Nurturing Our Souls NATURALLY! P u b l i s h e d b y : N u r t u r i n g M e - N AT U R A L LY ! Hello and Welcome to our very first edition of “Nurturing Our Souls— NATURALLY!” This publication may have taken a little longer to produce - unintentionally, but as it turns out the timing for me couldn’t be more perfect. It has provided the opportunity to put in place topics that I feel important that otherwise would have been omitted had this gone to print earlier. What Is The Publication About? It’s about providing and sharing news, tips, information and experiences within our community of which relate to, and bring awareness to, our Health & Wellbeing - with a little Spiritual influence. The publication is of a basic nature, supporting those just starting out on the self awareness, wellbeing and spiritual journey. We aim to delve deeper into topics as time goes by, helping you to recognise and understand your selfworth, and appreciating you for being your natural self.

As you are shifting you will begin to realise that you are not the same person that you used to be. The things you used to tolerate have become intolerable. Where you once remained quiet, you are now speaking your truth. Where you once battled and argued, you are now choosing to remain silent. You are now beginning to understand the value of your voice and there are some situations that no longer deserve your time, energy or focus Author: Unknown

All care and intent of sharing is with much respect an love for all.
...... and so, Where To Begin? Well, I suppose there’s no place to start like as they say, at the beginning! So let me introduce myself and the journey; the journey that has brought me to this point in life of wanting to develop this publication and to help and serve others in need of moving past emotional and psychological pain, self doubt and lack of self worth etc. Hi there, I’m DonnaLynn, I am much like many other women, having lived much of my life quietly and pretty much subdued, some might even believe, uneventful. Then there may be others who choose to see me as someone other than I have otherwise been perceived or even may have believed myself. I’m the second (and more introverted and spiritual) daughter of two beautiful and loving souls who devoted their lives to the best of their ability to their 2 girls and each other. I learnt to accept later in life that being an introvert is not such a negative distinction, but have rather begun to view and appreciate it as a more positive and necessary aspect of my character, especially considering the path I have now chosen to pursue. Both my parents (now in the arms of the Angels) loved and lived for each other and as mentioned, for both my sister (7yrs, 10mths my senior) and myself. Unfortunately, the same depth of love and devotion they had for each other, wasn’t, I’m led to believe, echoed for either pairs of my grandparents as sadly, they experienced pretty tragic marriages and the outcomes continued to devastate and affect each of the families for all the many years that followed.
Above: Mum and Dads’ wedding day 28th June 1952
We can never understand to great detail, another’s pain or life’s experience so I choose not to judge my grandparents for their choices and how those choices deeply affected their loved ones, as well as themselves, but rather focus on and appreciate any good that may have eventuated from those experiences and times. I hold great admiration for both my parents for choosing to rise above their parent’s tumultuous relationships and the infliction of enduring such physical and psychological trauma and abuse towards them. Mum and Dad provided both my sister and I the blessing of experiencing such a loving and unconditional family bond in the early years, I say early years as unfortunately the universal plan was not to see Dad live through to experience his senior years. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m sure they had their fair share of disagreements and lovers tiffs, as I know their road had many, many challenges placed before them, of which didn’t exclude long term terminal illnesses, and family out castings etc., which in retrospect, I’m sure made their union even so much more unique, stronger and loving. And although they, along with myself and my sister, would without a doubt have much preferred not to have experienced and witnessed these traumas and tragedies, obviously much preferring to have lived our lives much healthier and blessed. I now look back and acknowledge with much realisation how it all has developed and shaped my current circumstances, character and spirit, and how it without a doubt gave me the opportunity to appreciate at a very early age, the precious gifts in life that so many unfortunately choose to take for granted. Just a little about my parents before moving forward, for without them and their journey, I would have no foundation to base my story and live my journey............. Dad being one of 12 children, had 6 older brothers (5of which were from his father’s first marriage) and a younger brother, as well as 4 full blood sisters, many of whom inherited a seemingly “family curse” (Cerebellum Ataxia, SCA1), a form of Motor Neurone Disease that has affected our ancestors for numerous generations and will continue to devastate current and future family members until a cure is found. Dad survived only to the age of 46, leaving behind a young grieving wife at the age of 40 (who struggled through a deep depression after his passing), and two young children who struggled themselves to deal with the absence of their dad in their own seemingly “just” manageable way. He passed just one week and a day shy of my 8th birthday and when my sister was in her vulnerable and influential early teens. Aside from losing dad and many other descendants’ and closer relatives, we also lost dad’s daughter from a previous marriage; my ½ sister Sandra, to SCA1. Many never had the opportunity to reach their 50th year as it seemed common to succumb to this dreaded disease long before then. It was all too much for one Aunt that she chose to take charge of her own destiny by choosing sadly to end her own life prematurely. Mum’s story, aside from having been made an early and young widow at the age of 40 and having to raise two young girls without her husband by her side has been such an inspiration to me, filling me with feelings of such pride and tremendous gratitude for the sacrifices she made. Her courage, empathy and selfless care and love towards others in need certainly was and still is to be admired, although I’m sure this would have been played down by mum as she just did what was necessary and what she thought was natural and just to do. Many times we thought we’d lose her earlier than we eventually did, but she had a purpose and I’m sure she fulfilled it many times over. Mum was the 3rd of 5 children, and the eldest daughter of parents living in country, Victoria, Australia. If only she knew what lay ahead having this position in the family; the heavy obligations and responsibilities that this would place on her as a young woman, still in her teens, 6

