Mattimoe to advise all clubs next year Sports Editor Earlier this year The Student Prints ran an article written by Max Filby in his Perspective On Politics column about how teachers want nothing to do with clubs and other Northview events.

Ms. Katie Mattimoe has taken this column to heart and chosen to take charge of any club in which another teacher does not want to. Not only does she want to take part in clubs, but will also take part in directing next year’s Cats Meow and also volunteered to hold Gatsby Day all by herself, she said.

“I love helping out after school, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside,” said Ms. Mattimoe.

She has also openly expressed her need to start new clubs here at NV as well, including the Knitting and Sewing club and the Dog Walking group.

“It has always been a passion of mine, I knit all kinds of things such as socks,” she said, “and I love dogs, all sizes and kinds.”

Ms. Mattimoe has had thoughts of also starting a Cheer-Nastics club.

Where she will incorporate gymnastics and cheerleading into one totally fun club.

“It would be awesome” said senior Sam Weisman.

She is also awaiting news whether Mr. Ed Schwerkolt will still be inc charge of the Rocket Club and Mr. Greg Christy will continue with the Math Club.

“I am not great at math and science, but I could rock those clubs,” she said.

Mars Club arrives at NV Staff Writer Calling all martians and earthlings alike, the Mars Club is blasting off and stealing Earth Club members.

Started back in the Noachian Epoch, the Mars Club is a simple organization with simple goals. Basically do the opposite of what Earth Club would do.

They are their own colony, filled with caring and loving members who all share this common goal of conquering the world and promoting Mars colonization.

Meetings are held in the vents above the Auxiliary Gym, a surface very similar to Mars. A pair of intergalactic space shoes are required for entry, along with the secret password.

To obtain this password, you must go through orientation, a grueling process that only the strong willed survive, according to members.

According to Cody Ramm (Mars Club Vice President), first you must prove that you speak the language of Galaxor fluently. This test is followed by a three week span in which you are

not allowed to drink, because water does not exist on Mars.

If you are able to survive this feat, you must fill out an application with your name and phone number, the step where many fall.

“Not drinking water, now that was easy, but that application, it was the hardest part of joining,” said senior Nick Messinger.

The main nemesis of this peaceful club is Earth Club. They don’t really do anything except for make t-shirts and eat meat, according to Earth Club President, Elizabeth Strick.

Most Earth Club members do not even like the Earth.

“The Earth sucks,” said Strick. The Earth sucks? Wow, way to show respect Ms. President. When asked, several of the members instantly made the transition from Earth Club to Mars Club.

“The Mars Club is basically ten times cooler, it makes the Earth Club look straight up stoopid,” said everybody in the Earth Club.

Upon further investigation into the Earth Club it was found that several of its members have shady pasts including not recycling, littering, treading too hard

on the earth and possibly even slapping trees instead of hugging them, according to the FBI. “I start forest fires,” said member Haley Hofbauer.

Forest fires are not the worst of it. An anonymous Earth Club member named David Navarre pollutes the Earth daily.

When describing his normal Saturday he said, “I wake up and dump nuclear waste into the Great Lakes and then I pour harmful chemicals on large fields, and then before I go to bed I turn every faucet in my house on to waste water, it’s awesome!”

Almost 90% of people voted Mars Club as the superior club in an online poll.

“The Mars Club is sweet,” said Bon Jovi, Elvis Presley, Mickey Mouse, and President Lincoln.

Mars Club is the clear cut winner, to join, just come to the orientation meeting on July 32 in the middle courtyard at Northview, there will be free cake and punch.

I will leave you all with the Mars Club slogan: “Never put your hematite in the Borealis Basin, or you may catch perihelion!”

NV’s very own octo-mom Mrs. Laskey to give birth to octuplets Staff Writer Near the end of this month Northview English teacher Mrs. Brienne Laskey is expected to give birth to octuplets.

From a recent ultrasound doctors concluded that there are going to be a total of four boys and four girls. “We really weren’t expecting more than one child,” said Mrs, Laskey. “But at least I will be getting publicity.”

So far the names in the rumor mill for the girls are Shirley, Bertha, Gertrude and Gretchen. The boy’s will be named Jebediah, Cletus, Ezekiel and Jeremiah.

When asked how she would handle all of the new change Mrs. Laskey said, “We have already looked into hiring Jill from Nanny 911, as well as exchanging

the two weakest babies for money from Oprah.” The babies will duel five minutes after birth to see who is the weakest link. The two weakest will then go to Oprah.

