The site of this project was located at Pantai Bogak, Pulau Pangkor, Perak. The site was well known for its beach and water activities such as snorkeling and swimming. This a lifeguard watch tower plays a significant role to supervise and watch over the beach. TASK Students are required to design THREE projects concurrently, one from each of the positions of civic narrative, technics and poetics. This will be a canopy design for th eplaza area of the youth centre. Throughout the project, student should be able to apply the school of thoughts by referring to their chosen precedent studies.

PLAZA CANOPY|TECHNICS The chosen canopy to develop further is the Technic canopy. As we know, plaza canopy plays an important role as a sign of welcoming. In the purpose to promote the fun environment of the youth centre, the canopy will be placed around the building. Thus, the element that I developed from the precedent study ‘Sekeping Serendah‘ by Ng Sek San, is as below: § Using metal and steel structure § create visual lightness with open space § To promote inside out element and maximize natural ventilation Besides that, the space framing that helped this structural design to be stable was referenced by Ft Lauderdale Amphitheater.

Cyberjaya youth centre TASK Students are required to design an accompanying Youth Centre at the same site for which the Plaza Canopy is located at. By continuing the school of thoughts applied on Part 1 of the project, the technic, peotic or civic narrative elements should be engage in the youth centre as well. The youth centre inshould be responding woth the site by analysis the data collected during the site visit.

GROUP PROJECT Urban Design Placemaking TASK Students are required to transform physical environment for some areas in the town centre and to improve the walkability in Seremban. The main activities would be to provide spacfes for the public. The proposed site is located in Mukim Rasah district area which is one of the busiest places in Seremban Town.

INDIVIDUAL P R O J E C T TASK Students are required to design a public market hall building within an urban park environment. The main activities would be to provide and serve the community with the activities provided. Students are required to provide full design proposals incorporating findings from precedent study and site analysis. Site planning and design should intergrate the urban park from the project 1 and the proposed building as one development.