You may wonder why I’d choose to open up and speak of such private and sensitive experiences. Well, I believe that in sharing our stories in good nature and with good intent, we can help many others in their healing too. We need not feel that we are alone in having to deal with certain experiences and challenges in life, as so many of us have been there before, and may still be working through things. Choosing to begin the process of taking vital steps towards healing, emotionally and psychologically, are sure ways to start living a much healthier, forgiving and loving life. We are not here to just exist and live in pain, we are here to work through our challenges so to live out our best qualities and life; learning from all the lessons put in front of us. I was so blessed to have had a mother who was sensitive, empathic, sympathetic and just so naturally caring towards others. She had many reasons to choose other ways to live her life, but she chose to live with greater meaning and serve on higher ground. All her life experiences and challenges, even up to the time she passed, could have made her a very bitter or openly sad person, but to the contrary, her chosen nature and character provided many others the relief of their own pain and suffering. So much so that her Oncologist when asked to speak at her funeral, was more than honoured to share his own story of knowing such an inspirational and beautiful woman - regardless of their occasional opposing life and medical views – but that’s another story! I’ve learnt a lot from my mum about Love, Loss, Patience, Compassion and Forgiveness, I only hope that I do her proud as I journey through life and fulfil my purpose here on earth. Someone once said that Life was not meant to be easy, and at times I’m pleased that that is the case, for if life was a piece of cake and too easy to navigate we would never realise our greater qualities; bringing forth the courage and beauty within to help us shine and grow. Never Let Any Circumstance Go By Without Attempting To See and Feel The Lesson and Purpose Of It’s Existence, For There Is Generally a Hidden Gift! Let the journey continue ............................. Love Light & Peace, Many Blessings

WINGS OF MY IMAGINATION
Once, when I was but a child,
My hopes intact, I fly upon
A thousand years ago,
Those wings so strong
Or so it seems,
Of my imagination.
My Heart was filled with hope, My head was filled with dreams.
But once again I must return,
I dreamed about so many things,
For earthward bound in my sojourn.
I had so many wishes. A puppy dog, a lollypop, a nice new dress,
But when on death,
Or if I could, a real good mark at maths.
My spirit it will soar,
Sometimes I’d lie upon my back,
Towards that boundless sky.
My earthly body I will shed, Upon those wings so strong.
On grass so soft and green. Imagination, Hopes and Dreams, My thoughts would fly towards the sky,
Then truly will be mine
I’d look at clouds so gently rolling by. And all the while, my spirit free, Would roam about. Imagination set me free, Gave me wings, so I could see Around the world, above the clouds, At spheres yet unfolded. But always, always I came back, My Spirit earthwards flew again, For I was bound by Mortal Chain. Now I’m older, still I dream, Still I look towards the sky, At clouds so gently rolling by.

