Our Hygge Day + a Thanksgiving Meal

A two for one the day before Thanksgiving!

Hygge Day (aka Comfy Cozy Day): we invited all staff and families to participate in a centerwide Hygge Day and dress in their coziest attire! Along with inviting everyone to dress in their comfiest best on the last day ahead of our short week, we brought out all of our lamps and kept the lights low all day, and had calming music on in the community room throughout meals. While the International Hygge Day is actually on February 28th, we felt that it was appropriate to have our own Hygge Day right before Thanksgiving – the day we express or feel thankfulness. Hygge comes from the Danish language and means: creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere, enjoying the pleasant things in life with loved ones. Good for the soul, comfort food! A Thanksgiving lunch made and prepared for all of us (our team and children) by our Central Kitchen Coordinator, Liv Benson, and her support, Paige Walters. As an extra bonus, Mr. Stephan, our Property Manager, read each classroom a "bedtime story " during lunch! The perfect complement to our Hygge Day = cozy food + cozy attire.
