Heron Lakes Golf Course

Portland’s Heron Lakes Golf Course is a classic haven for golfers. The urban wetlands features two championship courses that offer unique challenges for players. Those looking for less of a challenge should gravitate to the Greenback; anyone looking for a challenge should make their tee time on the Great Blue.

Heron Lakes is definitely a complete golf facility. In addition to the golf courses, customers have access to a turf and grass driving range, large putting green, and short game practice green. The pro shop offers just about anything you might need for your bag.

The Great Blue is a truly a beast of a golf course. With a combination of long and short holes, Great Blue challenges players from tee to green and welcomes them to the end of each hole with large greens that can be difficult. Water comes in predominantly on the back nine, making the finishing especially difficult. It’s a course you can call tough but fair.

On the other side, the Greenback is more of a classic Northwest track when compared Great Blue’s links style. That doesn’t make the Greenback any less fun to play, it just means you’ll be able to let your guard down from time to time. With plenty of trees and generous bodies of water, players on the Greenback with get to hit every club in their bag.