Opportunities Healing & Growth .... Follow Challenging Times
When originally considering the idea of producing a publication, it was with the purpose of providing information by way of a “brief and simple” Newsletter for those who chose to be kept up to date with my businesses; Naturally Grace and Nurturing Me - NATURALLY! As time, imagination and the Universe would now have it, the Newsletter has somehow taken on a new life and new form; becoming greater in size and in topic, description and conversation.
see and feel the meaning, nor may it be in the near months or years that follow. Sometimes, unless we are open to realising or seeking such awareness, we may never have the privilege of realising each purpose, including that of our life’s purpose. Once we come to the realisation that everything has a purpose we can view life, and what it offers us, through new eyes and with greater appreciation and acceptance. It’s been my challenges of;
I feel that it is becoming and growing into, a resource of therapeutic value that will not only support and provide great value to my reading community, but that of myself too. You see, much of what will be created and posted to the pages will have been born from personal experiences, knowledge and wisdom gained from all my of 50 + years, actually, 57 to date. I have long held a strong belief that everything happens for a reason, whether the reasons be blessed and positive experiences or something of a less desirable nature. There is much to be gained from our life experiences, whether we consciously acknowledge the lessons and/or purposes or not. Reflecting on my life I now see much purpose in my challenges than I ever could have before - before when being subjected to the traumas and the losses that I then would have much preferred to have foregone in favour of kinder times. It’s not always at the time of the experience that we 9
parental loss (due to many years of long term illnesses and disabilities) experienced in early years of my childhood as well as in adulthood
loss of unborn children (having to accept I’d never hold a precious little miracle of my own in my arms),
experiences of depression,
being the black sheep (in life),
not being strong enough to stand up for myself,
not being accepted in social circles,
being victimised and bullied for many of my years.
It’s been my challenges of;
lacking self-worth, confidence and selfesteem,
living with fear almost daily; fear for many
reasons on many levels that “deferred” my personal growth, but it’s also been those same challenges that have given me the opportunity to feel with, and have empathy for, others that have or who are currently experiencing similar challenges. I’ve come to realise later in life, that life is full of challenges and trauma sent to test our strength and our character, as the Universe knows we are so much more capable of dealing with stressful and traumatic circumstances than we can give ourselves credit for. We are dealt these “gifts”, gifts for the want of a better word, to show just how much internal strength we do have, for without challenges “greatness” can’t be achieved. “To not have been touched by traumatic experiences means a person has not lived.” No-one leaves this earth without having gone through some sort of deep unexplainable emotional pain. It’s because of such experiences, I have been given the opportunity and privilege to offer help to others; offer wisdom, support, compassion and encouragement; offer resources and knowledge that may bring forth understanding for new and healthier choices as the journey of life continues to be navigated by Universal forces. Life and healing from pain for each of us is as unique and precious as you and I. Our perceptions and memories of a particular incident or stage in life may differ greatly from that of others who may have walked with us, walked beside us, at that time. My belief is that nothing is EXACTLY the same, similar maybe, but never exactly the same, as nothing nor no-one is identical. There will always be something at a cellular level that determines a difference. So in understanding this, when it comes to finding a way to heal from life’s experiences and pain it’s not necessarily a one size fits all solution. The way in which we may choose to heal needs to resonate and fit with our “being”, resonate with us on a deep and soulful level. 10
No “conscious” time frame can be placed on healing as we each need to heal in our own way and in our own time. The Universe always has a plan and if we choose to resist the natural course we may lose sight of the lessons and opportunities ahead of us. For me, my chosen path for healing has been, and will continue to be, Spiritual, and experiencing the natural forces of energy healing. There has long been a common misconception and generalisation about Spirituality by many, with much of the judgement born from ignorance and second hand misinformation. But when our minds are open to exploring Spirituality further we learn that the reality is more to live a life where we choose to become present, more aware, more mindful, more grateful and more at peace with ourselves and the world around us. It’s a choice to place more emphasis on our very own being for health sake - as our body, mind and external environment etc. are effected and governed 100% our thoughts and decisions.
It was long ago that I came to the realisation that not one person could wave a magic wand to take away my pain etc. I needed to do my own work, I needed to be willing and responsible to play a major role in my own healing; by supporting and believing in my own purpose and learning from my very own challenges, as nobody has the knowledge nor burdened emotions of each challenge experienced as the one who so bravely lived or lives that experience. Others can of course support and guide us through the healing process but we need to understand and know that our schooling doesn’t conclude once leaving the traditional conformed method of education. We are constantly being schooled in life and we are always going to be tested, one way or another. Much, if not all of our environmental (external and internal) and physical challenges are the after effects, the debris, of what we have not emotionally and mentally cleaned up, nor dealt with or healed from.
These issues may stem from infancy or beyond, or possibly even more recent.
All this brings me back to why I just couldn’t produce a “brief and simple” Newsletter.
When we block out and suppress, negative experiences, our bodies have a way of storing up these energies (emotional and psychological pain), this is why we witness so many chronic illnesses etc. We even attach certain beliefs to our experiences, sometimes believing we deserve what we have or maybe don’t have etc..
I feel there is much to say, share and explore, more than product or service alone. In reality I see this publication as my personal tool of which to offer support, education, communication and direction for wherever the need may be required. This in turn allows me to be creative and expressive with the wisdom, knowledge and lessons I’ve gained along my journey.
Our bodies are attempting to tell us that we need to investigate our own psychological state and it DOES pay to listen to it, otherwise we’ll continue to pay with the pain!
My wish is that we all choose to live life more mindfully and more in awareness of our thoughts and feelings so to free ourselves of pain; emotional, physical and psychological!
It’s with my realisation and understanding that too many of us are going through challenging experiences, physically and psychologically, it actually seems to be in pandemic proportions, so where possible we need to focus on being pro-active in our solutions to greater health and wellbeing rather than have other people try to “fix” us. The more there is out there by way of reliable positive public support, guidance and direction - the more opportunities that are shown to be available to those previously unaware of such help or services available, then the greater the opportunity will be for promising outcomes relating to our self-improvement, our health and our well-being, collectively. 11
YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD & IT’S NEVER TOO LATE .... With each experience - growth and wisdom has an opportunity to follow. With each experience - understanding and empathy for others can be shared. With each experience - we have the opportunity to make a difference.

AHHH ....... HELLO SPRING!!
14
Nothing says “Hello Spring” more than a brightly coloured garden full of fresh new growth and blooming flora and fauna. Spring shows promise; promise of new life and opportunity. It can herald change and new experiences. It’s a time to say good-bye to the dark days of winter where many of us hibernated and felt less enthusiastic about venturing outdoors and into the cold. Spring is an opportunity to revitalise not only our environment but our bodies and minds too! Our senses become more alive and our bodies more spirited. Spring gives us the opportunity to witness the beauty and miracles of life in nature and within the world around us. Spring gives us a reminder for all the simple things in life that we should appreciate and be grateful for. It is with the changing of the season that I feel optimistic for changes occurring in my life and I hope that you too are blessed with feelings of the same. To help you feel supported in making changes for the better, towards the back of this publication I have provided for your personal use, a few pages to assist you in your daily and regular reflection, contemplation and planning. As the publication grows so too will that section, allowing for greater opportunity to exercise your personal growth. Should there be something you’d like to see added to that section for your personal use please feel free to put forward your request by messaging me @ FB

GOOD VIBRATIONS When it comes to energy, we may very well be familiar with the various energy sources available to us that power our home and our modern facilities and conveniences etc., but how familiar are we of the energy that exists within our very own body’s structure, our natural energetic life force? In this issue and in future publications, the topic of our energetic life force, and that of our personal vibrational frequencies will be explored and discussed in greater detail so to broaden our view and understanding for greater Health and Wellbeing. We can so easily take for granted our bodies and all that function within our shell while all seems well and in good working order, but it’s when we become ill or parts of our body tend to break down that we get concerned and may consider looking within for ways to heal our body - naturally! Although we’ve had the privilege of main stream education for 100’s of years, it’s never been more convenient, to a degree, to research and educate ourselves when it comes to our health and wellbeing than it is today, although much caution must be applied when doing so. The Western World has come far with Technology, Research and Development, but of course we still have much to learn. Acknowledging that we can now benefit effectively from blending traditional and complimentary medicines and modalities without too much scrutiny
18
is becoming much more prevalent today than it was years ago. Of course there’ll be resistance in some ways for many years to come, but it helps with science now backing certain practices that have long been successfully used by other cultures for 1,000s of years. Communities are requesting and preferring more of their practitioners be open in their approach to healing, and thankfully we are now seeing more GPs positively acknowledging and accepting this too. Thankfully ancient and native cultures continue to offer us their wisdom and understanding of in particular, their healing ways. So when it comes to our health and lifestyle it would be prudent of us to recognise the many benefits and therefore, keep an open mind when considering a method or system of healing and self-care. Charts on the following pages symbolise the 7 more prominent and commonly familiar energy centres within our body. There is a brief description of where the energy relates to any functioning body part or organ etc., and then how that can show up as an illness or ailment should there be an energetic blockage within us. In coming issues of Nurturing Our Souls— NATURALLY! there will be further explorations of our energy centres and how we can benefit from clearing any negative energy that may be holding us back from living a freer, more positive and healthy life. We’ll begin in the January/February issue discussing the Root/Base Chakra in more detail. Then we’ll move up to the Sacral in the following issue and so on as we move up through the body to the Crown Chakra. Until next time May your energy flow freely and your healing be healthy.

FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS EXPLORE AND EXPERIENCE YOUR HIDDEN STORIES ALONG WITH THOSE OF YOUR ANCESTORS REMOVING OLD WOUNDS, HABITS & PATTERNS
WITH LOVE Recently, I attended one of the most powerful workshops, if not THE most powerful, on an emotional and psychological and healing level, that I’ve ever attended before. I’ve been to many workshops and seminars over the years as I have a deep desire to learn more about myself, my challenges and my existence. I believe that I have a purpose in this life, as we all do, and so I’ll continue on with great enthusiasm to educate myself in the attempt to understand what my life, and life in general, is truly about. My thoughts and experience of this particular workshop is one of complete awe, and my drawn conclusion is that I believe everyone should share in the experience for themselves as there are really no words that one could explain to another just how energetically and emotionally releasing the tools can be. I became aware of the event only weeks prior to the workshop, as beforehand I had no idea about what the program was about at all. But with an enquiring mind I just had to register to find out what all this meant and what it could possibly do for those in need of such support, and I’m just so pleased I took the time and interest to investigate this process. In a completely safe and supportive environment I witnessed and supported those willing and ready to explore their own story and pain; grown women and men bravely faced and acknowledge their life story, and those of their ancestors, becoming aware that much of their pain, habits,

thoughts “burdens” etc. didn’t necessarily belong to them alone, although it obviously felt so. I felt totally privileged to have experienced such a weekend that was filled with so much truth, vulnerability and trust. Some of you may be aware of Family Constellations, but for those who are just beginning to learning about this, as was I only weeks ago, please stay with me as you may find that this is something you’d like to investigate further. I have yet to participate in a session that completely unveils my story, for as previously mentioned, when registering for this workshop I was curious and just wanting to investigate the process and play a supporting role for those who had taken the next step and chosen to explore their own story more closely and deeply. When sharing our experiences and stories I believe there is always someone else who can learn and benefit in some way from them themselves. This knowing was further realised when having participated in the recent workshop, witnessed each story strongly being felt by many others in the room as well as myself. The following further explains what Family Constellations is all about and how it can help us all. NOTE: The original text is taken from the site of the founder of Family Constellations – Bert Hellinger www.hellinger.com/en/home/family-constellation
The Original Hellinger® Family Constellation Bert Hellinger is the founder of Family Constellation, which he began in 1978. Today the Original Hellinger® Family Constellation is offered worldwide by the Hellinger®schule. It is managed by his wife Sophie Hellinger. (Bert Hellinger passed away in September of this year having lived into his mid 90s)
What's the point of a family constellation?
What
Often it is beliefs and convictions that we have adopted from our parents that keep us imprisoned. In the past, these beliefs were created in the subconscious and today they stand in our way. This prevents behavioural changes.
is
a
family
constellation?
It is a method that takes place in a group under the guidance of one person. It serves people to uncover the backgrounds of failure, illness, disorientation, addiction, or anything similar. Family constellation is useful wherever there is a direct need for action or decision-making. For who is a family constellation? Family - in all kinds of conflicts Couples/love - to maintain and improve the relationship Children - with all kinds of problems: school problems, illness, aggression, ADHD, addiction, bullying Disease - the backgrounds of health and disease Occupation/work - in cases of conflicts or failure as an employee or self-employed person Business & Management - communication, hierarchy, decision issues Original Hellinger® Family Constellation today finds applications in the following areas; Politics, Large corporations, medium and small enterprises, single companies Management and executive management, Universities, schools Courts, Hospitals And, of course, for all individual issues Family Constellation for what? Everyone lives, privately and professionally, ALWAYS in relationships. The family is the basis for every human being. One who wants to find their right place and their task in life must integrate the basic principles of life, as discovered by Bert Hellinger and called 25
the Orders of Love. The Orders of Love are universal laws of life, independent of skin color, culture and religion and the basis for the success of life on all levels. Original Hellinger® Family Constellation leads you to realize that it's never too late for a happy life. There is only one right place in the family for every person. Once you have taken this place, a new perspective emerges that make s you capa bl e of acti on .
In the Original Hellinger® Family Constellations our beliefs come to light, can be questioned and released. The decision as to whether you are ready to do so is made only by you personally. What is the Original Hellinger® Family Constellation about? Family constellations are always about being or not being. For everyone who has experienced and recognized this once, the inner movement is inevitably always forward, meaning towards life. Everybody knows that we have planned many things but could not put t h e m i n t o p r a c t i c e . Entanglements are solved and a responsible and happy life comes into focus. Through the liberation of the old unconscious bonds, true love, devotion, attentiveness, respect and dreams become reality. ————————————————————————
Personally, I believe no matter our age, Family Constellations can benefit all of us. It’s likely the older we are the greater the need, as we all can carry such heavy loads, heavy burdens from the past and the older we get the heavier they can become if not acknowledged, attended to or resolved. Understanding the power and witnessing benefits, I look forward to exploring my own story soon, and I hope you will too. DonnaLynn Weekend Facilitated by Edwina Van Der Westhuizen (Melbourne, Australia )
DEPRESSION AN EPIDEMIC? Depression and Low Self-Esteem concerns in our society are growing at such an alarming rate and no doubt, I believe, rates are much higher than records would suggest, as many choose to sit in silence and mask their battles from family, friends, colleagues; even the professionals. Causes for depression can obviously be many, stemming from either an emotional, physical, psychological or chemical state, and likewise in most part, from that of low self-esteem, anxiety and confidence issues too. It will be a mission of Nurturing Our Souls, NATURALLY! to investigate and share any information that will support the awareness and movement towards healing our community of such debilitating afflictions. I believe that if we are vigilant and proactive enough; attending to these concerns at an early stage, much of the violence, aggression, destruction and loneliness within individuals, families and our communities could be overcome, if not, the effects lessened to a much greater degree. If we could reduce the stigma of mental health and be more prepared to be in touch with the feelings and concerns of others, by way of education and empathy, those who are suffering, be it in silence or otherwise, may gain some hope for their own existence and future happiness. Understanding that these challenges for many may seem like a life time sentence, with research, knowledge and support, there can be hope.

