Dear Girlfriend, I am a 30 year old engineer. I have my own place and I ‘m doing fairly well. The only thing missing is a wife. Don’t get me wrong, I date, but I have not found the one for me. Well, there’s one particular female I had been keeping my eye out for. I first laid eyes on her about a year ago at the Soul Beach Festival. About 6 months ago I saw her at the Club.. We danced 4 songs straight, I bought her a drink, we had a short but decent conversation and I dipped. I did not want to come off sweating her too hard and another female I had been dating was in the club too, so I had to lay low. I did not want to hurt anyone’s feelings. However, I watched her from across the room and I liked the way she carried herself. Some how she left before we had a chance to exchange numbers. After that, every time I’ve gone out, I was hoping to see her. Finally this past weekend I ran into her again. We danced, I bought her a couple of drinks and then we did the breakfast thing. This time I was not going to let her get away. I had been thinking she may be the one, but guess what, after breakfast and coffee she pulled out her cigarettes. I was so disappointed. I hate the smell of smoke. I have never even kissed a smoker. To me this is a sign of weakness and a person who goes with the crowd to fit in. Why else would you smoke cigarettes? This lady was everything I thought I wanted until I found out she smokes cigarettes. What do you think? I haven’t called her, but I still can’t get her off my mind. No Cigarettes Dear No Cigarettes, You ever heard the saying you snooze you loose. Go ahead and call her, before someone else does and you have to wait another year to get close to her. Don’t dismiss her because she smokes. People quit smoking everyday. Everyone has there little short comings and vices. No one’s perfect. At least her vice is on the surface and you already see what’s wrong with her. Do let her know you do not like the smoke and you generally do not date women who smoke cigarettes. Say it without being condescending. When I met my husband, he smoked and I let him know this was a turn off for me. He eventually quit and have been married for 39 years. My father smoked cigars all during my childhood, but he was a wonderful father and he was my hero. So I grew up being annoyed yet tolerant of smokers. That’s why I can truly relate to your dislike of cigarettes. It is a nasty, funky habit and reeks havoc on the teeth, breath, clothes, and furnishings. I hated all the cigarette butts and dirty ash trays. My all time pet peeve was seeing someone throw a butt out of a car window littering the streets. I really get teed off when friends come to my home and throw butts in my front yard like they got a genie who is going to magically come behind them and pick them up. On a positive note, most smokers want to quit and you may be all the inspiration she needs to succeed. A good thing about cigarette smokers is they are oral, which could make out for a real satisfying sexual relationship. Most people smoke when they are bored or nervous, maybe you can give her something else to put in her mouth. Always remember no one is perfect, not even you. So, don’t spend your whole life looking for someone that is because you may wake up at forty five and find yourself still alone looking for Miss Right. Then when you do select her, she may nick and pick to find all the reasons you won’t do for her. Believe me your choices get slimmer the older you get. Find and ask a 50 year old bachelor who once thought he was the ish.

Dear Girlfriend, We have been married for 3 years. We do not have any children and we get along fine. Our only problems have been financial...but lately we have been having a big disagreement. My wife is considering a career as a cop and I am trying to talk her out of it. She has her heart set on a new convertible. and she says she’s going to buy it this time next year. She is a very attractive woman and has many skills but she insist on giving this a try. I would prefer that she try something simple and much less stressful. Furthermore, let’s be honest, it’s a slight bruise to my ego. I already work a non tradtional position as a nurse and have to take all the jokes about it. I am not ready to here all the other jokes that will come with my wife being a cop. Do you think I am wrong to try and persuade her to do something else? Respectfully Switching Roles

Dear Switching Roles, You know I thought about being a cop when my children were young. Couldn’t you see me hand cuffing a man pushing him against the car and saying “You been a bad boy.” Or giving advice to the point they say “just shut up and arrest me, please!” The reason I thought about being a cop was because I needed a job that paid a decent salary. At that time I had not completed my degree, and it’s one of the few jobs that will hire you and pay you a liveable salary with a few years of college. It was a chance at a career and some decent money. So I understand how your wife feels. However I soon changed my mind when my father offered to help me finish my degree. Most adult career decisions are made in response to a financial need and what can be accomplished quickly. You are not wrong for trying to persuade your wife to do something else. However you are wrong for why you are trying to persuade her. You should be concerned about her safety but you’re more worried about your self, your ego, and this is not about you. She didn’t trip about you being a nurse. She had to deal with the sissy jokes about that. She let you do what you felt you could do to make a living. If she can get pass you crossing the norm, you should be able to do the same. Always remember that everything that happens during your marriage is not about you. This is about her and her financial stability. This is about her finding something she can do that pays. You can try to persuade her to do something else but if she makes the decision to become an officer, support her decision. If she tries it and does not like it, she can always quit. And it’s easier to quit if there’s not a big deal made about it in the first place. Well we both must admit it can be a very good career move from looking at the success of one of the most popular female cops in Tampa, Jane Castor, who not only went on to become Chief of Police but the Mayor of our great city I know you don’t want your Barbie doll stressed out and acting like Ken, but cute jobs usually don’t pay well. You can always help by assisting her in finding other options. Most importantly, remember this is her life and her decision. This is what makes marriages successful, when you respect each others’ decisions and support their endeavors. If you are supportive and lucky she may bring the handcuffs to the bedroom. Hey!!

