AESD & OSPI Statewide Collaboration Updates from the NWESD Region

Educational Technology (EdTech) In collaboration with the AESD Network, NWESD Ed Tech has designed, coordinated and supported state and regional provessional learning networks to increase education technology expertise in the classroom and community. 2021-2022 school year summary: Courses taught 22 | Participants 1,587 | Clock hours claimed 86. For more information: Trinh Pham | tpham@nwesd.org | www.nwesd.org/instructional-technology Inclusionary Practices Project (IPP) In response to Washington State ranking as one of the least inclusive states in the nation, state legislators prioritized funding for the improvement of inclusive education. Through the grant, (currently in its fourth year), the AESD IPP has focused on increasing the capacity of school leadership teams to understand, prioritize, and implement structural and instructional inclusionary practices for students iwth disabilities and all students. 2021-2022 school year summary: Hours of Professional Learning: 92,400 | Educators: 9,700 For more information: Cassie Stevens | cstevents@nwesd.org | www.nwesd.org/inclusionary-practices-project ClimeTime Climate Science Initiative This fall, the Pacific Education Institute (PEI), WSU, BreadLabs, EarthGen, Teaching for the Climate Collaborative (N-SEA, ReSources, Wild Whatcom, and Common Threads), Islandwood, Padilla Bay Reserve National Estuarine Reserve, as well as other ESDs across the state will be offering various ClimeTime programming opportunities. Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Through a partnership with OSPI and ESDs, Washington districts have the opportunity to engages in MTSS implementation and scale up support. The 2022-2023 school year marks the second year of this support, with engagement from seven districts across our region. The professional learning and technical assistance provided creates the capacity and intrastructure needed to deliver comprehensive supports and consistently meet every students’ needs and accelerate student academic, social, emotional and behavioral learning.