COUNSELLING SUPPORT FOR HEALTH AND HEALING may change as you go, but if you’ve arrived with some goals in mind you can get to work on them right away. If you’re not comfortable with role play, regression or other suggested strategies (eventually you might be) say so. Take a note book, you may want to record insights and helpful ideas. It’s your session, you’re paying for it, a good counsellor will not be threatened by active questioning of the process. I asked a number of women about their preference of gender in a Counsellor, here’s what they said: Do Women Who Need Counselling Need a Woman Counsellor? Maybe. Right off the bat, whatever your gender and whatever their gender, you deserve a skilled Counsellor that you can develop a rapport with. Someone in a location you can reach, with reasonable fees and good skills and someone with expertise in the areas of life you are seeking help with. Most of us seek counselling because we have a problem, we’re in pain, don’t know where to turn or what to do and feel we need expert help. Remember, you are the expert on you, no one knows you like you know yourself. A Counsellors role is to assist you to find the strengths, knowledge and skills you already have and facilitate your using them to heal. How are you going to find this Counsellor? Ask your GP for recommendations, it’s sure to be a question they’ve been asked many times and they will have received feedback about good Counsellors from other patients. Google and Facebook will also be useful tools, many services specialising in women’s health and counselling can be found on social media. Look for reviews but don’t be put off by a lack of them, it may not mean much; people often don’t want a public announcement or record of the fact that they sought counselling. Ask trusted friends and family. These people are your support network and if you haven’t already told someone you trust what you’re going through now could be a good time to do so. Considering preparation and research can also be useful, what type of therapy/therapist appeals to you? Is there one in your area? If not, phone or Skype counselling can open up your options. When you get there don’t be afraid to tell the Counsellor about your expectations and goals (a good Counsellor will ask). Give that some thought before your first appointment. You may need assistance to clarify and it
30
On first thoughts I wouldn’t automatically think I needed a woman but on reflection I’d prefer it, I feel a woman counsellor would ‘get’ another woman more readily than a man. Laura, 25. I would use a male Counsellor but only if recommended by someone I trust. Cindy, 32. I don’t trust men. I think the risk of them abusing their position is too high for me. Kate, 23. I would prefer a woman Counsellor as I believe that a woman would better understand the issues that women have, more so than a man. Liz, 64. A woman can empathise with another woman. I’m not saying that women are better Counsellors than men, not at all, but they may have had the same scenario, struggles etc that they have healed and therefore can intuit the client’s situation better. Jen, 61. So, do women need women Counsellors? Again, maybe. It seems logical that a woman Counsellor will be understanding and empathetic and that most women would prefer to see one. You may just know that a woman Counsellor is right for you just as many women prefer a female GP, Obstetrician, and Gynaecologist etc. Research; match yourself to a counsellor, if you feel more comfortable with a woman Counsellor start there. It might also be very important to you to find a Counsellor with expertise in particular issues you’re dealing with such as parenting, relationships, addiction, abuse recovery etc, and in your area, this might be a man. Don’t be afraid to change Counsellors if sessions are not working for you and don’t be afraid to consider a male Counsellor if there is one you can reach that has a good reputation and meets your criteria. Above all, trust your intuition, your gut feelings, they are almost always accurate. Yours in Health and Healing,