According to Mrs. Laskey, the babies will have their own cages 5 x 5 wide and will have plenty of Reeses Puffs to eat.

“I’m thinking about retiring with the money Oprah is giving us to a house in Hollywood where I will pursue my dream, acting,” said Mrs. Laskey. “My agent got me an audition for a voice over in the movie The Land Before Time 17, hopefully I progress from there.” When the babies arrive, without a doubt, they will be pampered by individuals and the inevitable paparazzi.

“I hope to eclipse the legacy of the last octuplet mom and eventually maybe have a clip on TMZ? The sky is the limit

who knows what is in store for me,” she said. Mrs. Laskey’s husband is thankful for the arrival of the newborns. “I will raise them to be Spartans from day one, by eight they will hunt lions,” said Ryan Laskey.

Mrs. Laskey is not the only Northview teacher to give birth to more than one child. NV Spanish teacher, Mrs. Lindsey Jurski, had an ultrasound that uncovered three babies. The ultrasound also discovered that they are all three conjoined by the hip.

This brings a question to NV students and teachers: is NV inhabited by some disease that causes teachers to rapidly reproduce children? In the next few months, EPA officials are set to come and take readings. From one NV student to another, I think it’s a form of swine flu.

NV is home to Chamber of Secrets Staff Writer & Business Editor Recently discovered behind the nonfiction section in Northview’s Media Center is a vast Chamber of Secrets underneath the school.

Students discovered the entrance passage upon removal of a very old, dusty copy of The Illustrated History of Magic, a book that has never been checked out by students. When asked to comment on the secret cavern, the NV librarians Mrs. Nancy Deye and Mrs. Julie Knous were speechless and wore shocked looks.

Upon removing the volume, the large shelf labeled 641.5-810.8 moved left to reveal a long narrow gap and a spiral staircase.

Climbing down the stairs, numerous cockroach shells crunched along with a human femur. Besides being caked with dirt and dust, the staircase had red marks on it. Upon further investigation using tools obtained from chemistry teacher Mr. Andy Roth’s room, the

marks were indeed blood.

The staircase continued down what seemed to be three stories before hitting damp ground in a small stone room with a hallway at one end. The passage descended miles deeper into the ground ending in front of a huge paw print carving. Because this seemed just like Harry Potter, multiple passwords were tried all ending in failure until the alma mater was sung. Few students actually know the alma mater so the choir director was brought down to perform.

The giant door slid open to reveal a massive cavern, the Chamber of Secrets.

The chamber extended for the length of a football field and ended with a huge carving of a Wildcat.

After 20 paces, the chamber started rumbling and the mouth of the mighty Wildcat opened to reveal a giant Michelin Tire Man which is the monster living in the chamber.

After the climb back out, Mrs. Deye and Mrs. Knous were ready to comment on the situation. “After 11 years of working in the library, I was surprised to see a student coming out of the chamber,” said Mrs. Knous. “The days at the library will never be the same.”

The chamber had remained closed for 25 years and only opened three years ago with the arrival of Principal Stewart Jesse, a direct descendant of Dr. Gorman’s mother’s side.

The mystery of the chamber extends as seniors continue to disappear. School officials continue to wonder if this is an effect of senioritis or the work of the monster under control of Mr. Jesse. He controls the monster, targeting anyone who wants to leave his beloved NV.

Teacher sings into American Idol fi nale Co-Editor in Chief The stars aligned as the votes were counted and the crowd awaited the announcement of American Idol’s final two contestants in this year’s singing competition. Upon the stage stood Northview English teacher Mr. Jay Ackerman, anxiously awaiting to find out if he had pleased America with his singing and dance routine to Hit Me Baby One More Time. Alongside Mr. Ackerman stood Mr. Rod Achter sweating bullets, waiting to see if the world enjoyed his version of Dirty by Christina Aguilera, according to American Idol officials.

On the far right of the pair stood, once again, American Idol contestant Sanjaya “The Hair” Malakar.

Finally, the lights dimmed, and Ryan Seacrest strolled across the stage

with his frosted hair-tips glistening.

“America voted and this year’s American Idol final two are…..” said Seacrest, “ Jay Ackerman and Sanjaya Malakar!”

Mr. Ackerman and Malakar rejoiced in a jumping hug, crashing into the judges table where Paula Abdual sat crying about that night’s amazing performances. Still holding his composure, yet visibly shaken Mr. Achter exited stage left, leaving behind his true dreams of becoming a teen pop music sensation.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mr. Ackerman admitted that he will have to give it everything he’s got in order to defeat Malakar.

