In front of a packed Heys School in Prestwich, Maccabi’s dancers pulled out all the moves from the jive and the samba to the cha cha and the quickstep. The judge’s winner on the night was Dalia Warwick, dancing rock and roll to Proud Mary, with Carolien Lesser cha cha-ing her way to the audience vote. The night also featured a performance from theatre school, Footlights, and of course, the famous Maccabi raffle.

Adam Jackson, Centre Manager at Maccabi said, “I’ve been involved with this event for several years now and this must go down as one of the best. The energy and effort from our dancers really shone through and they did an amazing job of entertaining the crowd on the night.

“Thanks, must also go to Jane Clynes and all the volunteers on the night, who without them, we couldn’t put on these amazing community events.”

The support towards the event was evident as just under £17,000 was raised. Maccabi is currently undergoing a major refurbishment and all the funds will be used towards ensuring we can continue to provide much needed activities and service to the community.