that exists there, By the time Caleb is in high school, he starts producing music records and forms a rap group to promote his beats. This lands him in jail facing a life sentence. Miraculously, Caleb narrowly avoids losing his life and his freedom. With another opportunity, he struggles to get back on the right track and reinvent himself as a productive citizen, but can’t find a groove working 9-5 jobs. A Rising Star in the Nation of Islam, Sister Nayyirah Muhammad, a rising star in the Nation of Islam, was recently promoted to Assistant Student Regional Minister for the 7th Region in the Nation of Islam. Her new job entails assisting the Student Regional Minister in the Resurrection Process. The process includes the reeducation and reformation of the minds of spiritually, emotionally, economically mentally and socially dead people. She travels throughout the 7th region which includes Florida, Central & South America and the Caribbean. Introduced to Islam by her dad, her mother had the tradition of praying in. While going through a divorce her mother brought her to Sr. Student Minister James Muhammad when she was crying and alI she could hear was what Minister James Muhammad said, that “a pregnant women shouldn’t be bothered because the

e m o tions go into the b a b y. ” Though s h e didn’t join the Nation at that time, it was the introduction to the religion that filled her heart and that was all she needed. Coming into the Nation she was put on a post to train young ladies. Training included how to sew, keep house, rear children, how to take care of a husband, how to cook and in general how to act at home and abroad. These are foundational principles for the Black woman in the Nation. According to Sister Nayyirah, it’s been

a lost art in the African American community, so for 19 years, she has served as Student Sister Captain in NOI until her recent promotion. Minister Louis Farrakhan says you must be a student first and by being in that position of learning it keeps from having Big I’s and Little U’s. Sister Nayrriah has discovered herself in the Nation and believes her skills, talent and expertise helps to bring the feminine side of the teachings of Minister Elijah Muhammad. The ladies of the Nation recently put on a fashion show depicting the dress and headgear. The woman is covered from head to toe and in that covering It is symbolic to the covering of her mind. The headpiece represents knowledge, wisdom and understanding but a separation from the world because they are not of the world, but are in the world. This style of dress represents that they are disciples of the Most Honorable

Elijah Muhammad and students of the honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. This dress also, represents the ancestry dressing that has been around for over 400 years. Sister Nayyirah points out First Corinthians, chapter 11:5-6 which reads “5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.” To get the full context read verses 1 through 10. Now married to Brother Dawud Muhammad, Sister Nayyirah is truly a rising star in the Nation of Islam and a shining example to all the young ladies that she teaches and mentors. Nayyirah’s name means shining, luminous, bright & brilliant like a star.

Texting

A curious mom uses her new iPhone to text her daughter to ask a very important question. The text reads: What does IDK, ILY, TTYL mean? Before long, the daughter texts back, "I don't know. I love you. Talk to you later" to which the mom responds, "It's okay. Don't worry about it, I'll ask your brother. Love you, too."

Science Class

he 6th grade science teacher, Mrs. Parks, asked her class, “Which human body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?” No one answered until little Mary stood up and said, “You should not be asking sixth graders a question like that! I’m going to tell my parents, and they will go and tell the principal, who will then fire you!” Mrs. Parks ignored her and asked the question again, “Which body part increases to 10 times its size when stimulated?” Little Mary’s mouth fell open. Then she said to those around her, “Boy, is she going to get in big trouble!” The teacher continued to ignore her and said to the class, “Anybody?” Finally, Billy stood up, looked around nervously, and said, “The body part that increases 10 times its size when stimulated is the pupil of the eye.” Mrs. Parks said, “Very good, Billy,” then turned to Mary and continued. “As for you, young lady, I have three things to say: One, you have a dirty mind. Two, you didn’t read your homework And three, one day you are going to be very, very disappointed.