“I’ve been putting together an amazing lineup of songs from all different genres,” said Mr. Ackerman, “I might even throw in a little Broadway music, I really like pairing dance routines with

my songs.”

Mr. Ackerman’s performances will most likely include versions of Kiss Me Through The Phone by Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em, Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden and a solo adaptation of Mama Mia, according to American Idol officials.

Mr. Ackerman will be the first of the final two to perform, following a combined number with Malakar. The two will sing a duet version of I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly, according to Mr. Ackerman.

Although no source has yet discovered Malakar’s choices for his final performance, according to Entertainment Weekly, he may be able to win just by standing on stage, swinging and teasing his hair.

Tune in on June 3 at 8:00 p.m. on Fox to see if Mr. Ackerman will make NV proud by bringing home first place.

, staff writer As I am entering my final days as a Wildcat, I reminisce of all of my times in high school. Although I will miss it, I’m ready to move on. From food fights to catfights my experience has been interesting. Dreams have been made and dreams have been crushed. My journey started off as a very tiny freshman, standing about 4’10 80 lbs soaking wet. Minus a few small regrets I wouldn’t change a thing that I did or didn’t accomplish like good grades. I did high school my way and I’m graduating aren’t I? My most vivid memory in my four short years is playing hockey for my all time mentor, Jim Cooper. Waiting in the hallway of the locker waiting to take the ice for a big game will be missed heavily.

The nervous feeling and determination is nothing like anything I have every experienced. During the beginning of my senior season my all time mentor stepped down and left a void in my last year of hockey. Out with the old, in with the new? So basically like high school. Despite a bumpy road Northview Hockey will be my fondest memory of high school. The statement “Hockey is life” is a true testament. The off ice antics will never be forgotten such as lighting a bag of poop on fire on the trainers porch or Kyle Hymore’s nerf gun battles in the locker room. No doubt was the journey short, but will be remembered forever.

One of my deepest regrets is not taking newspaper earlier in my high school career. Some of my greatest moments happened during newspaper this year and I got to spend the majority of this year on the pub’s couch.

Minus all of my bad grades, demerits and a failed math class, I feel pretty accomplished. No way would I have gotten through this year without the permission of Ms. Huey to let me chill in the Pub virtually every period, will you marry me? I was in The Pub so much that I haven’t

Through the span of this year I have made many new friends and memories with people in the Pub. Nick Ansara, Ali Sayre, Kayla Henderson and Jackie Walz and I have a quite vivid memory, ending with me falling 15 feet into a stream inhabited by no other than raw sewage. I went three years without saying a word to Nick and he has made up for it with his stories and his million words per minute, I also found out that he cusses like a sailor. Ali is always laughing at my jokes, and myself whether dumb or utterly funny.

I would’ve starved or worse had to eat lunch food everyday had in not been for Max Filby’s ability to get Chick-Fil-A and BK on a daily basis and of course Arby’s with Jordan Tomase. Without a doubt I would’ve died of sheer boredom had it not been for the raving rants of Andrew Miller and his ability to make everybody laugh, his dad Glen is also my hero. Elizabeth and Abbey Strick have also helped me, I don’t know how, but they have.

Chelsea Ulmer and I had a rough start this year but she showed

me that people really can change and now she’s actually nice.

From day one of freshman year Nick Rau and Brandon Ambrozy have stuck by my side hopefully we stay close. Nile Culver, hard to believe but it seems like he has immatured more than mature.

My best friend Sarah Sneider for all of the memories and a memorable trip to Florida, plus your family is basically mine too. Most of all I would like to thank Eamonn Reynolds and Tyler Puhl, without their influence on me I don’t think I would’ve been on newspaper staff.

I would also like to thank a few teachers that basically let me get away with murder. Mrs. Soldner always came to class with a smiling face and made me smile even on the darkest days. Of course Mr. Czerniakowski, the Stossel videos helped make life clear to me, and showed me that Starburys and Nike shoes are only different by price. Finally the two people I would most like to thank, Mrs. Knous and Mrs. Deye through their capital punishment and yelling, they matured me in the slightest bit. Oh and yes I signed the clipboard on my way out Mrs. Knous.

I’m glad it’s almost over.”

This is the end. It’s hard to believe four years have passed since my first day at Northview.

We all get to say goodbye. However, due to my condition my grades spelled FFFFFDF and I’ll be returning to NV in the fall. I used to hate the idea of having to forgo college to repeat everything that I failed. But then I got to thinking about all the perks seniors get and I’m excited to return for another year.

