EachyearNugentreceives donationsoftoystodistribute tochildrenandfamilieswho mightstruggletogiveor receivetoysatChristmas.This yearwereceivedhundredsof toysfromoursupporters acrossparishes,schoolsand companiesandbusinesses.
Theygenerouslygavetheirtime tohelpsortthroughourToy Appealdonations,ensuring everythingisreadytobeshared withschoolsacrossourlocal communities,helpingtospread alittleChristmasmagicto childrenandfamilieswhoneedit most
Thisyear,Nugenthasdistributed almost800toysacross26 schools.Inaddition,wehavealso beenabletohandouttoysto familieslivinginhostelsand thoseatriskofhomelessness.As aresult,over400childrenwill receivepresentsviaNugentthis year
NugentPantryhasbeenrunningforfouryears.ItisbasedinStAnne's Church,EdgeHillandinadditiontofoodprovisionwealsoprovidearelaxed andinformalmeetingplaceforeveryonewhoattends;aplacetofeelsafe andwelcomed.
Onanaverageweekweprovidefoodto40people.ThePantryisrunona membershipbasis,eachmemberpayingasmallfeeeachweek,atpresent £5.00andinreturntheyselectatleast10itemsoffood.
NugentPantryisafast-pacedenvironment,withnumerouspeoplecoming throughourdoors.WehavedevelopedasystematthePantrytoensurethat peopleareseenquicklyandefficiently,whilstmaintainingafriendlyandsafe environment.ItisvitalourworkatthePantrymaintainsthesesystemsto ensurethatourmembersreceivefoodeachweek.
ThePantrycouldnotoperatewithoutourvolunteers,andwearehugely gratefultoallourvolunteerswhoeachweekchoosetosupportourwork.By volunteeringyourtime,youwillbehelpingNugentPantryprovidefoodto thosewhoneeditinourcity.