The Sacred Place Within The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of men when they realise their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its Powers, and when they realise that at the centre of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this centre is really everywhere, it is within each of us. This is the real Peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is first known that true peace which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men. WHY POSITIVE THINKING DOESN'T WORK By Belinda Bucknell
Many of my clients come to me because they're at their wits end that their heads are full of negative thoughts. They can't seem to get control of their thoughts so they're exasperated and they say "I spend so much time trying to do the positive thinking thing, the affirmations thing and even visualisations but it doesn't work!" They say "I even meditate to get rid of them. And I'm so confused because I'm doing all the right things and they're still there!" And I agree with them completely! Negative thoughts ARE unhelpful and sometimes they DO dominate and take on a life of their own, and when we can't control them they have very little value – so yes, let's change them. My clients are right on the money you know. They're looking to improve themselves and they know they won't get to where they want to be without having a positive mindset, but here's what they DON'T know, and here's what most people don't know
Negative thoughts are NOT the problem.
They are the OUTCOME of the problem
They are the SYMPTOM of a deeper issue
They are the result of things below the surface
The truth is: negative thinking is the RESULT of trapped emotions and blocked energy. Emotional blocks are created when an issue is unresolved it's undischarged energy, STILL sitting in our systems. It's trapped; looking for a way out, that's why it's the same thoughts over and over; That's why it's the same feelings over and over, that's why it's the same pattern over and over. It's a memory or an event that's unresolved, undischarged and trapped in the system And that's the reason why positive thinking doesn't work. Positive thinking is the ultimate outcome, it's not a solution; it CANT be the solution! 34
Think of it like this: You're driving your car when you hear a clunking sound coming from the engine. You're alarmed but you really want your car to run properly. You don't want to think your car has a problem, so you really don't want to hear the sound. The solution? Ignore it. Turn on the radio to drown it out. But the sound just gets louder, so you wind the window up. And then over time, the sound just gets louder and faster. It's at that point you decide to address it by focusing on the positive things. Thinking it's a great idea, you think about the positive attributes of my car as a solution to the clunkiness. And you start looking at all the wonderful parts of the car that you love so much. "Oh, the colour of my car is wonderful" and "I really love how fast my car goes" and "my car has wonderful air conditioning"... Essentially, positive thinking ignores the problem and seeks to smother the niggling issue with positivity. Distract, ignore and smother. They don't address the REAL reason, the deeper reason, the negative thoughts are there in the first place. So, how do we get around this? My suggestion is we learn to address our issues at their core, not at their symptoms We need to dig deeper Because positivity WILL come. Happiness and ease WILL come. Lightness and flow WILL come. We just have to eliminate what's between us and it, FIRST Eliminate - not distract or smother Because, the truth is, a bandaid doesn't heal Unblocking the trapped energy and discharging the emotion at it's roots is what heals Guaranteed Every. Single. Time.

PLEASE JOIN AND SUPPORT OUR HOPE CAMPAIGN
100% of the profits go to our life-changing projects This 39 story can fit 150-200 words.
ON THE DAY I DIE On the day I die a lot will happen. A lot will change. The world will be busy. On the day I die, all the important appointments I made will be left unattended. The many plans I had yet to complete will remain forever undone. The calendar that ruled so many of my days will now be irrelevant to me. All the material things I so chased and guarded and treasured will be left in the hands of others to care for or to discard. The words of my critics which so burdened me will cease to sting or capture anymore. They will be unable to touch me. The arguments I believed I’d won here will not serve me or bring me any satisfaction or solace. All my noisy incoming notifications and texts and calls will go unanswered. Their great urgency will be quieted. My many nagging regrets will all be resigned to the past, where they should have always been anyway. Every superficial worry about my body that I ever laboured over; about my waistline or hairline or frown lines, will fade away. My carefully crafted image, the one I worked so hard to shape for others here, will be left to them to complete anyway. The sterling reputation I once struggled so greatly to maintain will be of little concern for me anymore. All the small and large anxieties that stole sleep from me each night will be rendered powerless. The deep and towering mysteries about life and death that so consumed my mind will finally be clarified in a way that they could never be before while I lived. These things will certainly all be true on the day that I die. Yet for as much as will happen on that day, one more thing that will happen. On the day I die, the few people who really know and truly love me will grieve deeply. They will feel a void. They will feel cheated.
40
They will not feel ready. They will feel as though a part of them has died as well. And on that day, more than anything in the world they will want more time with me. I know this from those I love and grieve over. And so knowing this, while I am still alive I’ll try to remember that my time with them is finite and fleeting and so very precious—and I’ll do my best not to waste a second of it. I’ll try not to squander a priceless moment worrying about all the other things that will happen on the day I die, because many of those things are either not my concern or beyond my control. Friends, those other things have an insidious way of keeping you from living even as you live; vying for your attention, competing for your affections. They rob you of the joy of this unrepeatable, uncontainable, ever-evaporating Now with those who love you and want only to share it with you. Don’t miss the chance to dance with them while you can. It’s easy to waste so much daylight in the days before you die. Don’t let your life be stolen every day, by all that you’ve been led to believe matters, because on the day you die—the fact is that much of it simply won’t. Yes, you and I will die one day. But before that day comes: let us live. Author: John Pavlovitz Blog: johnpavlovitz.com (Permission to republish permitted)