I’ll get to walk the halls as a super senior and see everything I would have missed. I’ll see – I mean feel the old gum stuck under all the desks, park way out by the football field and say hello to all the new juniors whose parking spots are closer and hear all the teachers talk about senioritis and how it’s the worst thing to hit high school seniors.

I’ll get to dine in a five-star restaurant everyday for lunch and carve dirty pictures in the desks modeled after all the other dirty pictures already on them.

I can stand with my face pressed against the glass and look out into the overused courtyards on beautiful days.

I get to jog a mile down E hall after first period government all the way to second period art class. I get to wade through rainwater on my way through B hall. I don’t know why anyone would

want to leave the treasure chest that is NV. Next senior year will be even better.

Then when I graduate as a fifth year I’ll get to thank all my teachers for boring me to death but still teaching me things, Mrs. Borchers for making NHS great, the art department (especially Seal-Roth) for helping me become an artist, and the newspaper for the 24 hour fridge access.

Next year I’ll get to experience senior-hood again and I’ll take advantage of it. This year I missed so much being isolated and sheltered spending all my time in the pub, not seeing classmates for weeks at a time.

I also could thank this year’s pub staff for being my only friends (I’ll miss you next year when you’re at college and I’m stuck in the pub): H2, Nick, Ali, Katie, Elizabeth, Jessica, Yianni, Alexxx (how many x’s?), Sam, Yelena, Max, Shelby (unless you hate me dear) and the rest of newspaper except Cody Ramm.

Hopefully after I finally graduate in a year we can hang out and eat pickles together.

Returning to NV will be amazing….

Who am I kidding, I want to graduate now.

staff writer This is Andrew Miller and this is my goodbye column, quite obviously. I have let you all know of things that really bother me throughout the year, and some of you agree, and others disagree.

For those who disagree, it’s mutual, I don’t like you either, so don’t feel too left out.

On a positive note, many great things have come out of this newspaper experience. I would like to throw out a few thank-yous to people who have been helpful throughout the year.

The first person I would like to thank is Adam Jurski, for always having the same emotions, except when it comes to NASCAR, which still stinks by the way. Even though we don’t agree on anything, it still has been fun arguing with you a lot.

Next is Yelena Zcdhekslchov, or however you spell it. Thanks for helping me with my math homework and newspaper pages, without you I would have been lost.

Cody Ramm, you are awesome.

Even though you always try to bite me like a weirdo, you are still a pretty cool guy.

Nick Wineland for just being awesome and doing jogging workouts with me. I would also like to thank my mother for birthing me and my father for doing his fatherly duties.

I would like to not thank Yianni because he wouldn’t give me his book cover and offered a poop colored one instead. I would also not like to thank Elizabeth Strick for being the cult leader of Earth Club, which will face it’s demise in the near future. The last and most important thanks I must give is to the Somalian pirates for defying the odds and defeating larger enemies time after time.

So overall, this whole paper thing has been an interesting ride and I am glad that I was able to take a part in it. I hope the newspaper remains strong and even though some people don’t “read the paper”, it’s fun to take apart anyways.

features editor Well seniors, we finally made it! I cannot express how much I want to go to college, even as I am sitting here, not doing my homework. Northview has definitely been quite an experience. There were a lot of bad times and bad things that I won’t miss, but despite this, NV has made me who I am and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I would like to thank all the teachers who helped me throughout the past four years, especially Mrs. Huey, who gave me a second home in the pub. Speaking of the pub, I would love to give a shout out to all my fellow pubbers, but that would take way too long, so I just want to say I love you all and that it has been so much fun! I also want to give a shout out to all my favorite classes this year: Government because P. Levfev is awesome, Spanish Five because it’s so much fun, Calculus because it is the best class ever, Literature because it is the best awkward class, and Biology because we all love pictionary. All of these classes have made this last year wonderful. I wish you all the best of luck in all your endeavors.

honorary Staffer Some may be aware of the fact that when push comes to shove, I am a true member of The Student Prints. I have won two awards at Media Day over my past three years “on staff” and enjoyed staying after school with newspaper to help them with the paper the day that it is due to print. Some also may think that I am a cold-hearted person who hates all but this is sadly false. I love people. Well, most people. I would like to thank all of my friends, acquaintances, enemies, teachers, faculty, and family who have gotten me through this rollercoaster experience (what an over-used metaphor). I appreciate (most) everything you all have done for me and hopefully one day down the road I will be able to look back and appreciate my high school experience even more. A list of people from the Pub who have affected my senior year are alphabetically (by first name) listed below.

