Building legos in School-Age

Message from Candice As the summer comes to a close, I am overjoyed with all of the fun and engaging activities that took place over the summer for all age groups. Our teaching staff worked really hard Peeling corn on the cob in Toddler 3

coming up with engaging, community-based activities and projects. As we enter another season in MN, it will inevitably bring change and, in change, we get the opportunity to grow. I'm looking forward to seeing how the children grow, how the teachers grow, and as Cultivate grows this coming Fall.

Stay healthy and happy!

New Team Members Please Welcome our newest team member!

Hello this is Megan O'Connor! Hi! I'm a full time student at MSU and will be a sophomore this year studying biomedical science. I'm from Inver Grove Heights, MN which is about 10 minutes south of the Twin Cities. I grew up in Inver Grove my whole childhood with my mom, dad and older brother Drew. My favorite hobbies include watching/participating in sports and spending time with friends and family.

Hi, this is Lakesha Carter! I will be a senior at Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial this year. I plan on going to school for Occupational Thereapy and work with children, so I am very excited to get the opportunity to work here! I love working with children and watching them grow! Building those connections are very important and is something I am looking forward to.

Hi, my name is Lexi Leichtnam-Fitting. I am from Plainview, MN. I am going to MNSU for Child Development. I want to be a Child Life Specialist. I've been in childcare for about 1.5 years now. I want to work at Cultivate because of the environment and the core values.

Hi, my name is Jada Johnson. I am 20 years old and will be a junior at MNSU this fall. I am from Northfield, MN and I plan to major in Sports Management with a minor in Human Resources. In my free time I like to listen to music, workout, go shopping and hangout with friends. I worked at a preschool in high school and did multiple volunteering opportunities through my local Y and church. I am excited to start my journey at Cultivate and to meet new people. If I could describe myself in 3 words it would be charismatic, dependable and strong. I hope those values in myself reflect well during my time here at Cultivate.

Hi, my name is Tori Kmett. Hello! Tori here, and I’m so excited to be apart of the Cultivate team! I recently just graduated from Winona State University (Go Warriors!) where I received my bachelor’s in public health. I am now pursuing my master’s at MSU-Mankato in K-12 School Counseling. Though I will miss Winona greatly, I’m looking forward to moving back to the 507 area where I’m from (Saint Peter). In my little free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, taking my dog Wiley on walks, spending time at the cabin, eating sushi, bargain shopping and listening to my favorite music artist, Ben Rector. I have multiple years of experience working with kiddos – babysitting, nannying and my most recent job working at the Winona State University Children’s Center as a lead teacher. I’m now onto my next adventure here at Cultivate! My favorite thing about working in childcare is seeing and experiencing the growth of your child(s) firsthand – physically, intellectually and emotionally. I can’t wait to teach, learn and grow with your kiddos.

Parent Resource Pyramid Model Cultivate uses the Pyramid Model framework. The framework supports the development of children’s social/emotional skills and behaviors. The number one thing a parent can do to support their child’s social/emotional development is to lay a great foundation of emotional intelligence;
