Dear Girlfriend, I’m a twenty two year old that is madly in love with a guy that I’ve dated for the past three years and eight months, and for this past year on and off. Currently we are not dating, but we are still messing around. I feel like I’m a flower, he loves me, he loves me not. He suggested that we should see and date other people yet he gets very jealous if he finds out about me talking to another guy. I personally don’t think that’s fair. It’s like he wants his cake and ice cream with the cream filling! I know deep down inside he loves me but I think the committment part is his problem, what should I do. Flower girl
A man is not judge by where he stands in times of comfort and convenience but where he stands in times of controversy Martin Luther King Jr.
Dear Flower Girl, Honey he may love you but he does not love you like you love him. This man is still searching. When a man loves a woman, he does not want her dating any other person and would not suggest that. If he does make a mistake and say those words and you act on them, he will quickly change his mind. The man suggested you should see and date other people because he has seen someone else he wants to get with. By him telling you that, if you see him out, you have no reason to cut up and he is safe from the drama. You young women often confuse sex with being in love. A man sexing you regularly does not mean that he is in love with you. It does not it mean that you are his girlfriend. It does mean you were available and willing. This man will come back and forward and never commit to you, as long as you are willing to allow him to play his game and as long as he does not find the woman he really wants. Most men will sleep with you if you look half way decent and clean. Some men will buy sexual favorites from a prostitute or stripper off the street that they don’t even know. Some will even sleep with mentally retarded and disfigured girls, how do you think they get pregnant? So surely he will come back to you for some free clean satisfaction, especially if there are no strings attached. The only way he will not continue to sex you is if you are a threat to his new relationship with a woman who will not put up with his games and can see through his manipulations. Don’t let his acts of jealousy fool you. Most men act like that to throw arguments off of them and on to you. He has probably noticed that he gets a reaction from you when he acts like he cares enough to be jealous. If he cared that much, he would be with you and you would not be on a date or seeing another man. Flower girl you are being tried. Men are like bad children, they will try you to see what you will allow them to do. A man will try you to see if you are easy. They will try you to see if you are weak. They will try you to see if you will give them your money. They will try you to see if you are okay with being a number in their harem. Respect yourself, Don’t allow a man to treat you like that. Cut him off until he grows up and is ready to commit or else you may find him married to the one who demands respect and sneaking back to you when ever he wants to be a bad boy. Page 3

The Inspiration of FREDERICK DOUGLASS Donald Dowridge is an expert on Fredick Douglass
and does a one-man show on the famous abolitionist. He spotlights Douglass’ life on performing arts stages, in classrooms, churches, and at business events. His one-man show has placed him on stages in Detroit, Baltimore, Queens, New York, Florida and Washington, D.C. Douglass Dowridge shared how slavery took a mental toll on Douglass and how the abolitionist even considered suicide. In Frederick Douglass’s first autobiog raphy, ‘Narrative of the Life of Freder ick Douglass, An American Slave,’ Douglass describes the beatings and punished inflicted on him by his “master”, a White man named Covey. Douglass eventually fights back. “It took a toll on him. He had to build up his strength to fight his master back. His master had beat him so severely,” Dow ridge said about Douglass. From the autobiography, Douglass states, “Mr. Covey succeeded in breaking me. I was broken in body, soul, and spirit. My natural elasticity was crushed, my intellect languished, the disposition to read departed, the cheerful spark that lingered about my eye died; the dark night of slavery closed in upon me; and behold a man transformed into a brute.” “He was whipping Frederick every day to break him.
By: Darryl Barrs of Progran Success Magazine
Eventually he broke him. He was annihilated,” Dowridge stated. “His psyche was destroyed. Even when he became prominent, he was still dealing with it... He wrote speeches with a rebellious mind all the way until 1895 until age 77 when he dropped dead. He never
Slave Mentality
Dowridge notes that when he travels around the country, he witnesses the despair of fellow Black men, many of whom are impacted by the trauma in their lives. “You can see a greater picture of it when you travel to northern states. From the young brother to the elder brother, they’re in a daze, like they’re in a trance. They find themselves on the lower rung. Some are still living with the “slave mentality.” “It can go way back to the slave era, when in order to control the slave, you threatened them with a whip. You whipped them and set them up for total failure. The master is only going to control me. The only way I see my freedom is to be with God.”