Everyday I walk in the hallways here at Northview High School and I hear people talk about how much they absolutely hate this school. I think to myself why do they say that? It is usually because a teacher yelled at them for something they shouldn’t have done. Or because a teacher gave homework over the weekend.

But seriously what school doesn’t do this? If a school didn’t do these things then it wouldn’t be school. And personally I like school. It is basically a big hang out where sometimes you learn a few things. Sure, there’s work to do but if you make the best out of it its always a good time. And my four years here at NV have been nothing short of a good time. I always try to bring the best out of a bad situation, but sometimes it’s quite hard. However, when your friends with the people that I am friends with its almost impossible to have a terrible time. Whether we are arguing over some pointless topic in the Babcock’s’ attic or not being able to escape the stench of Dave after a few days of not showering or yelling at Alexx Klein in the “Pub”, we always find a way to have a good time. Having a good time in school however is the difficult part. But when you have teachers like Ms. Huey, Ms. Mattimoe, Mr. Cziernakowski, Mr. Ulrich, Ms. Comparato, and Mr. Budas like I did, you come to find that school can be somewhat fun. All these teachers plus many more have made school a good time for me here at NV. Am I happy to move on? Absolutely. Am I going to forget everything and wish that high school never existed? Absolutely not.

Jackie Walz – I have told you everything I have ever wanted to say to you to your face clearly because I am in love you with & obsessed with you in the most non-creepy way possible. And yes, you were put first on purpose.

Abbey Strick – You make me laugh a lot when you are put in uncomfortable situations.

Alexx Klein – Remember that one time when I used to legit hate you but now I am just mean to you for no reason?!

Ali Sayre – You’re by far my better half regardless of whether or not we are currently in a fist fight. RKR me.

Brian Wadsworth – Although you showed up in the middle of the year because you were in “Canada” (so that’s what they call it these days), I enjoy making you sit there & take it while I crack jokes at you.

Cast of Lost – Thank you for keeping my sanity (or insanity) during my four years at Northview. Jackie Walz says thanks too.

Chelsea Ulmer – Well this is awkward…

Cody Ramm – I still don’t understand why you were scared of me for over three years of your high school career. One more word: Bromance.

Elizabeth Strick – Thank you for saving the Earth one horse at a time.

Haley Hofbauer – I will miss our American Idol chats from fifth period last year and

the fact that I judged you for your obsessing over certain activities.

Haley Nelson – I didn’t really get to know you until later this year but I enjoyed your calm ways and crazy college research sessions second period.

Halie Langhals – Great job skipping out on most yearbook things for newspaper or VCD. But I still like you.

Joe Mehling – We act as if we hate each other, which I am sure is only half true. But it’s okay, I’ve come to terms with it.

Katie Koffman – You have red hair. Just like Ron Weasley.

Kayla Henderson – K-La Rooster-erson, I will see you every weekend while you are at Ohio Wes only 45 minutes away from the Bus. Max Filby – Thank you for being my personal servant. I appreciate your loyalty.

Coming from a school with only 19 kinds in your whole eighth grade class, Northview seemed impossible to find your way around in. That was four years ago and now NV doesn’t seem as big at all. It’s hard to imagine that my high school career is already over, but my life is just beginning.

I came into Northview with my two best friends and I’m leaving with them too, I couldn’t imagine what I would do without them and everyone else I have met along the way. My friends here at NV have made my high school experience so much better, I can’t even think about what I would do without them. They always seem to make what could be the worst day ever, into the best day. I would also like to thank my parents for helping me throughout the years; you both have truly made me into the person I am today.

Mom, you mean so much to me, I don’t even know how to begin to thank you.

You have always been there for me no matter what, I don’t even know how to begin to thank you. You not only taught me to look for the best in others, but you also inspired me to believe in myself.

Dad, I love all the time we spend together, even if we’re going to run to Kroger for an errand or sitting in the car for hours on our way to a volleyball tournament. You always tried to make me push myself whether it was in sports or in school, which taught me how to work hard and achieve more. Even though I seem annoyed with your jokes, especially in the morning before school, those are the best memories I have an they always make me laugh. You are probably one of the most generous people I know and I couldn’t have asked for a better or cooler dad.

Nick Wineland, you are truly one of my best friends, you have always been there for me. You always know how to make me laugh and we never have a dull moment when were together. I’m going to miss you so much next year, but I know that we will stay close.

