elebrate the area’s agricultural heritage by attending festivals that feature fresh local produce, wines, hard cider, and craft beer. Scenic orchards offer pick-your-own apples and pumpkins, and are a great place for the kids to experience a day in the country. The 41st annual Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival has some exciting surprises this year, and a new location at the Frederick County Fairgrounds. For a taste of the cultural, try the German-inspired OctoBeer Fest or Hispanic heritage festival, Celebración, both in Old Town Winchester. The Clarke County Fairgrounds in Berryville will also be hosting a Native American event, The Gathering, which includes a traditional Native American Harvest Dance, educational kids activities, the Virginia Gourd Festival, and living history exhibitors. > SEE MORE EVENTS ON PAGES A2, A4-A7 <
