


Tim Andrews has been promoted to the role of Leach & Purification Superintendent Tim has been with Nyrstar for 7 years, working first as a Process Engineer and then as Production Coordinator in the Roaster. Tim earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He also served in the Peace Corps in West Africa. anelle McGuire is the LPCMR Production & Training Coordinator he first came to Nyrstar in 2007 as a data entry clerk She left for a short stint but returned in 2010 as a contractor handling the Nyrstar account before officially joining the team in 2021
When she’s not at work, she’s onto the next adventure In fact, her most recent adventure was riding out Hurricane Milton in Sarasota, Florida Janelle loves traveling, camping, river-rafting, and spending time with family and friends She also loves her furbabies, which you will find photos of posted all over her office
Janelle says the best part of her job is that it allows her the freedom to learn and teach She enjoys helping others reach their full potential and is always eager to mentor anyone seeking professional growth Her advice to others? Take ownership and pride in every task and never let anyone take away your joy or desire to be your best
The Nyrstar East Tennessee Mine Rescue Team, a volunteer group of employees proficient in advanced rescue operations, recently engaged in disaster response efforts in Unicoi County, Tennessee, following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene
Unicoi County, which sits on the North Carolina border, experienced extensive damage and severe flooding, which led to several weather-related fatalities in eastern Tennessee.
In response to a statewide call for assistance, the Mine Rescue Team, affiliated with the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads, dispatched a contingent of seven skilled mine workers Members of the team are trained in areas of Advance Mine Rescue, Firefighting, HAZMAT, Search and Extrication as well other first responder skills to assist fellow employees or members of the community during emergency situations
Additionally, Nyrstar Clarksville’s Process Manager, Terry Dabbs, also lent a helping hand and a paw Terry, and fellow members of the Cumberland K9 Search & Recovery Team responded to a request for assistance by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency
They used their cadaver canines to help with recovery efforts in Carter, Unicoi and Washington counties.
