A new venture from the owners of the beloved Prestwich food chain Mozzarella, is Glida. Manchester’s latest ice cream parlour recently opened just in time for those hot summer days where nothing but an ice cream will do. Glida, named after the Hebrew word for ice cream, will be the UK’s first kosher ice cream parlour with a a Kashrus certification from Manchester

Ben Katzav, Mozzarella’s Owner said: “After being in the food business here in the UK for the past seven years I wanted to bring something new and exciting to my customers. After many visits to Italy and of course Israel I decided that the next thing to bring here is Italian Gelato. There is no other kosher place like this in the UK. I like to set the bar high when it comes to serving the best product made from the highest quality and freshest ingredients.”

Glida’s ice cream certainly delivers this high standard since all its ice cream is made fresh on-site using an authentic Italian method of fresh double cream and milk churned by Italian Gelato Machines.

The ice cream shop will have 16 flavours, including Chocolate and Pretzel,

Pistachio (Ben’s personal favourite), and Oreo. There will also be some unique flavours like Iron Bru or Malabi and Gin and other special flavours will be seasonally exclusive – so you’ve got to get to them quick! Glida won’t just serve ice cream, it also sells delicious Belgian waffles, crepes, frozen yogurt, bio yogurt, and a selection of flavours of Parve sorbet ice cream suitable for vegans and a great Shabbos Meal dessert.

There will also be plenty of allergen-free choices and for those looking for a glutenfree cone or waffle Glida have got you covered. There will even be some sugar-free options, so you don’t have to have a cheat day to experience amazing desserts.

And if you simply can’t wait to visit Glida in person to have a scoop of your favourite flavour, Glida will be using Uber Eats’ fast and reliable delivery service so you can have ice cream on demand. Glida is open Sunday to Thursday from 11am to 10pm and from 10am to 3pm on Fridays.
