D E C E M B E R D I V I S I O N A L R E C A P On December 13th, Division 10 held an in-person divisional meeting in New Dorp. At around 5 p.m., the meeting began with Maggie, our LTG, doing the Key Club pledge and attendance. This time, the meeting had members from Tottenville HS, New Dorp HS, Staten Island Technical HS, Curtis HS, and Wagner HS! The room was as packed as possible, considering COVID restrictions. She then proceeded to bring us updates regarding Key Club, Division 10, and its events. These updates included NYDKC Awards (which she stressed the importance of), CPR Certification for those who attended CPR training, our division’s events committee, the Leadership Training Conference (which she also emphasized the importance of!), and last but not least, the Lieutenant Governor interviews in January. Further updates on Division events included Charity Miles, Key Buddies, Project Support the Local, and the Ice Skating Event Fundraiser, which turned out to be an amazing event where we raised nearly $600! After Miss Reznik’s updates, each club President took turns to share their updates, all of which were positive and even surprising. SI Tech shared that they had over 200 people attend their school meeting! This makes D10’s future look bright. Towards the end, Mr. Gioia was given his time to speak. He further explained to us what will happen at LTC and explained that if people want to go and have money issues, they can always go to him or to Kiwanis for aid. Before ending the meeting, Maggie asked if anyone was interested in running for LTG or had any general questions. As I left the meeting, I was very proud of our Division's hard work and accomplishments. BY DANIEL GORELIK NDHS KEY CLUB CO-PRESIDENT 12
