Dear Girlfriend, It was my sister’s year to host Christmas dinner at her house. However she sent a text to our mother, my brother, her children (who all live in the area) and mine who live out of state saying Christmas is cancelled, without speaking to me or my brother. Well Christmas may be cancelled for her but not for me and my family. Thanksgiving we made a joint decision not to get together but I am celebrating Christmas with my immediate family. My daughter and her husband whom I haven’t seen in a year are driving in with my grand baby. My son is flying in and staying through New Years. I immediately called my sister and told her that Christmas may be cancelled for her but not for me and mine. And that I will be having Christmas dinner at my house out on the patio. She became enraged and said that it was quite irresponsible of me. She is the oldest and I am the youngest. She is always trying to tell me what to do but I really don’t need her advice, if anything she needs mine. I get her not wanting to host christmas in her home. It’s smaller than mine and there would have been about 15 of us in there together with her children and mine. My mom is 66, stable, healthy, lives alone and drives. I feel she can make her own decision. She has not said anything yet but she always tries to keep the peace but tends to cater to my oldest sister who always has a problem. My brother and I usually go along to get along. I am going to call my mom and tell her my decision and let her make her own decision on what she wants to do. Am I wrong? Do you think I am acting irresponsible? Signed, Acting Irresponsibly!
Dear Acting Irresponsibly, Well if you are wrong, I am wrong too. I too am hosting Christmas dinner at my house for my immediate family. There will be 8 of us outside on the patio. I am setting up an outdoor TV and a fire pit in case it’s cool. I am so looking forward to making it the best Christmas ever in spite of COVID. When I go to the grocery store or Christmas shopping I try to get in and out as quickly as possible and to talk as little as possible. I have consciously passed on attending my friends indoor get togethers to avoid long time inside exposure to others just so I could have this time at Christmas with my family. Of course we will be wearing a mask and taking temperatures. But if there is a high temperature I will go right into momma mode using every bit of knowledge and remedies at my disposal. We will spread out while eating and wearing a mask when playing games or when in close vicinity of each other. There will be no close facial interactions such as kissing and face hugging and there will be a lot of teeth brushing, gargling and washing of hands. We will try to be as careful as we can, but we will love on each other verbally and try not to be too fearful and anal. I have done my share of traveling and going since this pandemic started. More than some and not as much as others. However, if you actively plan to have 15 or more people inside your home I would say, yes that’s irresponsible. But I believe that we all should live and let live. We are all old enough to make our own personal decisions but realize decisions have consequences. Enjoy your holiday, stay safe, wear your mask and practice social distancing.

You Heard It From ME Daryl Johnson
It’s A Thin Line This is December and hate of all things is in the air. It should be over! The Fat Lady has sung! The Electoral College has confirmed that Joe Biden is the President Elect. So my question is; “How many families and friends have separated from their normal relationships and routine? What and who were they listening to? For me personally, I have tried to understand what makes a person believe all the lies that the President of the United States continually puts out. Too many to count mind you. Inside the lies are hate filled monikers that stack on top of all the other hate filled speeches that eventually get under your skin if you’re a Democrat and into your heart if you’re a Republican. However people believe what they want to believe. Remember when Trump won the election and Democrats were crying that the Republicans and Russia stole the election. It was just four years ago. Democrats finally settled down and accepted the outcome of the election and let democracy go to work. Democrats convened a special counsel, tried Impeachment, and a few other legally sanctioned antics but in the end, democracy played out. While those that were in support of Hillary Clinton cooled their jets and did just as Mitch McConnell suggested, they went to the polls and the voters decided. Now the Republicans and the President want to overturn the will of the voters and the media is asking the question, “when will the Republican leaders stand up and challenge the antics of the President?” I can answer that, NEVER! We would never have thought that we are living in an era of our democracy being overthrown. Let’s just stop fooling ourselves. Donald Trump and
