MLK REPAIR IMANI GARDEN
his year’s MLK service weekend, key clubbers d at Imani Community Garden on January 14th! d to Crown Heights in freezing weather. On the , we got to see the first snow of the year YAY! us gardening gloves and hand warmers upon o we wouldn't be completely freezing while we king but we were still freezing. More than 30 howed up (from other clubs/organizations like STUY), making it so much more fun. fterward, my friends and I were hungry so we looked on google maps to find a place to eat. We found a cute aitian cafe called Lakou nearby and the food was good. I ve Key Club volunteering events because they introduce e to various cultures and neighborhoods. I’ve never been Crown Heights or tried Haitian food before so they were ew experiences. This is why I love Key Club. I get to arn beyond school and make new meaningful mories. I don't want to say this was my favorite Key vent of this year yet because it's only our first one. I pe I get to go to more fun events in the future :)

Work was split up into many stations: bench building, rden arch building, repairing compost beds, and sorting ood scraps. We all split up and work definitely got done faster. Time went by so quickly, but many stations mpleted what they were assigned. In the end, they gave hot chocolate and coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts. The hot chocolate was extremely rewarding.
