everything he was told not to do. He did this for 10 years. When Scott turned 28, he relized how stupid he was being. He wanted to turn his life around, so he tried to volunteer for many different charities, but they didn’t want a guy that was going to act up and misbehave, they were serious. He finally found a charity he could volunteer for, but he had to pay 500 euros. He decided to volunteer and became their photographer. The Charity was called Mercy Ships, a doctor ship that came around to the poor countries to do operations and fix them. They also taught the people in the villages how to give operations and cure people. Scott wondered why these people were getting so sick. One day he was walking around the villages and he saw a whole bunch of people lined up by this repulsive creek that cows were drinking from. The people had these huge jugs for water. He realized people were walking 20 miles daily for this nasty water that they had to drink, cook with, and clean themselves with. The water was full of leeches and other types of water bugs.Scott was inspired by how many people (mostly teenage girls) were walking for gross water, just to stay alive. Scott said, “ Mercy Ships is helping cure those who are already sick from the nasty water, but it isn’t stopping the problem .” So, Scott started Charity: Water. Charity: water builds wells in a bunch of countries, so they can have clean water. We are trying to build a $6,000 well in Uganda. One of us has already built an $8,000 well in Bangladesh. If you would want to help us raise money for a community in Uganda, we are selling bracelets, scrunchies, and other items are coming soon.

I look into its eyes and they say, “no more cries, no need to fear I am here I am here for you all the way through” Then I look at the pony’s nose and I feel close I love to kiss it, We never feel unfit

Editors Note Hello! Wow, long time no see! I am so excited to be back in business working with the amazing TypeWrite team to create a few magazines for you to enjoy with your family this year. We are in the midst of history in the making, and with historical events comes emotional strain and restlessness. Throughout our quarantined summer, I felt myself holding the whole world’s heaviness on my shoulders. As a result, I struggled to create and find any spark of imagination within me. Coming back to school and hearing students talk about the pandemic, I have seen the same feeling of heaviness on the students of Oak Farm but with the direct opposite reaction. I have had countless discussions with students in which they shared with me the work they created with the bountiful time they had on their hands this summer. Receiving submissions, and seeing the creativity of students as fervent as ever, if not more, reminded me of the reason I started TypeWrite‌ to show students that creativity is freedom. Watching as students realized that power and used it to remind themselves that hard times are temporary, has helped me more than I could have imagined to change my own mindset. If you’re having a hard time waking from the daze of quarantine, have a chat with an elementary schooler. Thank you for supporting TypeWrite and the changes we have made in order to continue this wonderful journey of discovery.
