Welcome to the 2019 New York State Women’s Senior & Super Senior Amateur Championships. The New York State Golf Association is proud to partner with Bristol Harbour Golf Club to provide a fair, challenging test in our efforts to identify New York’s top women’s senior amateur golfers.
We are excited to showcase this wonderful design that has hosted past NYS Championships including the 1981 & 1990 Women’s Senior & Super Senior Championships, as well as the 1991 Boys’ Junior and Sub-Junior Championship and the 1992 Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship.

In addition to the NYS Women’s Senior & Super Senior Amateur, the NYSGA conducts eight other annual amateur championships which crown a total of 17 state titleholders. These championships are open to men and women, juniors and seniors, of all golfing abilities.
It takes a dedicated group of staff and volunteers to run these championships at the highest level. Our NYSGA team works hard to be the best and it shows. Thank you to our dedicated staff and tournament committee for their dedication and commitment to promoting amateur golf.
I’d also like to thank Bristol Harbour and all the other NYSGA member clubs who generously give their courses and facilities to support amateur golf. We simply could not do this without your partnership.
We hope you enjoy this year’s championship, and will help us spread the word to women across the state about the various competitive opportunities we have available each season.
Sincerely,

Warren Winslow, President New York State Golf Association

Situated along the shores of Canandaigua Lake, Bristol Harbour is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes wine country.
Robert Trent Jones designed the golf course in 1972. The course is set up at 6,662 yards and is played to a par of 72. The layout offers two unique nines, with the front side composed of links-stye holes and showcases the resort’s lakefront views. The back nine consists of tighter holes that are laid out through the property’s forest.
Bristol Harbour has homed multiple New York State events, including the 1981 & 1990 Women’s Senior & Super Senior Championships, as well as the 1991 Boys’ Junior and Sub-Junior Championship and the 1992 Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
Thank you to the staff at Bristol Harbour for hosting this year’s championship!

BLYTH WINS IN 3-WAY PLAYOFF, LEVINE-RIBBLE CLAIMS SUPER SENIOR
Tammy Blyth & Ronnie Ribble-Levine took home the 2018 NYS Women’s Senior titles.
Tammy Blyth knocked down a par on the second playoff hole to win the 2018 New York State Women’s Amateur Championship at Thendara Golf Club located in the heart of the picturesque Adirondacks.
The champion from Monroe Golf Club, sat tied with two former champions at the end of the tournament’s 36 holes of stroke play. Blyth, along with Kim Kaul of Gowanda Country Club and Susan Kahler of Ballston Spa Country Club, finished at 10-over 156.
*Won in playoff
On the opening hole of the sudden-death playoff, the par-5 No. 1, Kahler (2013 winner) couldn’t get up-and-down from the bunker to make bogey while both Blyth and Kaul (2008 & 2015 winner) moved on with pars.
The duo then teed off into the signature par-3 ninth hole, which has a table top green that falls off on both sides with intense undulations, a common occurrence on Donald Ross designs.
The hole location was set on the right side of the green, and Blyth secured her par while Kaul was unable to match it, rewarding Blyth with her first state title.
Kaul and Blyth, who were the co-leaders after Tuesday’s opening round, both shot 78-78, while Kahler finished with 76 to join the leaders, which was the low round in the tournament.
Finishing in fourth was Carolyn Mancini of Binghamton Country Club at 158.
Mary Sicard of Queensbury Country Club, who claimed the last two consecutive titles, posted an 83 in the final round to finish in seventh at 162.
Former Women’s Amateur champion, Mary Jo Kelly of Wolferts Roost Country Club, had a 36-hole total of 163, good enough for eighth place. She was the runner-up at last year’s championship.
Blyth was a co-leader after the opening round in 2017, but couldn’t hold her lead and eventually finished in third place. The two years prior, she finished as runner-up (2015 at Thendara) and tied for third (2016 at The Whiteface Club).
This year, she took those tough lessons from the past few years and was finally able break through.
In the Super Senior division, Ronnie Levine-Ribble posted the field low of 78 in the final round to win the championship by a stroke.
The player representing Penfield Country Club finished at 11-over 157 to edge two-time champion Cecily Havens.
1
Havens, who won her first championship in 2015 at Thendara and another the following year at The Whiteface Club, carded another 79 and came in at 158 to earn runner-up honors.
Kitty Colliflower of Oak Hill Country Club, came in at third in her first year of eligibility and posted a 164.
2014 champion Michelle Marquis of Pompey Club, was fourth at 165.
Age group winners were decided for gross and net in both championships, in the following age groups: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