The Chinese Delivery

A Chinese couple named Mr. and Mrs. Wong went to the hospital to have a baby. Mrs. Wong had the baby soon after they arrived, and after they got to see their child, a nurse took it away for medical examinations. When she returned, she was carrying a white baby, not an Asian one. Mr. Wong was surprised and a little annoyed at the mistake and curtly told the nurse to go back and get their actual baby. The nurse insisted that it was the correct child, but Mr. Wong was positive that a mistake had been made, because, as he put it, "Two Wongs don't make a white." Page 16

My Fiance

A young Italian man excitedly told his mother that he had fallen in love and that he’s going to get married. He said, “Just for fun, Ma, I’m going to bring over three women tomorrow and you try to guess which one I’m going to marry.” His mother agreed and the next day he brought three beautiful women to the house. He sat them down on the couch and they all chatted for a while. After a while the young man said, “Okay, Ma, guess which one of these girls is the one I’m going to marry,” to which she immediately replied, “The one on the right.” “That’s amazing, Ma, you’re right”, exclaimed her son, “How did you know?” The Italian woman lifted one eyebrow and replied, “Easy...I don’t like her”.

The Butcher

It’s the day before Thanksgiving, and the butcher is just locking up when a man begins pounding on the front door. “Please let me in,” says the man desperately. “I forgot to buy a turkey, and my wife will kill me if I don’t come home with one.” “Okay,” says the butcher. “Let me see what I have left.” He goes into the freezer and discovers that there’s only one scrawny turkey left. He brings it out to show the man. “That’s one is too skinny. What else you got?” says the man. The butcher takes the bird back into the freezer and waits a few minutes and brings the same turkey back out to the man. “Oh, no,” says the man, “That one doesn’t look any better. You better give me both of them!”

Car Trouble

A woman’s car breaks down on a busy highway. She manages to ease it over to the shoulder and gets out and opens the trunk. Immediately two men clothed only in trench coats leap out and begin to open and close their coats, exposing themselves to the oncoming traffic. Pretty soon a police officer stops. “What’s going on here?” the cop asks. “My car just broke down,” the woman responds. “NO, I mean those two guys,” the cop continues. “Oh,” the woman replies, “they’re just my emergency flashers.”

The Facelift

A woman decides to have a facelift for her 50th birthday so she spends $15,000 and feels pretty good about the results. On her way home, she stops at a news stand to buy a newspaper. Before leaving, she says to the clerk, “I hope you don’t mind my asking, but how old do you think I am?” “About 32,” is the reply. “Nope! I’m exactly 50,” the woman says happily. A little while later she goes into McDonald’s and asks the counter girl the very same question. The girl replies, “I’d guess about 29.” The woman replies with a big smile, “Nope, I’m 50.” Now she’s feeling really good about herself. She stops in a drug store on her way down the street. She goes up to the counter to get some mints and asks the clerk this burning question. The clerk responds, “Oh, I’d say 30.” Again she proudly responds, “I’m 50, but thank you!” While waiting for the bus to go home, she asks an old man waiting next to her the same question. He replies, “I’m 78 and my eyesight is going. Although, when I was young, there was a sure-fire way to tell how old a woman was. If you permit me to put my hands under your bra, then, and only then can I tell you EXACTLY how old you are.” They wait in silence on the empty street until her curiosity gets the best of her. She finally blurts out, “What the hell, go ahead.” He slips both of his hands under her blouse and begins to feel around very slowly and carefully. He bounces and weighs each breast and he gently pinches each nipple. He pushes her breasts together and rubs them against each other. After a couple of minutes of this, she says, “Okay, okay... How old am I?” He completes one last squeeze of her breasts, removes his hands, and says, “ Ma dam, you are 50.” Stunned and amazed, the woman says, “That was incredible, how could you tell?” The old man says, “Promise you won’t get mad?” “I promise I won’t,” she says. “I was behind you in McDonald’s.

Cannibals

Three men who were lost in the forest were captured by cannibals. The cannibal king told the prisoners that they could live if they pass a trial. The first step of the trial was to go to the forest and get ten pieces of the same kind of fruit. So all three men went separate ways to gather fruits. The first one came back and said to the king, “I brought ten apples.” The king then said: “You have to shove the all of the fruit that you brought back into your rectum without any expression on your face and without making any noise or you’ll be eaten.” The first apple went in... but on the second one he winced out in pain, so he was killed. The second one arrived and showed the king ten berries. When the king explained the trial to him he thought to himself that this should be easy. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8... and on the ninth berry he burst out in laughter and was killed. The first guy and the second guy met in heaven. The first one asked, “Why did you laugh? you almost got away with it!” The second one replied, “I couldn’t help it, I saw the third guy coming back with pineapples.”

Sunday School

At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam’s ribs. Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, “Johnny what is the matter?” Little Johnny responded, “I have a pain in my side. I think I’m going to have a wife.”

Not Mary Poppims

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him (Oh, man, this is so bad, it’s good) A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
