campus visit options Daily visits (preferred option) ■■ 90-minute walking tour guided by a Northwest Student Ambassador, who shares his or her experience about Northwest and tips for selecting a university.

■■ Destinations include: academic buildings, classrooms and labs, dining facilities, the library, Student Recreation Center and the residence halls.

■■ Each tour will allow time for a question-and-answer session with Admissions representatives to discuss admission, scholarships, financial assistance and housing options.

■■ If requested, we’ll do our best to arrange an appointment with a faculty member within your major or area of interest.

■■ Explore the rich tradition and history of Northwest.

■■ Daily tours depart every hour on the hour from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Limited visits ■■ These tours are limited because classes are not in session and many of our students and faculty will be away from campus. In some cases, facilities are also closed for that period of time.

You may not obtain a true picture of campus life as we know it during a limited visit. ■■ Tours depart at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.

From Kansas City (2 hours; 1.5 hours from the airport) Go north on Interstate 29 through St. Joseph. Proceed north to Exit 56A to Highway 71. Proceed north 35 miles on Highway 71 to Maryville. Take Business 71 into town; it becomes Main Street. Proceed on Main into the downtown area and turn left onto Fourth Street. Follow the Bearcat Paws to campus. Turn right onto University Drive where Mabel Cook Recruitment and Visitors Center is located on the right.

From Des Moines (2 hours, 30 minutes) Go south on Interstate 35 for 65 miles to the Leon, Iowa, Highway 2, exit #12. Turn right and proceed west on Highway 2 for 60 miles to Bedford, Iowa. Turn left on Iowa Highway 148 and proceed south for 20 miles to Maryville. Turn right on Highway CC, and at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 continue straight on Business 71 and follow it into the downtown area. Turn right on Fourth Street. Follow the Bearcat Paws to campus. Turn right onto University Drive where Mabel Cook Recruitment and Visitors Center is located on the right.

From Omaha/ Council Bluffs (2 hours) Go south on Interstate 29 to Exit 110, Rock Port, Mo. Turn left onto U.S. Highway 136 (east). Follow U.S. 136 to Highway 71. Turn right onto Highway 71 and proceed south to Maryville, 18 miles. Turn right on Icon Road (look for Northwest Missouri State University directional sign) and proceed south approximately 2 miles to campus. Turn left onto College Avenue. Turn left onto University Drive where Mabel Cook Recruitment and Visitors Center is located on the right.

Mabel Cook From Lincoln (2 hours) Go east on Highway 2 through Sidney, Iowa, for 45 miles to Clarinda, Iowa. Turn right onto Highway 71 and proceed 30 miles to Maryville. Turn right on Icon Road (look for Northwest Missouri State University directional sign) and proceed south approximately 2 miles to campus. Turn left onto College Avenue.
