NUtech Ventures Communications Internship
Are you pursuing a career in advertising, public relations or journalism at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln? Join the NUtech Ventures team at Nebraska Innovation Campus! We patent research inventions and license them to companies, where they’re one step closer to becoming products that impact society
In this role, you’ll be working with our operations manager to develop content for a wide variety of projects, including email, social media, website, technology marketing, event promotion, feature stories and more. As needed, you will also assist with general office operations, including event planning and other outreach opportunities.
We’re looking for the following:
• Self-motivated students: We encourage you to bring new ideas to the table, learn new skills and take ownership of projects.
• Team players: We’re a small team and work cross-functionally to get things done.
• Well organized and detail-oriented: Someone who enjoys a variety of projects and can independently follow through to ensure completion.
• Experience in copy writing: Our projects include writing for websites, social media, email newsletters and event promotion.
• It’s a bonus if you have experience in: graphic design, photography, video, or Associated Press style writing (for news articles and feature stores).
• Current UNL student — strongly prefer junior or senior as of Fall 2025
What you’ll get:
• A yearlong internship that pays $15/hour, with the opportunity for $16/hour after a review period. The internship is 8 hours/week in the summer and academic year, with a flexible schedule.
• Office space at Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska. You’ll have access to office space directly above the Mill Coffee & Bistro.
• A customizable role with variety We’re looking for students who enjoy working on a range of different tasks, as well as those who want to bring their unique talents and ideas to our team. You’ll get to hone your existing skillsets, learn new ones and own projects from start to finish.
• A learning environment. We’ll provide hands-on experience and training. You will have access to continual professional development, including training from office staff and guest speakers, in a supportive team environment with other interns.