SOULFUL PETS & WILDLIFE As our pets and wildlife are also living, breathing soulful creations of the Universe, many of which bring us much delight, peace, reflection and joy, it seems only fitting that a place be set aside in this publication for these amazing creatures who also have purpose in life; both in nature and our domestic lives too!
But when it comes to a dog looking lost and hungry we have no hesitation in stopping; attempting to respond to it’s needs without a second thought.
Why is this so? Let’s begin with how our pets, in particular our canines, over the centuries have become our most trusted and loyal companions. They have a way of evoking an emotional sense within us, not unlike the feelings we experience with our loved ones, and at times their effectiveness can be felt on an even deeper level. They can impact our minds and emotions, taking full control of our hearts within an instant. We can see a person looking destitute and homeless and walk on by with no attempt to stop and chat, not even for just one moment. In many cases we choose to not acknowledge them at all, walking blindly past them as if they didn’t exist.
44
Generally speaking, why do we carelessly forgo the opportunity to comfort and protect another human being on the street, but then choose to take on responsibility and a duty of care for an animal on the street? Again, what is it that has us compelled to be emotionally drawn and bound to an animal? Be it healthy and wanting to play, or unwell, lost and looking for comfort and protection. Why is it that many people remark on how they prefer the company of animals rather than that of our own kind?
Isn’t it strange that although we can talk the same language as another human being, we can also tend to misinterpret, misunderstand and therefore judge them, which brings forth and exhibits a less than desirable mindset and existence of our own character. Whereas, although communicating with another species can be more complex, we can find ourselves living more harmoniously alongside these creatures and thereby be gifted with greater health and a sense of joy.
Could it be that we fear connection towards another human soul? Could it be that we fear becoming vulnerable and being responsible for another human being? Could it be that we fear having certain expectations placed upon us by this lost human soul? Could it be that we fear what we see in others as may be their reflection is a possible truth within our self? Could it just be that we have become too frightened and have chosen to disconnect from the human race for what is being depicted in the media? Could it be that we have just become fearful and less trusting of the seemingly disadvantaged; prejudging and then choosing not to understand their struggle and plight? Or Could it be that we each tend to have challenges and struggles enough of our own, without having the perceived burden of others placed on our own shoulders? It seems that an encounter of a needy animal, possibly someone’s pet, may be less threatening; physically and/or psychologically as, their needs are likely to be less complicated and possibly less demanding. Whatever the reason or circumstance, it brings me back to how pets and wildlife can have a heartfelt triggering effect on our soul. There’s just something that at an “energetic, soul level” has us universally relating, connecting and feeling so much more blessed for the experience of these heavenly creatures in our lives. We can sit and chat to a pet and they just listen; listen without judgement, prejudice, pretence or force of opinion; they sit and listen and just know how to “BE”!
45
With the positive effects animals can have on our emotional and psychological states it’s no wonder that pets are now accepted into nursing homes and the like, and it’s not just dogs or cats for that matter, as horses too are now privileged and being acknowledged for their gifts of balancing our emotional states and connecting to us on a deep psychological level. Emotional experiences can be acknowledged and the effects lessened, if not released completely. The Equine Therapy business is becoming widely practiced and accepted in many countries and areas of need; We are now seeing this therapy being welcomed in primary and secondary school curriculums as well as in the juvenile and prison systems; corporations are also benefiting by sending staff off to workshops for personal growth and bonding sessions.
It’s been well documented that people and in particular, children, who for one reason or another after having experienced a trauma, have shut down from family, friends and their community; unwilling/ unable to verbally or otherwise communicate with loved ones and in some instances, have done so for many years but have then later gained the courage or have miraculously overcome their obstacles by trusting in, and communicating with a pet or having attended facilitated Equine Therapy Sessions. I remember reading about one little girl, Emily, who seemed to be another forgotten foster child enrolled in a special needs school. She, along with her younger brother, had been taken from their parents and made Wards of the State by the courts and placed with foster parents. Emily, a thin pale complexioned child, was only eight at the time and terribly withdrawn as she had experienced much neglect and abuse in her short life. She couldn’t allow anyone to get close to her and would seek areas of which to be isolated from everyone else. Emily never spoke and other children left her alone. The only companion, piece of comfort for her, was a soft toy, a little threadbare fabric pony of which was in much need of repair and cleaning, but Emily wouldn’t have it taken away from her and all efforts to were in vain due to her wails of anguish and the time it would take to relieve her of her sobbing on any occasion. You see, that soft toy of Emily’s was much more than a soft toy to her. She held long telepathic conversations with her pony for hours on end, it was the only thing of which she would communicate to. Emily's’ diagnosis by professionals were; one mentioned, Autism, and another suggested, Withdrawal or Anxiety Syndrome at the least. Whatever the diagnosis, the symptoms certainly gave some insight to a child that was living in a very dark place ......... ........ But fortunately much was soon to change when one day Emily’s school visited an animal farm. The small animals were kept in a large open setting where visitors could interact with them, 46
some horses and ponies were stabled for riding, all ponies but except for one. A little Shetland gelding that had recently been rescued and taken to the farm was placed away from public viewing when the farm was open to the public as he was known to be a little skittish and unsafe. It was considered and decided that the little Shetland would never be suitable to be around children. At the end of the day when everyone was packing up and loading the bus it was noticed that Emily was absent. Steps were retraced but Emily was not to be found, that was, until a carer ventured off course to the barn where this little Shetland had been stabled. To the relief and shear surprise of the carer, Emily was found lying on hay at the feet of this little pony, her face only inches from his hooves and with her eyes now full of life and love for this beautiful creature. She softly sang as the pony was, as it seemed, in a trance listening to Emily’s sweet voice. This little pony who was deemed unsafe to be around children had formed a bond with a little child who too had previously been diagnosed with a psychological disorder. There is much to this heartfelt story which does have a happy ending, and with each time revisiting this story it still produces a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes; Emily left her toy pony with the Shetland and when reminded to pick it up, she mentioned to the carer that she had told the Pony he could keep it, “he needs a friend, he’s all alone, he needs it more than I do now” Emily replied. The day after the farm visit Emily’s foster parents rang the school with heartening news, saying that Emily had requested to go back to the farm, of which later she returned many times. Emily adapted well to life with her new foster parents, who later adopted her.
Two lives dramatically were changed forever, that very first day on the farm; A little girl learnt to trust and live again, enough to speak and use her voice, and a little pony gained a much needed understanding and valued friend. Horses are renowned for providing us some much needed and necessary feedback about our character and our capabilities; our strengths, our weaknesses, our vulnerabilities and our soul. They tend to mirror our own thoughts, feelings and habitual practices, we just need to listen and learn from their teachings. You don’t have to own a horse or even know anything much about horses to gain benefit from their treasured gifts and blessings, as there are well experienced and skilled facilitators to assist in the healing process. I know that I couldn’t live without my beautiful animals, as for me, to not have been blessed with these beautiful creatures in my life means that I would not have known the true meaning of a fully gifted soulful life. They teach us so much and without doubt, provide us with so much unconditional love. Owning a pet in early childhood can prepare us for many life experiences. As a child the lessons we gain from our pets are invaluable to a future full of challenges.