Always Sharing
Whether through his Empowerment Seminars or Black History Lectures, Dowridge makes it his mission to present his messages in humorous, entertaining, compassionate and dramatic fashion. He also is
the author of 13 books, and has written volumes of poetry and motivational stories that he often shares in his presentations. Just this month, he was chosen to head the Hillsborough County NAACP’s youth program. “In mostly every setting I’m behind the mike, I get asked repeatedly about my childhood. What steps did I take to move on with my life? Kids want to know, and adults too,” Dowridge said, adding how adults “who are not incarcerated” still want to be free. “They are in their late 20, 30s, 40s, and even 60s seeking answers to their freedom from bondage. Something happened when they were 8, 9, 10 that’s depriving them. They’re paranoid of what happened all those many years,” he explained.
Donald L Dowridge, Jr.
After assailing to become the first African-American Manager of the U.S. Post Office, Donald created DLD Enterprises (Determined to Learn and Develop) in 1992. Twenty-Seven Years later, he is the ultimate Motivational Guru & Scholar, Author, Actor and Historian. What sets Mr. Donald L. Dowridge, Jr. apart from a crowded pack of motivational speakers is he is a remarkable and powerful presenter who is very humous, entertaining, knowledgeable, compassionate, dramatic and most of all, offers a message that is very powerful. His Topics include: Youth/Children, Empowerment, Leadership, Stress, Performance Improvement, Attitude, Change, Conflict Resolution, Foster Care, Youth Gangs, Positive Parenting, Overcoming Alcohol and Drug Addiction, Self-Esteem, Resilience, and Motivation.

Go Ahead and Get your Laugh On Thanks Barbara Days The Condom
She was admired for her sweetness and kindness. One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea. As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cute glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, They began to chat.. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist. ‘Miss Beatrice’, he said, ‘I wonder if you would tell me about this?’ Pointing to the bowl. ‘Oh, yes,’ she replied, ‘Isn’t it wonderful? I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know, I haven’t had the flu all winter!’
For the Love of Golf
Jim decided to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend. One evening, after the honeymoon, he was cleaning his golf shoes. His wife was standing there watching him. After a long period of silence she finally speaks. “Honey, I’ve been thinking, now that we are married I think it’s time you quit golfing. Maybe you should sell your golf clubs.” Jim gets this horrified look on his face. She says, “Darling, what’s wrong?” ”There for a minute you were sounding like my ex-wife.” “Ex-wife!” she screams, “I didn’t know you were married before!” “I wasn’t!”
The Dog
A woman gets her husband a dog. He asks her, “What should we name it?” She replies, “We should name it ‘Five Miles’.” “Why?,” he asks, “That’s a really strange name.” She replies, “Because that way, we can tell our neighbors that we walk Five Miles every day!”
Page 16
Sexist
The anthropology professor was well known for making sexist comments and jokes in class much to the dismay of the feminist female students. The women students got together outside class and decided that after the next sexist comment from the professor they would stand up and walk out of class in solidarity. The next day the professor, while lecturing on a certain African tribe, said: “ and you ladies will be glad to know that the average penis size of the tribesmen is 12 inches!” At that moment all the women in the class stood up and began filing out. The professor then said: “Wait! Wait ladies! The next flight to Nairobi doesn’t leave until tomorrow morning!”
Growing Old
Three old ladies sit in a diner, discussing their health. One lady says, “You know, I’m getting really forgetful. This morning, I was standing at the top of the stairs, and I couldn’t remember whether I had just come up or was about to go down.” The second lady says, “You think that’s bad? The other day, I was sitting on the edge of my bed, and I couldn’t remember whether I was going to sleep or had just woken up!” The third lady smiles smugly. “Well, my memory is just as good as it’s always been, knock on wood,” she says as she raps on the table. Then with a startled look on her face, she asks, “Who’s there?”