Northview has been such a great experience for me and I wouldn’t want to change any part of it. It’s scary to think that we will be leaving high school, because it seemed like it was never going to happen, but now it is. Even though I’m looking forward to getting out of high school, I’m going to miss it, but I’m excited to see what the future holds for me next. Congratulations class of 2009! We finally made it!

staff writer It is hard to believe that soon I will be crossing the stage and receiving my high school diploma. It is also difficult to believe that I will soon be starting a new school when not too long ago I was beginning high school.

While I am excited to start a new school, meet new people, and have a change of scenery there are different parts and people of Northview that I will miss such as the Pub, AP Biology class, and swim team just to name a few.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Ms. Huey. You have been such a great teacher for the past four years and I have enjoyed every class I have taken with you. In addition, it was so much fun to be on water polo and swim with you as coach this year.

Swim team has been an overall interesting experience from practices that seemed never ending to the daily unexpected things said by the boys. This year was such a great year and our team was able to persevere even though we lost both coaches, it was a major rebuilding season, and many people became injured. I will remember events from swimming such as something always being wrong in the pool, districts, my friends, the bus rides, and always being reminded which half of the team won NLL’s this year.

How do I even begin to describe a place like the Pub? I can’t... there are just too many things to say about it. Being on the publications staffs has been so much fun over the past two years. It has been one of the best things I have become involved in at Northview. I will take what I have learned with me to col-

lege and would like to participate on college newspaper next year.

There are so many people that have made my time at Northview memorable. First, the seventh period Pub lunch group- Ali, Nick, Jackie, Jessica, Shelby, Abbey, Yianni, Elizabeth, Cody, and occasionally Sam- which I will miss so much. I have never had so much fun at lunch. From the various conversations we had to laughing until those passing by in the hall claim they can hear us from A Hall. Second, all of the people I have come to know through classes over the years who have helped to shape my experience in high school. There have been many memorable experiences I have had this year such as NHS Blood Drive with Ali (the 53 donated pizzas…), Ali trying to make every issue of the paper for the past two years, the Hamlet Projects for English (Sam almost getting us arrested for the mask he was wearing), Pictionary in AP Biology (brings out the worst in everyone), Harry Potter Night of Mayhem at Nick’s house, Ali’s and Kayla’s battles of sarcasm, and all the other things that I may have failed to mention. Finally, all of my teachers who have positively impacted me over the years such as Ms. Huey, Mrs. Curran, Mr. Lefevre, Mr. Dubiel, and many others. I have been able to find my interests and learn so much over the years in high school.

I’m really excited to start college in the fall, but I will miss Northview. Life will be very different next year, but I’m looking forward to college and I will still keep in touch with my friends. These past four years have been memorable.

photo Editor I can’t believe that my time at Northview is coming to an end, Yeah, it’s sad but I’m sure I’ll find a way for my heart to mend.

High school had its ups and downs, Filled with uncontrollable laughter and those occasional frowns.

I have learned so many things from these crazy four years, All these things will help me conquer my outrageous fears.

All my memories are cherished from my time at Northview, They will all help me make it through.

First off, Ms. Huey, I want to say thanks I promise that in college I will wear nicer clothes, possibly tanks.

Always remember that whenever life gets a little rough, All you have to do is run home and watch every single Buff.

Being with Sam ‘N’ Ella on a plane for 8 hours was being put to the test, So Mrs. Seal and Mr. Creech, thanks for Italy, you two are the best!

Ms. Crosly I will miss seeing you at our spot, at the beginning of each May, You always find a way to make me smile; I will miss you every single day!

From watching One Tree Hill every Monday night, To laughing for an hour straight on a flight, Being cheer girls brought us together in 6th grade, I will love you forever Ella and your red hair in my memory will never fade.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing your face, Colleen.

I love you and your family; you’ve all taught me how to be a real Dean.

Pet stores, Kanye, Moogoo, soma and reading silently in the sun, We always make the best of what’s around and have the most fun!

It seems like yesterday we were watching Riggons, all three of us sitting in a row.

I will never forget the sleepovers at Noel’s lovely home, Mandy out at 8 and Kelsey’s hilarious pranks on the phone.

Kelly and I in the kitchen eating all the food, While Sampier and Rentsch are being the moms, resolving a feud.

These nights were all great and that house was our base, It’ll be hard to leave it behind, but I’m sure I’ll be okay in Lexington, right Grace?

Now lets move on to my great friend, Dave.

It’ll be weird without you next year, you are my best slave!

But seriously, thanks for always being here these past million years, I’ll miss you so much Biff, but I will not miss your obsessive love with Lebron and his Cleveland Cavaliers.

