Eveninayearthathastestedus,wehave hadmanymomentstocelebrate We launchedourstrategicplan,ImagineOur World,andrecordedourfirstImagineOur Worldpodcast,sharingstoriesthatbring ourlifelongpathwayofsupporttolife. Highlightsincludethecreationofa dementia-friendlygardenatLimeHouse, ourfirstHalloweenFamilyDaywithAintree RacecourseandTheJockeyClub,andthe openingofouryoungadults’servicesat HopeLane,SFXandHartingtonRoad We werealsoproudtobenamedEmployerof theYearatthe2025CityofLiverpool BusinessAwards;achievementsmade possiblebyallofyou.
Thisyearhasalsobroughtsomedifficult decisionsaboutthefutureofcertain services.Thesedecisionsweremadewith greatcare,guidedbyourresponsibilityto remainsustainable,protectourlong-term mission,andensurehigh-qualitysupport forthepeoplewhorelyonus.Iwantto thankthecolleaguesinvolvedfortheir
professionalismandforthecompassionthey haveshownthroughoutthesetransitions.
Ourfundraisingeffortshavecontinuedto inspire,fromtheNugentArcticChallenge, SleepOutwithNugentandtheGood ShepherdAppealtothe2025NugentGala. Theseinitiativesdemonstratethegenerosity andcommunityspiritthatsustainourwork andhelpuscontinuetransforminglives.
Lookingaheadto2026,wehaveaspecial milestonetocelebrate:Nugentwillmark145 yearssinceourfoundingin1881.Fornearlya centuryandahalf,wehaveadaptedtomeet theneedsofourcommunities,providing valued,life-changingserviceswithpurpose andheart

Dementia-FriendlyGardenatLimeHouse
Earlierthisyear,weunveiledsomethingtrulyspecialat LimeHouse:adementia-friendlygardenbuiltnotonly withsoilandstone,butwithlove,memory,andhope.
Dementiadoesn’tjustaffectthepersondiagnosed,it toucheswholefamilies.Itcantakeawaythepersonyou know,longbeforethey’retrulygone.Formany,it’sa slowandheartbreakinggoodbye.
Thisgardenofferssomethingpowerfulinreturn,asafe, peacefulspacetopause,reflect,andremember.A placeforfamiliestositwithlovedones.Tofindcalmin thestorm.Toreconnect,evenwhenwordsarehardto find.
It’sherebecauseofpeoplelikeDaveVerburg,who walked100kmacrosstheSaharaDesertinmemoryof hismum,Doris.WithsupportfromSutcliffe,hisjourney helpedbringthisgardentolife.
Davereturnedwithhisdadtoseewhathisfootsteps haveplanted,aplacethatwillnowbringcomfortto manyotherswalkingthepathofdementia.Fromallof usatNugent,thankyou.
