The New Zealand Sport Fishing Council promotes the Sport of fishing for New Zealand Anglers. We Provide:
• Technical support for local and regional issues • Education programmes for Youth • A national tagging programme • Commissioning and funding Tagging and Research projects through the NZ Marine Research Foundation • Maintain the database of New Zealand and International record catches • Advocacy and a voice for best practice management of fisheries and the environment. • Buying Privileges through PIC Marine, Genesis Energy and Go Fuel. More buying privileges for member clubs will be added in the near future. • Capability Building with member clubs, including membership growth strategies and Financial • Management and Governance advice. How it works: • The Affiliation fee to NZ Sport Fishing Council is; • $11 per Senior Member GST inclusive • $5.50 per Junior Member GST inclusive, part of which is donated to the NZ Marine Research Foundation. • A portion of the funds goes towards the funding of the NZSFC Fisheries Management Committee. LegaSea is a stand-alone not for profit company that was set up and is owned by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council. • LegaSea advocates and funds a range of projects to support recreational fishing and ecosystem-based fisheries management. LegaSea works with the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council to lobby decision makers with regard to issues facing our fisheries and marine environment.