My time on the Student Prints flew by so fast,

Although it caused a lot of stress, I don’t regret a thing, I had a blast.

Thanks Max and Elizabeth this is all because of you, Well Yianna, Ulm, and the rest of the staff probably had something to do with the fun too.

Like my High School career, this poem is coming to a halting stop, No more waking up too early, or having last minute pictures to crop.

So I’m moving on, becoming a bigger Wildcat, shouting “Go Big Blue,” But Mom, Dad, Carl, and Jord, I promise I won’t ever forget growing up at the ‘Shoe!

Columns staff writer “Don’t grow up too fast Kelsey. Because high school is some of the best four years of your life and flies right on by.” That is something that my mom and dad had told me on the first day of high school. And in the blink of an eye, they were right, once a freshman already senior, graduation is only days away.

Coming into Northview as your stereotypical brace-faced, little freshman (well maybe not little since I was like six feet tall) I was scared, anxious, nervous and excited. I had just come from St Josephs Sylvania and most of my friends had divided up between the parochial schools of St Ursula, St Johns and St Francis. Although I entered the journey into high school alone and overwhelmed from going to a class of 80 kids to one of more than 300, I am leaving with some of the best friends anyone could ask for and memories to last my lifetime.

School itself is something else to be desired. I have not always been a fan of the absurd rules and “senior privileges” that do not even exist over the past few years.

Compared to other schools, our “senior privileges” are sub-par. However, the negatives have not outweighed the positives during my four years (and for anyone else they should not either).

As an academic standpoint, school has given me a chance to be taught under some truly special teachers. Teachers I wish could somehow follow and teach me in college. School has also given me a chance to take some awesome classes like Zoology, Weight Training (a.k.a upperclassmen gym!), Newspaper (had to throw it in there) and Visual Communication and Design (SV Class). School has also given me a chance to help out in a Social Skills class, with Ms Saverstrom in E-hall. There I have made friends, that without that opportunity to help teacher aid, I may never have met.

Outside these school walls is where my real memories are during high school.

Hanging out at bonfires, going to games, going to practice, eating raw cookie dough, painting cars, taking mirror pictures, beach volleyball, dress to impress dates, spring break ’08 and ’09, oven pizza’s etc. These are the places and the activities where I have nurtured and tended to the amazing friendships I have grown in. Without my friends (who know who they are) high school would have been a boring blur.

As we move on into college and split all over the United States, I want to admit I do not think I want to go anymore. I admit I do not know if I am ready to start all over. I admit as much as I have proclaimed I am ready to move out of my house, I am not. I admit I do not want to lose the strong bonds I have with the people in my life.

I am scared to start this journey to college, yet again, alone, anxious, nervous and excited.

When thinking about the past few years I automatically start to shed tears.

Northview is the school of black and gold And a place of good learning, so I’ve been told.

A place where many friends have been made Also where many class fees have been paid.

Here is where demerits have been received And where a few bad grades have been grieved.

Don’t get me wrong, there were many good times Like reading in English all of those rhymes.

There are teachers with whom I am on good terms But here I have caught a whole lot of germs.

I have learned how to write and how to read

And also in high school it’s not a good idea to breed.

Math has been taught, and science too Many times I have also been told to ‘shoo.’

All in all my time here has been superb So I say good-bye, and please read the following blurbSorry my goodbye column is not very deep or moving like some, but when thinking about my view on high school, it shouldn’t be deep or moving. Just sit back, relax and have some fun. Don’t be too uptight or stressed about everything, but instead fly by the seat of your pants. That is what I have learned.

So thanks to everyone including my family, friends, fellow students, teachers, and administration for everything. I have spent four years in this place, and it won’t be forgotten.

Co-Editors in Chief Fours years at Northview have allowed me many opportunities that I now wish to thank the people who were involved and who shaped my NV career.

First off, I want to thank Ms. Michelle Bogue for all of the hard work and time she dedicated to Earth Club. Also, I would like to thank the officer team consisting of Kyle Scharfenberg, Kelly Strick, Nick Ansara, Kristi Kopaniasz and Jordan Fleitz and everyone else who helped with meetings. Finally, I want to thank everyone who was a member off Earth Club and even those who were unofficial members (Kayla Henderson).

It was the members of Earth Club, both official and unofficial, who made the meetings fun. Remember, Earth Club is more than just trash.

