SUSIE’S STORY Susie*livedatoneofourchildren’shomeforjustovertwoyears,shehada challengingrelationshipwithhermumbutlovedherlittlesisterHopeandherNan. Susiewantedtostayatthehome.FollowingadiscussionwithOfstedandthelocal authorityitwasagreedshecouldstayuntilsheturned18 Thismeantthatshe couldenjoyChristmasinherhomewiththeteamandherfriends,whoshehad builtpositiverelationshipswith.
Sadly,Susiewasrequiredtomoveoutofthechildren’shomeintoherownflaton herownin2021aged18
WhenSusievisitedourhome,theteamrecognisedthatshewas lowinmoodandself-harming.TheteamofferedsupporttoSusie.Itwasclearthat Susiewasstrugglingemotionallyandoftenstatedthatshewaslonelyandhated herflat Susiewouldvisitthehomeoftentoseeherfriendsandhavetea
In2021,SusiewasfoundlyingonLimeStreettraintrack,shewasquicklyadmitted intoapsychiatrichospital.Susiewasreleasedfromthehospitalto her independentlivingapartment.However,shewasadmittedbackintohospitalmany timesasaresultofwantingtotakeherownlife
InMarch2022whilstadmittedtohospital,Susietookherownlife.Ayearafter leavingthehome,aged19.
