Vendor Spotlight

Building Photos by Morgan Boecker

For Marsha Marley, family is her reason for everything. It was the biggest inspiration for the dream that has become Plentywoods! The team at Plentywoods wants wedding days to be as stress-free as possible for the Photo by Marlayna Photo couple and their guests, so they provide a representative to be there to answer questions, lend a hand when needed, and offer support to the families. During one wedding, the caterers were having a hard time keeping up with food and drinks. To ensure a well-stocked bar for the 200-person wedding and to assist the caterer, Marsha jumped in to brew tea and make lemonade! This kind of hands-on approach makes Plentywoods stand out among other wedding venues.

One of Plentywoods' goals is to make the entire wedding experience as smooth as possible – from choosing a venue, to finding vendors, to being there on the big day. Once couples book, Plentywoods shares a recommended vendor list and a planning sheet. Utilizing the

At Plentywoods, they offer a basic venue package that includes access to all amenities, weekend packages (2-3 day reservations), setup and tear-down packages, event manager packages (and combinations thereof), a photobooth, and The Cottage, which sleeps up to 4 people.

planning guide transforms wedding planning from overwhelming to manageable— perhaps even enjoyable! The planner walks couples through every decision they need to make so that their day-ofcoordinator can execute the wedding of their dreams.

When asked what kind of advice the Plentywoods team offers to brides and grooms, they provide a reminder not to forget about the guests and the people who are coming to celebrate the couple. As the schedule is created with the photographer or planner, it’s essential to keep the guests in mind too. Photo by Natalie Funburg Photography Marsha and her team want to leave as friends with their clients at the end of the wedding. Maintaining a respectful and honest relationship is vital to them. They are in the business because of their love for serving people. Because they are a new venue, they still have available dates in 2024. We recommend booking events at least 9 months in advance. This is partly because it gives the couple a realistic timeline to plan the wedding.

Every couple is unique, and their wedding should be too. Plentywoods is flexible – within certain guidelines – to work

with clients to customize and personalize their wedding to make it special for them, no matter when the request comes in. "Our biggest request is open and honest communication between our clients and us. We prefer more communication rather than less. We enjoy hearing the details."

A common phrase on tours is “This is even more beautiful in person!” The location is quiet, serene, wild, and beautiful. The theme is modern, elegant, and rustic. There is space to host up to 350 guests, and it’s common to host weddings of 150. If you’re looking for a venue for a wedding, corporate party, or holiday gathering, Photo by Courtney Paige Photography

please come see this space for yourself.

Seeing families on the first day that they are created is a rewarding aspect for Marsha. Marriage is a beautiful relationship that is the greatest adventure two people embark on together. To witness a man and wife become one is truly a blessing.

The Ultimate Wedding Checklist 12 Months Determine Your Timeline: You’re engaged! Now what? Well, how long do you want to wait? A year is a good length of time to plan a wedding and will open up your options when it comes to venue choices, entertainment, photographers, wedding planners, etc. When booking a year out, sought after venue and vendor calendars tend to be a little more open and flexible. Regarding budget, we’ve been talking to newly married couples and vendors recently and have learned that it is wise for the bride and groom to meet with a few experts first to determine how to best utilize dollars. Perhaps the venue was a little less money than expected, but that caterer you really want is slightly more expensive. Talk to the experts regarding how best to determine your budget and then go from there. Hire a Wedding Planner: A common inquiry we see on social media today is, “We’re trying to save money. Do we really need a wedding planner?” For the sake of family, friends, bridesmaids, and all the people hired for the special day, it’s an overwhelming yes. The bride may never see the challenges encountered while she is in the

bridal suite preparing to see her groom. Behind the scenes, however, there is a lot of pressure, questions, and decisions to be made. The photographer, the caterer, the florist, the baker, the DJ, the rental companies, the venue facilitator…coordinating the wedding doesn’t fall under their jurisdiction! 11 Months Make Your Guest List: If you’re receiving funds from either side of the family or both, you’ll want to take their guest lists into consideration. Determine the number of guests before you take any other steps. This information will help you decide on a venue, catering, rental needs, etc. Determine Your Wedding Party: Get creative when making those Maid of Honor, Bridesmaid, Best Man, and Groomsmen proposals! There are some super cute and easy ideas out there to make it a sweet and memorable experience. Book a Venue/Destination: Tour venues, explore scenic views, make a decision on an indoor/ outdoor venue, check capacity and whether or not a reception area is available. Some venues have exclusive vendor lists. Perhaps the caterer you want to use isn’t on that list. It’s important to have this information on the front end! Are you going the destination wedding route? Check

flights, hotel accommodations, etc. Tip: If getting married in August, keep the outside temperature in mind for your wedding guests when deciding on outdoor or indoor. No one wants to melt in August heat, including the bride! Hire Wedding Vendors: Get your florist, photographer, rental company, officiant, caterer, baker, videographer, and entertainment booked. Once these decisions are made, you’re on Easy Street for a couple of months! Tastings are fun! Decide on your cake flavor and style, food theme and choice, flower colors, etc. Tip: When booking a caterer, be sure to discuss the Rehearsal Dinner. For ease and convenience, it might make sense for you to hand it all over to one entity. 9 Months Buy Your Wedding Dress: Confess…you’ve already been looking! Make it a celebration! Invite your closest girlfriends and family on a day that you will never forget. Complete Gift Registries. 5 Months Book Your Honeymoon: Planning your honeymoon is one of the funnest parts you get to do TOGETHER! This marks the first week or two of your lives as one. Have fun, make it unique to you as a couple, and be adventurous.

Choose Bridesmaid Dresses and Groom/Groomsmen Attire: You’ll want to allow enough time for alterations. 4 Months Hair and Makeup Trials: Don’t wait until the last minute to determine who will do your hair and makeup. It’s a good idea to do trials with your hair and makeup artists to ensure you are on the same page. Just like your wedding dress, you want to try it on! 2 Months Send Invites: Whether going the digital invitation route or printed, you’ll want to make sure your guests have plenty of time to get this on their calendars. Wedding Vendors: Check in with wedding vendors/ planners: verify dates, time, and location. Write Vows. Finalize Rehearsal Dinner Plans. 1 Month Final Dress Fitting. Seating Chart. Marriage License. Confirm Honeymoon Reservations. 1 Week Manidure and Pedicure. Haircut and Color.
