PHOTOS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS!

On the morning of Saturday, June 8th, OHS Key Club participated in Oceanside's Community Wellness Day. At this event, many school clubs and community organizations gather around the track to advertise their missions, give away informational materials, engage community members in small activities. There was a color run, hula hoop classes, karate instruction and more taking place on the fields. Key Club participated by advertising a Bingo Night in association with two charities, one of which is run by several of our members: Oceanside Dog Rescue Club. By the next morning, the Bingo Night had sold out and went on to raise over $35,000 for its pet supplyrelated mission. On the evening of Saturday, June 8th, Oceanside High School held the Susan Satriano Foundation’s Walk of Lights on the track. The Susan Satriano Foundation was organized by Joe Satriano in honor of his wife; it provides scholarships for students on Long Island whose families are impacted by cancer. At this event, illuminated bags were purchased by community members and placed around the track. Pink bags were bought to remember someone who has passed away due to cancer, and gold bags were to honor those who are currently fighting or are in remission. People walked around the track as many times as they pleased. There were also tons of raffles that helped to raise money for the foundation.

POTLIGHTS POTLIGHTS

Midwood High School's Key Club had their last meeting on June 13th. During this time we implemented a tote bag fundraiser as a fun way to end the year. Key Clubbers paid $5 to paint their tote bags, with all supplies provided. This gave them the chance to raise funds while expressing their creative sides through art. It was such a blast seeing all our members express themselves with such amazing designs. Our members have worked extremely hard the whole service year, so this was a little treat for them to take a break. We also provided snacks and a senior surprise. For our senior surprise, board members split into groups to work on boards for each senior. Working together gathering supplies and brainstorming ideas was such a heartwarming and bonding experience that I greatly appreciate. This was a way for us to show our appreciation for all the work our seniors have done throughout the years. We worked as groups to gather pictures, get creative, and make the posters the best we could. To conclude, our last meeting was an exciting and entertaining way to showcase our love for seniors and a way for our members to get creative with their minds! It let our members' creative spirits shine even more! We look forward to many events in the summer and an amazing f the service year!