? DID YOU KNOW THAT
An adult brain weighs approximately 1.4 kilos
About 75 percent of the brain is made up of water. This means that dehydration, even in small amounts, can have a negative effect on the brain functions.
Just like the rest of your body, the brain needs a healthy diet, exercise, and the right amount of sleep to perform its best.
51
There’s a lot about the brain that doctors and scientists still don’t completely understand. However, they’re learning more each day. This also means that there are some amazing things you may not know about your brain. ? DID YOU KNOW THAT
The human brain will grow three times its size in the first year of life. It continues to grow until you’re about 18 years old.
The human brain begins to lose some memory abilities as well as some cognitive skills by your late 20s.
The human brain gets smaller as we get older. This usually happens sometime after middle age.

LIGHT OF HOPE CAMPAIGN MAKING A REAL DIFFERENCE SPECIAL NEWS FROM OUR HEAD OFFICE & LIGHT OF HOPE Last month the Light of Hope Home in India welcomed 5 new children to care for. Esther, Elijah, Joshua, Joel and David were all appropriately named by Mrs Fittler (founder of the LOH project) as soon as she got the news of their arrival into our safe haven. These precious little ones were homeless, wandering from place to place, begging on the street of Vuyyuru, as their parents were unable to take care of them. Fearing for their safety, a police officer took them off the streets and contacted our team at the Light Of Hope Home. The amazing team from LOH, led by Jetty Joshi, took the children in with open arms; gave them haircuts, a bath and new clothes to wear. Now after being fed nutritious meals and having a place to sleep, the children’s lives have been transformed. They are now, for the first time, learning to read and write and are enjoying every day at the Light of Hope Home.
“When we see their faces, I am so delighted and their expressions make me very joyful and rededicate my life for serving these children for the glory of God. Thank you Mrs.Sandra and all our Distributors for giving us this privilege to serve these children.” - Jetty Joshi Kumar

For many years Teresa was an Early Childhood Educator and an Australian Breastfeeding Association Counsellor. Teresa has a passion for all things that empower women in particular and holds with "We're all different, and that's a good thing, find those you intersect and connect with, that's your tribe". In her spare time she is a horse rider and keen explorer of small towns and places off the beaten track.
Belinda Bucknell is a Mind Body Coach, an Energy Practitioner and a healer. She helps people blast through the blocks that prevent them from feeling confident, empowered and fulfilled. She specialises in helping those with long standing emotional and physical issues that just won't shift. Whether it's mental health, PTSD, phobias or chronic illness Belinda gets to the underlying cause and rips it out by the roots to ensure permanent results. To achieve the freedom her clients are seeking, she utilises a number of modalities in her Energy Healing tool box- she is a qualified and accredited Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner, Reiki Practitioner, Access Bars Practitioner and Spiral and Emotional Clearing Practitioner. However, even with many tools under her belt, the one thing that makes her work so powerful is that she herself has overcome the debilitating effects of Complex PTSD and chronic illness. She has successfully navigated her way out of the difficulties her clients are experiencing and is able to confidently shine a light on the path to healing. Her first hand knowledge of trauma, the brain and neuroscience is extensive and she works at the intersection of the subconscious mind, the nervous system, as well as the energetic body for the deepest and most permanent results. Belinda's work is thorough, life changing and profound. She has a reputation for being the last practitioner her clients will ever need to see.

DonnaLynn is a supporter and promoter for inspiring women to be the best versions of themselves possible, as she continues daily to develop her own style of being the best version of herself too. As a daily practitioner of Spirituality and Personal Development, DonnaLynn aims to help others benefit from her knowledge, experiences and teachings. Being a great believer in having a purpose in life, it is with her passion that she encourages others to live their life purpose too. “As a young child and into my adulthood I experienced many challenges in life; lack of confidence and low self-esteem issues I understand only too well, and know that they have a way of holding you back, and sometimes, even paralysing you from achieving any goals and dreams that you may have. I now understand that my perceived misfortunes have been some of my greatest blessings and it is because of them that I choose to help others who have experienced / are experiencing similar concerns to that of my own. The Publication I feel is an opportunity to share, help and inspire others who feel disadvantaged and challenged in areas I’m so familiar with. It’s an opportunity to help those who feel isolated and challenged to open up to, and put trust in others.” “Being an Empath, I am sensitive to those around me and so can be “attuned to”, for the want of better words, other people’s “BS.” Sometimes I’d wish I’d been aware of this much earlier on in life, but then I understand my life would have been void of the many valuable lessons experienced as I’ve travelled this great journey.” I AM a proud advocate and ambassador for GRACE Skincare and The Light Of Hope Foundation. I’ll only ever put my name to products and services that I believe to be authentic and genuine, and associate myself only with businesses who pride themself with integrity. I ASPIRE TO BE

Colin Woodgate lives in country Victoria - 40kms south of Ballarat, loving the rural landscape and equally loving the art of photography. Colin originally focused on traditional landscape photography for a number of years chasing the perfect lighting and composition at all hours of the day and night finding it extremely rewarding and, when things went well (they didn't always!) very relaxing. “I slowly transitioned into sports photography as my daughter went through pony club including being part of a mounted games team which was a lot of fun. I loved taking images of the horse and rider at just the right moment as they sailed over a jump or went pounding through the water during a cross-country competition. From there requests came forward to do the official photography at showjumping competitions etc.. From there I found I was gaining interest from prospective clients with pets and so a further change in direction was imminent; domestic pet photography.” But it’s always been the love of the Australian Landscape that holds a stronger bond for Colin. CRW Photography Australia proudly stands by an ethic of quality standards, making sure the end product produces clients with something they’re happy and proud to display in their home. Landscape and Architecture commissioning works are also available for local prospective clients. 69