The Survey
Worldwide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was: “Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?” The survey was a huge failure, In Africa they didn’t know what ‘food’ meant, In India they didn’t know what ‘honest’ meant, In Europe they didn’t know what ‘shortage’ meant, In China they didn’t know what ‘opinion’ meant, In the Middle East they didn’t know what ‘solution’ meant, In South America they didn’t know what ‘please’ meant, And in the USA they didn’t know what ‘the rest of the world’ meant!
Golfing
An American goes to Japan to close a big business deal. The night before, he is very tense so he picks up a hooker in the hotel bar. She speaks no English, but they get their transaction settled and go to his room. In bed, she is wildly thrashing around screaming out a phrase in Japanese. The man figures she is loving it and tries to remember what she is yelling. The next day, he is playing golf with his Japanese customer. On the third tee, the Japanese man swings, the ball makes a beautiful arc, hits the green, bounces twice, rolls, and winds up right in the cup -- a hole in one! Thinking to impress his client, the man repeats the phrase he had heard so much the night before. The Japanese golfer eyes him and says, “What you mean.... wrong hole?”
Drinking Buddies
There’s a big convention of brewers from all over the world. At the end of the first day, Nils, Hank and Paddy go for a drink together to share their thoughts. They get settled at the bar, and the landlord comes over to take their order. Nils says, “I’ve worked for Carlsberg for ten years, so I’ll have a Carlsberg.” The landlord gets a glass, pulls a pint, and hands it to Nils. Hank says, “Gee, I’ve been at Busch for twenty years: I’m having a Busch.” The landlord takes a bottle from under the bar, opens it, and hands it over. Then it’s Paddy’s turn. “To be sure, I’ve worked at Guinness since I was a wee boy, thirty years ago, but I’ll have a lemonade,” he says. The other two look at him in disbelief. He turns to the landlord, shrugs his shoulders, and say “Well, if this pair aren’t drinking beer, I’m not going to be the odd one out!”
The Dilema
The boss has to lay off one person from his department and he’s narrowed the choice down to Ann or Jack. First he invites Ann in. The boss says “I have a problem, I have to lay you or Jack off.” She replies “You better jack off, I’ve got a headache”
The Cat
Tom had a cat that he loved so much that he would never leave it with anyone. Tom’s brother offered to care for the cat so Tom could have a much needed vacation. After being promised that the cat would be well cared for, Tom agreed to go. A few days later he called to see how his cat was doing. To his shock his brother responded, “Well, I’m sorry to say your cat died.” In disbelief, Tom said, “That’s a terrible way to deliver such bad news. You could have let me down slowly by saying the cat was on the roof, then the firemen were there, then oh no the cat fell. But let’s not talk more of such a tragic thing, how is Mom?” To which the brother responded, “Well, she’s on the roof.”
The Entreprenuer
A little old lady was walking down the street dragging two large garbage bags behind her. One of the bags was ripped, and every now and then, a $50 bill fell out onto the footpath. Noticing this, a cop stopped her, and said, “Ma’am, there are $50 bills falling Out of that bag.” “Oh, rats! Darn it!” said the little old lady. “I’d better go back and see if I can find them. Thanks for telling me officer..” “Well, now, not so fast,” said the cop. “Where did you get all that money? You didn’t steal it, did you?” “Oh, no, no”, said the old lady. “You see, my yard is right next to the baseball stadium parking lot. On game days, a lot of fans come and pee through a hole in the fence, right into my garden. It used to really annoy me and kills the flowers, you know. Then I thought, ‘why not make the most of it?’ So, now, on game days, I stand behind the fence by the knot hole, real quiet, with my shears. Every time some guy sticks his dingus through my fence, I surprise him, grab hold of it and say, ‘O.K., buddy! Give me $50, or I cut off your johnson!” “Well, that seems only fair,” said the cop, laughing. “OK. Good luck! Oh, by the way, what’s in the other bag?” “Well, you know”, said the little old lady, “not everybody pays.”

