We had the exclusive privilege to interview Sabrina, the founder of ‘SAB*RINA’, during her recent photoshoot for the clothing brand UNHAPPY SMILES. In this interview, we asked numerous questions, down to her basic profile, to know more about this young aspiring designer. A student of Murdoch university double majoring in Marketing & Web Communications - when asked about her happiest time recently, she nostalgically responded about a dance recital she had performed on stage a month ago. She felt ‘really alive and happy’ being able to share the stage with her friends and in front of a live audience, after the pandemic. Sabrina also mentioned that other than dancing, she enjoys exporing new cafes in town and taking #OOTD pictures for the gram. To know more about this inspiring creator, check out the interview in the link above.
THIS IS HOW YOU FALL IN LOVE:
A SHORT FILM This is how you fall in love: A short film stories the reminiscence of a student’s past lover. A bittersweet feeling of remembering a past loved one is an emotion the producer of this film, Sabrina, aims to evoke in her viewers. Sabrina has also made a dance film version whereby reminiscing the student’s past lover pans to a contemporary dance choreography which aims to evoke this bittersweet emotion further. Watch the two different versions in the links provided above.

ALL MY LOVE IS GONE:
A LYRIC POSTER
V I E W OT H E R V E R S I O N S
A collage made out of the prominent points in her life, Sabrina used this chance to ‘let go of her memories’ for the last time through this lyric poster. The lyrics to Blackpink Rosé’s B-track song ‘Gone’ is used to convey her last emotions while designing. This song is also one of Sabrina’s all time favourites. Aiming to evoke a whimiscal feeling, she wants the audience to ask themselves ‘Am I supposed to make something out of this collage?’ . Quoted by her, ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ - she intents the viewers to find their own definition and meaning to this collage.
During a recent 30 minutes challenge to design an edit, Sabrina used a profile photo of herself and turned the image to what she perceives a devil to be. Textures, distortion and bright neon colours were used to bring out the discomfort while viewing this edit. When asked, Sabrina said that she would’ve made some different changes compared to when she first edited this. We look forward to her next 30 minutes challenge!
