Breaking Beauty Boundaries with Science Suppliers’ Day 2026

Welcome Letter from the Chair

…Anushka Nadkarni, 2026 NYSCC Chair

The anticipation is real! I am very much looking forward to welcoming you to our largest, most dynamic, and most forward-looking Suppliers’ Day to date Starting May 19th, the Jacob K Javits Convention Center becomes the global meeting place for cosmetic science, ingredient innovation, product development, and meaningful industry connection. It is where scientists, suppliers, brands, entrepreneurs, and future leaders come together not only to discover what is new, but to help define what comes next.

Our theme, “Breaking Beauty Boundaries with Science,” reflects the extraordinary evolution taking place across beauty and personal care Science is no longer simply supporting innovation it is transfor ming how beauty is conceived, for mulated, experienced, and delivered. From biotechnology and advanced ingredient engineering to sensory science, skin longevity, personalization, wellness, and inclusive product design, scientific advancement is expanding perfor mance while opening entirely new possibilities for our industry

You will see this spirit of innovation reflected everywhere throughout this year ’ s Suppliers’ Day. W ith nearly 700 exhibitors and the largest exhibit floor in our show’s history, Suppliers’ Day offers an unparalleled showcase of new ingredients, technologies, services, and for mulation solutions from around the world Complementing the activity on the floor are more than 100 hours of scientific, technical, and marketing education truly bringing “from for mula to finish” to life.

Among this year ’ s new educational highlights are K-Beauty Innovation, Sensory Science, Biodesigned Care, and IFSCC Presents: Where Cosmetic Science Is Going Next. We offer a strong inter national and regulatory perspective through programs led by PCPC, IKW, EFfCI, SOCMA, and CACPA Retur ning favorites include Discover Sustainability, Fragrance: The Invisible Art, World of Chemistry, and NYSCC Scientific Committee tracks on Der maBeauty, Hair and Scalp Care, and Microbiome Science

Beyond the classroom, Suppliers’ Day offers immersive show-floor experiences designed to inspire discovery and connection New this year is Catalyst Cor ner, spotlighting disruptive thinking and emerging ideas, alongside the retur ning INDIE 360°, Inspiration Hive, and the For mulators’ Tour, a guided exploration of beauty powered by plant life We are also excited to record our new podcast, The Science Shaping Beauty, directly from the show floor

The Main Stage keynote presentations bring influential brand perspectives to the forefront. We are honored to welcome leadership from Supergoop! and L’Oréal Groupe to share how research, innovation, and strategic thinking are shaping the future of beauty Suppliers’ Day also celebrates excellence across the industry through the Ingredient Maverick Awards, the INDIE 360 People’s Choice Award, and the reveal of the CEW Supplier’s Beauty Award Finalists at the NYSCC Industry Awards Night on May 19th at the Hard Rock Cafe

Ignites Innovation: Elevating SPF Into a Skincare

Main Stage

12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

PRitual

ioneering protective sunscreen brand, Supergoop!, will take center stage at the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Suppliers’ Day for a featured keynote presentation “Supergoop! Ignites Innovation: Elevating SPF Into a Skincare Ritual” will take place on Tuesday, May 19th from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m. at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

This highly anticipated conversation will feature Melis del Rey, Chief Executive Officer, and Akshay Talati, Chief Innovation Officer of Supergoop! in discussion with Kathryn Hopkins, Senior Beauty Director at WWD. This insightful presentation, open to all attendees, will explore how innovation is transfor ming sunscreen from a functional, often overlooked category into an essential and engaging part of daily skincare routines

For decades, SPF has been positioned as a seasonal necessity, important, yet inconsistently adopted due to issues with texture, wearability, and user experience. Supergoop! has played a pivotal role in reshaping this perception by reimagining not only for mulation science, but also sensorial design and brand storytelling. The result: products that seamlessly integrate into everyday routines, making sun protection more intuitive, desirable, and habit-for ming

“As an industry, we ’ ve long known that daily sun protection is critical, but awareness alone doesn’t drive behavior,” said Melis del Rey, CEO of Supergoop! “What drives real adoption is innovation that removes friction and creates enjoyable, high-perfor ming products that people genuinely want to use This conversation is an opportunity to share how rethinking the entire SPF experience can make it desirable and joyful as well as unlock real, lasting change in daily habits.”

Akshay Talati, Chief Innovation Officer, added: “The future of SPF lies at the intersection of perfor mance, sensorial excellence, and real-world usability It’s no longer just about protection but about creating for mulations that fit effortlessly into moder n lifestyles. At Suppliers’ Day, we ’ re excited to discuss how scientific advancement across ingredient innovation and for mulation design is shaping the next generation of protective skincare ”

The Supergoop! conversation reflects the overarching theme of Suppliers’ Day 2026, “Breaking Beauty Boundaries with Science,” highlighting how scientific innovation continues to redefine product perfor mance, consumer engagement, and category growth
