Dear Girlfriend, I have been picking up your paper downtown, but I first heard about you when I was a teen and you were on Q-105. It was nice to find you again. I am 33 years old and have been living with a man for 4 years. My problem is... he does not want to grow up. His good points are that he is very nice looking and intelligent. He does not do drugs (never has and he very seldom drinks (and that is very important to me). He is very good with my nieces and nephews and my family likes him a lot. The bad point is he is like a kid. He will be 35 in March and all he wants to do is play games; basketball, chess, playstation etc... Lately he has only worked part time and money is scarce which adds to my frustration. I am a hard worker and always have been. I have a 4 year degree and a year of graduate school and managed to work through school. He seems to have no drive to get a full time job. And puts everything important off until the future. I feel the future is here. It’s been 4 years! This letter stemmed from an emotional day at work. I called home to say Hi to break the tension. I asked what he was up to and he replied “ohh just watching some tv.” I then asked if he could replace the light bulb on the porch (which I had asked at least 5 times before). And maybe if he felt like it, would he get up the leaves that were piled up on the side of my house. He had raked them earlier (I thought) with the intention of placing them in the trash but the trash was full. Well to my disappointment that seems to be too much for him to do. He said “why don’t you do it?” My thoughts were, because I am at work and you are not and I do everything else. Instead I said “I do not want to put up with you anymore and hung up.” Obviously, there’s a lot more to this and it’s becoming more of an issue for me. He truly feels that our relationship is great and nothing is wrong. How do I handle this? I want my man, but I want him to be a better man. Dear I want him to be a Better man, First of all you can’t teach him to be a man. His daddy was supposed to do that, but I bet he doesn’t have one. This is how men who did not have father’s in their home have a tendency to act. As boys they were so used to seeing their mothers do everything to care for the family and they sometimes have the roles confused. He’s intelligent alright, intelligent enough to make you do the majority of the work and pay the majority of the bills. Tell him it’s becoming hard for you to respect him and you feel as if he is living off you. Tell him a man with a part-time job can only be your part-time man. Let him know there are certain requirements to be with you, let him meet those requirements. Men do rise to the occasion, it’s their nature. The real problem is there are too many of you desperate women out there willing to take care of a man just to be in a relationship. Since he is not your husband or fiance, and is only your boyfriend, tell him he has had 4 years to decide if he wanted to be with you, so his free ride is over and send that big kid back to his mother. Tell him you love him but he has got to go, and if he decides he wants you, he has to come correct. That’s with a job, a ring, and then you give him a wedding date. If he is not willing to do that for you, he doesn’t want you. He wants what you have to offer, a place to live. If he’s not going to attempt to give as much as you give, he needs to leave so you can be with a man that will. One that wants you and is willing to prove it now, not in the future. Your man is not going to grow up until you do. Be an adult and stop playing house.

Jazz on the Lawn Project LINK, Inc. and What We Could Be Exchange, Inc. (WWCB) are excited to announce the third annual Jazz on the Lawn community fundraiser. The event is slated for Mar. 12 at the Riverwalk STEM Academy outside Just Elementary School at 11:00 A.M. Jazz on the Lawn is a fun-filled day for the Tampa community featuring local jazz and entertainment, interactive games for adults and children, and business and food vendors in a designated shopping area. The coronavirus pandemic forced organizers to cancel the event in 2020 and 2021. “We are excited to welcome the community back to a fun, safe, family-friendly event. People can support local businesses, enjoy the sounds of smooth Jazz and help the local community,” said Jeannette Bradley founder of WWCB. “With the help from this year title sponsor: Business Plans Plus, LLC, and the community we are back and eager to give the community something positive The Jazz on the Lawn music festival headline is an international saxophonist and Blake High School Alumni, BK Jackson. Other per-

This event serves as a fundraiser to improve the lives of students, their families, and disadvantaged residents in the East and West Tampa communities. All Love Tampa Get Kids on Bikes Inc. Sean Bell, local barber and owner of Cantagious Barber Shop has given up the clippers to focus on his love for biking. I told my boss three companies were after me and I needed a raise to stay at my job. We haggled for a few minutes and he gave me a 5% raise. Leaving his office, he stopped and asked me, “By the way, which companies are after you?” I responded, “The gas, electric, and cable company.”
The $2,000 Parrot
A man goes into a pet shop to buy a parrot. The shop owner points to three identical-looking parrots on a perch and says, "The parrot on the left costs $500 dollars." "Why does the parrot cost so much?" asks the man. The owner says "Well the parrot knows how to use a computer." The man then asks about the next parrot and learns that it costs $1,000 dollars because it can do everything the first parrot can do plus it knows how to use the UNIX operating system. Naturally, the increasingly startled man asks about the third parrot, only to be told that it costs $2,000 dollars Needless to say this begs the question, “What can it do?” To which the owner replies, “To be honest I have never seen it do anything but the other two call him boss!”

On a Miami to Chicago flight was a lively youngster who nearly drove everyone crazy. He was running up and down the aisle when the flight attendant started serving coffee. He ran smack into her, knocking a cup of coffee out of her hand and onto the floor.
