The Foundation for the Future

![]()

Dear Friends,
Forty-five years ago, North Texas Community Foundation was founded by a small group of civic leaders committed to shaping the future of our region. Because of you, that commitment has produced more than $550 million in grants strengthening communities across our region and beyond.
Everything we do is made possible by our wonderful fundholders. In 2025, donors established 43 new funds, creating new pathways for impact today and tomorrow. We also partnered with individuals and families to develop legacy plans that will carry their charitable intent beyond their lifetimes and create impact for generations to come.
This past year was a milestone. Together, we reached a record $67 million in grantmaking, a 42% increase over the year prior. Your generosity met urgent needs while also advancing long-term progress. Nonprofits expanded access to the arts, strengthened neighborhoods, created education pathways and supported economic opportunity.
Our 45th anniversary also marks the start of a new strategic plan focused on deepening local impact, strengthening partnerships and stewarding your charitable resources with care. The plan is designed to help the

Foundation fulfill our core mission: honoring donor intent while meeting our community’s most urgent needs and investing in its most promising opportunities.
Thank you for your trust and partnership. Together, we are building the foundation for the future.
With gratitude,

ROSE BRADSHAW PRESIDENT & CEO MEGGIE LOWY BOARD CHAIR

Legacy is not defined solely by what we accomplish in a lifetime, but by the lasting impact we create for the communities and causes we care about long after we are gone.
In 2025, North Texas Community Foundation received the largest gift in its history—an estate gift of more than $100 million from Beverly Hudgins Ray Parkhurst. In an extraordinary act of trust, her deeply intentional legacy was designed to create meaningful impact for generations to come.
Born in Fort Worth, Beverly was a successful entrepreneur known for both her business acumen and impeccable style. She earned a degree in business administration from Texas Christian University and successfully led multiple businesses throughout her career, including the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, California, and her cherished antique store, Beverly & Company.
As Beverly considered the legacy of her estate, she intentionally ensured her support of the community would live

on through permanent, endowed funds. Beverly’s confidence in NTCF’s long-term stewardship and ability to honor donor intent led her to entrust her entire estate to the Foundation. Her estate gift established five permanent, endowed funds—each created to shape positive change long after her lifetime.
As the steward of her legacy, NTCF ensures these funds transform Beverly’s generosity into sustained, long-term community impact.
Beverly’s endowed funds support animals, the arts, young women’s education, historic preservation, land conservation, and vulnerable populations.
In North Texas, mothers are facing higherthan-average maternal mortality rates. These tragic maternal health outcomes are compounded by fragmented systems, limited coordination, and gaps in access to services.
To address this crisis, Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker called on North Texas Community Foundation to bring community leaders together to better understand the issue. In 2023, healthcare providers, nonprofits, and local organizations began convening to examine the challenges and identify opportunities for collaboration. These early conversations facilitated by NTCF laid the groundwork for the Tarrant County Maternal and Infant Health Coalition—an aligned network focused on improving outcomes for mothers and babies in our community.
Building on this momentum, generous NTCF fundholders made an early investment in 2024 through the Foundation’s Fund for Good, providing $250,000 to support a pilot project with Best Place for Kids’ Parent Pass app. The pilot expanded access to critical resources for families, testing a practical, scalable solution while demonstrating the impact that targeted, early funding can have when paired with strong collaboration.
That combination of convening and pilot investment proved transformative for our community. These efforts ultimately led to the launch of the $25 million North Texas Maternal Health Accelerator. Now
“ We
recognize the immense value of this initiative in fostering sustainable, systemic change in maternal health care delivery.”
STUART D. FLYNN, M.D.
Founding Dean of the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU
operated by the Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at TCU in partnership with UT Southwestern Medical Center, the accelerator is advancing innovative, datadriven solutions to improve maternal health outcomes across the region.
By bringing partners together early and investing strategically, the Foundation helped transform shared concern into collective action to create lasting change in our community.
Thank you to the generous NTCF donors who supported the pilot project:

NTCF’s early convening and pilot investment through the Fund for Good helped transform collaboration into a $25 million North Texas Maternal Health Accelerator—demonstrating the power of collective action to drive lasting impact.
For the past four decades, Dan and Linda Dipert have invested their resources in the Arlington community they call home. Though both are transplants to DFW—Linda from California and Dan from Arkansas—their long-standing commitment to Arlington reflects a genuine dedication to the community that has shaped their lives.
As fundholders at North Texas Community Foundation, Dan and Linda use philanthropy to support the causes they care about most, with education at the center of their giving. They are longtime supporters of both the University of Texas at Arlington and the Arlington ISD Foundation, aligning their resources with initiatives that strengthen learning pathways and expand access for students across the city.
Their community impact has been solidified with the Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center, a state-of-the-art facility serving students from all six Arlington ISD high

schools. The center serves approximately 4,800 students every two days and offers a wide range of career and technical programs that prepare students for both higher education and the workforce.
Looking to the future, the Career and Technical Center is expanding to meet growing demand. Scheduled to be completed in September 2026, the newly renovated center will help ensure even more Arlington students have access to the training, resources, and opportunities needed to build successful futures.
Through their fund at NTCF, Dan and Linda Dipert support education initiatives that expand opportunity for Arlington students—helping prepare the next generation for college, careers, and beyond.

Maria Crane, Fort Worth Report/CatchLight Local/ Report for America

Recognizing the critical role journalism plays in strengthening communities, North Texas Community Foundation made a strategic investment in 2025 to fund a full-time reporter at the Fort Worth Report dedicated exclusively to covering nonprofit organizations and community impact.
Nonprofits across North Texas are doing vital work every day, yet many lack the capacity to consistently tell their stories or broadly share information about the services they provide and the needs they address. Dedicated reporting helps close that gap by bringing visibility to nonprofit efforts, elevating community challenges, and ensuring timely, accurate information reaches residents, funders, and community leaders alike.
This work also reflects NTCF’s broader commitment to capacity building by supporting nonprofits with the tools, visibility, and infrastructure they need to be more effective. Rather than strengthening a single organization, the investment bolsters
“
The nonprofit sector shapes our community in powerful ways, and the nonprofit reporter will bring greater insight and visibility to that work.”
WES TURNER Co-Chair,
Fort Worth Report Board
the nonprofit sector as a whole, reinforcing the ecosystem that allows mission-driven work to thrive.
By investing in local journalism, NTCF is helping ensure that nonprofit stories are told, community needs are visible, and residents are better connected to the resources that support a stronger, more informed North Texas.
NTCF’s support for local journalism extends beyond supporting reporting. By holding the fund for the Press Forward North Texas Chapter, the Foundation is helping donors invest in long‑term capacity for strong, independent nonprofit journalism across the region.

NTCF hosted our annual Community Matters event on March 7th at The Crescent Hotel. The 2025 program, featuring Mayor Mattie Parker, Ken Schaefer and Patrick Newman, highlighted conservation efforts underway to protect our region’s green spaces.
Our team participated in the Economic Mobility Action Network cohort, a hands-on learning experience that included visiting cities across the country to learn best practices in affordable housing, job creation and community development. Collaborating with peers nationwide, we refined our approach to strengthening our region for the long haul. The cohort was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

In October, NTCF hosted our fourth annual Legacy Society Luncheon, honoring the 134 donors who have entrusted us to carry out their charitable intentions beyond their lifetimes. We also celebrated the impact of the late Dr. Flora Brewer, whose legacy continues to advance compassionate solutions for people experiencing homelessness.
2025 marked the 40th anniversary of the Ella C. McFadden Endowment Fund. Since 1985, the fund has awarded more than $37 million to 13 local nonprofits, supporting education and human services throughout Tarrant County and carrying on Mrs. McFadden’s legacy of generosity.
Through the inaugural cycle of the BEACON (Building Economic Access, Community, Opportunity & Networks) Fund, NTCF awarded $590,500 in operating support to 22 nonprofit organizations working to improve quality of life through affordable housing, employment programs and other strategies that help commerce, culture and community thrive in historically disinvested neighborhoods across Tarrant County.
