1. Ross Dependency Stamps. Reproductions of the Ross Dependency stamps, of which particulars were given in Philatelic Bulletin No. 10, appear on page 4 of thiB iSBue. The stamps were printed in England by Tho~ De La Rue & Co. Ltd., and there are 120 stamps to a sheet in each denomination.
When the New Zealand Trans-Antarctic ~xpedition arrives in the Ross Dependency area a post otfice will be established there. It ie expected that the office, which will be known as ~cott Base, will be opened early in January, 1957. The post office will remain open fo~ an indafinite period. When the stampe are placed on sale in the Roas Dependency, mint specimens will be obtainable at the Chief Post Offices at Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Wellington and from the Stamps Division, General Post Office, Wellington, C.1. As stated in Bulletin No. 10 the BtamDS 11'111 be valid only for postage on articles posted at post offlces established 1n the Ross Dependency area. They will not be valid for postage on mail posted lrrNew Zealand.