The Forecast
It was autumn, and members of a Native American tribe asked their new Chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild. Since he was a new Chief in a modern society and had never been taught the old secrets of Nature, he looked up at the sky and had no clue what to do. To play it safe, he replied to his tribe that the winter could definitely be cold and that they should collect firewood early, just to be prepared. So, the members began gathering wood. Being a practical leader, he figured he should also use the resources available to the modern society. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, “Will this winter be cold?” “As of now, it looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,” the forecaster said. So the Chief went back to his tribe and told them to collect even more wood. A week later he called the National Weather Service again and asked for an update. “Yes,” the man at National Weather Service again replied, “based on incoming data, this winter is looking to be colder than we expected.” The Chief was surprised, but again went back to his tribe, told them that this might be a very cold winter, and asked them to collect every scrap of wood they could find. One week later, the Chief called the National Weather Service yet again, hoping for a new answer. “Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?” “Positive,” the man replied. “It’s going to be one of the coldest winters ever.” “Really?” the shocked Chief exclaimed. “How can you be so sure?” “First,” the forecaster replied, “The Indians are collecting firewood like crazy.”
The Flowers
A blonde and a brunette are walking downtown when the brunette sees her boyfriend in a flower shop. “Just great,” the brunette complained to the blonde, “my boyfriend is in the flower shop buying me some flowers.” The blonde responds, “Why is that a problem?” The brunette replies, “Because now he’ll expect me to spend all weekend with my legs spread and my feet up in the air.” “Why?” asked the blonde, “Don’t you have a vase?”
Gold Watch
Bill: Where did you get that gold watch Joe? Joe: I won it in a race. Bill: How many people participated in it? Joe: Three, a policeman, the owner of the watch, and me!
Smart Travelers
Three engineers and three accountants are traveling by train to a conference. At the station, the three accountants each buy tickets and watch as the three engineers buy only a single ticket. ”How are three people going to travel on only one ticket?” asks an accountant. ”Watch and you’ll see,” answers an engineer. All of them board the train. The accountants take their respective seats but all three engineers cram into a restroom and close the door behind them. Shortly after the train has departed, the conductor comes around collecting tickets. He knocks on the restroom door and says, “Ticket, please.”The door opens just a crack and a single arm emerges with a ticket in hand. The conductor takes it and moves on. The accountants saw this and agreed it was a clever idea. So after the conference, the accountants decide to copy the engineers on the return trip and save some money. When they get to the station they buy a single ticket for the return trip.To their astonishment, the engineers don’t buy a ticket at all. ”How are you going to travel without a ticket?” says one perplexed accountant. ” Watch and you’ll see,” answers an engineer. When they board the train the three accountants cram into a restroom and the three engineers cram into another one nearby. The train departs.Shortly afterward, one of the engineers leaves his restroom and walks over to the restroom where the accountants are hiding. He knocks on the door and says, “Ticket, please.”

Immaculate Miracle
A woman takes her 16-year-old daughter to the doctor. “Okay, Mrs. Jones, what’s the problem?”The mother says, “It’s my daughter, Debbie. She keeps getting these cravings, she’s putting on weight, and she is sick most mornings.” The doctor gives Debbie a good examination, then turns to the mother and says, “Well, I don’t know how to tell you this, but your Debbie is pregnant--about four months would be my guess.”The mother says, “Pregnant?! She can’t be, she has never been left alone with a man! Have you, Debbie?” Debbie says, “No mother! I’ve never even kissed a man!” The doctor walked over to the window and stared outside. About five minutes passed before the mother said, “Is there something wrong out there, doctor?” The doctor replied, “No, not at it. It’s just that the last time anything like this happened, a star appeared in the east and three wise men came over the hill. I’m not going to miss it this time around!