I also want to thank the NV art teachers Mrs. Terri Seal-Roth and Mr. Ryan Creech. They have allowed me to explore my creativity and artistic abilities in a non-judgmental atmosphere. Their classes have given me the opportunity to experiment with different artistic mediums and their advice has always been helpful. Theoretically.

The final NV group I want to thank k is the Pub People. Every time I walk k into the Pub I am instantly greeted with a variety of smells from the microwave and somewhat genuine greetings from fellow Pub People. My free periods in the Pub have amounted to lots of fun including stool stilts, hours of sitting on the couch and dance parties in the darkroom.

Last but not least, I want to thank k Ms. Sarah Huey for being an awesome Newspaper advisor and for taking us to New York even though there were no snowball fights. It was still an exciting adventure. I also want to thank the entire newspaper staff. Their writing and dedication to the paper has made this year’s paper incredibly k successful. I especially want to thank the editors and all of the close friends I have made on staff. Thanks to Haley Nelson for getting me through chemistry and countless conversations about Mr. Salty. And thanks to Haley and Alexx Klein for our darkroom dance parties. Thanks to The Hoff for constantly making fun of me the entire

year. For their constant entertainment throughout the year, thanks to Chelsea Ulmer, Yelena Zhernovskiy, Jackie Walz, Nick Wineland, Abbey Strick, Yianni Papadimos and Andrew Miller even though he formed Mars Club just to spite me.

And of course thanks to Max Filby for picking up the paper in Adrian nearly every time it needed to be and being dedicated to the paper all year.

I want to not thank Cody Ramm for being the biggest jerk I have ever met.

Finally, I want to thank all of the people who get me

through day to day.

My family for dealing with me on a daily basis, I know it can’t be easy.

Thanks to my sisters, Miranda and Kelly, and my cousin Abbey for getting me through every obstacle that comes my way.

I couldn’t have done i t a l l without them as they make major decisions in my life for me.

Also, thanks to Olivia McIntee.

Even though I created her sophomore year, she continues to amaze me with her generosity and bitterness towards life.

To everyone I may have missed, thank you. This year, and all four years at NV, wouldn’t have been nearly as crazy without you. EAGLE!!!

I remember what it was like, walking through the halls of Northview headed towards a room called the Pub for my first period class, Intro to Journalism. Although I had only taken Ms. Flynn’s course because I thought it was a “blow-off class,” I would soon fall in love with the Pub. and desperately wanted to become part of the newspaper staff.

Four years later I am now typing my good-bye column on a computer in the Pub as Co-Editor and Chief of The Student Prints.

H i g h school,

e s pecially senior year, has been the time of my life so far.

Whether I was helping to plan an assembly, warming up my vocal cords in choir or putting together my newspaper stories together at the last minute, nearly each memory has been an enjoyable one.

In of the fact spite that I truly do love Northview, I am ready to move on to a college setting at Ohio University next year where I will be majoring in Journalism and Education.

The first person I would to thank is none other than our amazing advisor Ms. Sarah Huey. Ms. Huey has become one of the most influential people in my life, ultimately influencing me to want to become a journalist and hopefully a teacher sometime after a career in journalism.

I would also like to thank Mrs. Laskey for putting up with my constant event plannin planning procrastination and for lending her helpful advice after reading my storie stories before the paper went to print.

A list of teachers and faculty I also wish to thank include Mr. Lefevre, Mr. Ackerman, M Mr. Creech, Ms. Petersen, Mr. Ulrich, M Mrs. Borchers, Mrs. Meyers, Mr. Jesse, Ms Ms. Meyers and Ms. French for always m making Northview an even better place to be.

Of course I would like to thank the staff of The S Student Prints. I have become so clos close with everyone on staff in the Pub ov over the past four years and would not h have enjoyed high school nearly as mu much without the friendships I made throug through publications.

There ar are four Pub members that I must thank individually. Thank you to Chris Garo Garone, for being the best an amazing and determined Vice President.

Although I barely ba knew Chris at the beginning of th the year I am happy to write that he is now a trusted friend of mine who I plan on keeping in contact with for come. Thanks to Ali Sayre (and years to come for always being a big help her mom) fo and a good ffriend whether sitting at a computer in tthe Pub or walking through Times Square in New York. I would like to thank Nick Ansara for stepping up as editor” and whatever positions “layout edito he bestowed upon himself. Nick’s sarharsh sense of humor is one castic and ha forget in spite of the that I will never ne wasn’t always laughing at his fact that I wa jokes. Finally, I would like to Elizabeth without her leadership and conStrick, withou tributions, the paper would have ceased always hoped that Elizabeth to exist.