the Republican Party are willingly defying the laws of this great republic. Donald Trump has implied that he intends on staying in the White House beyond January 20th. Who’s going to make him leave? The military, I don’t think so! He has fired anyone and everyone he thinks would enforce the law, generals included. President Elect Biden, Please!! So if you’ve been listening to the right wing media, you know, FOX, NEWSMAX and that other one, then you hear all day long how the election was rigged and the presidency was stolen. By who? The voters. If you’ve been listening to the left wing media, MSNBC, CNN and NTOUCH then you would be hearing how our democracy is being destroyed. Imagine for a minute that Trump doesn’t leave the White House. Let that sink in. At that point, the country would essentially be lawless. Now keep your imagination flowing. Just think how cocky the 72 million people that voted for Donald Trump would be acting. Do we really want lawlessness in our country? We’ve seen just how one man can break up families and friends to bring out the ugliest part of us. Do we really want FOUR YEARS of 72 million people bringing out the worst in themselves because that’s what 45 brings out in most of us. No matter what side of the line you’re on, that just doesn’t feel right. You know the old song, “It’s a thin line, between love and hate”. Don’t let your hate cross the line. By The Way, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza and Happy New Year!!!!

N-Touch News Radio Welcomes Weekly Host Elder Larry Hordge Sr. is a native of West Tampa, FL and the host of the N-Touch News Radio weekly show, “Stay in the Word” airing every Tuesday at 5pm. His Florida roots lie deep as an alum of Howard W. Blake High School class of 1970 and Florida A&M University, where he joined the FAMU Marching 100 Band. In 1988, Larry Hordge Sr. began his sworn career as a St. Petersburg police officer. He was promoted to sergeant in 2001 and retired from the police department in 2016. As an officer, he was among a few who made a remarkable difference in one of St. Pete’s most troubled neighborhoods in the early 90’s by participating in a community policing initiative called the PRIDE Patrol (Police and Residents Immobilizing a Dangerous Environment). This type of policing was said to have improved perceptions of the police
and decreased levels of fear. Larry Hordge then found his niche as a community police officer. From officer to sergeant, he mentored dozens of young Black men and has always committed himself to be a part of their successes. Now, as a retired police officer, father of six, husband and Elder at Mt. Vernon Primitive Baptist Church, Larry Hordge Sr. brings a unique perspective to the table. During his weekly radio show, Elder Larry Hordge Sr. inspires and informs listeners through referencing the word of God. He breaks the Bible down line by line and makes it relevant to the times we are living in. Listeners may tune-in on their phones, computers or cars every Tuesday at 5pm by going to Ntouchnews.com or visiting the NTouch News Facebook page. Go Ahead and Get your Laugh On Say Cheese
I was driving when I first saw the flash of a traffic camera. I figured that my picture had been taken for speeding, even though I knew I wasn’t. Just to be sure, I went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly. But again the camera flashed. Thinking this was pretty funny, I drove past even slower three more times, laughing as the camera snapped away each time I drove by at a snail’s pace. Two weeks later, I got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seatbelt.
Bigger in Texas
A blind man visits Texas. When he gets to his hotel room, he feels the bed. “Wow, this bed is big!” “Everything is big in Texas,” says the bellhop. The man heads downstairs to the bar, settles into a huge barstool and orders a beer. A mug is placed between his hands. “Wow these drinks are big!” The bartender replies, “Everything is big in Texas.” After downing a few, the blind man asks where the bathroom is. “Second door to the right,” says the bartender. The blind man heads for the bathroom but accidentally enters the third door, which leads to the swimming pool, and he falls in. Popping his head up from under the water and flailing his arms, he shouts, “Don’t flush, don’t flush!”
Ocean Full of Beer
Two men are adrift in a lifeboat for days. While rummaging through the boat’s provisions, one of the men stumbles across an old lamp. When he touches it, a genie comes forth. This particular genie, however, states that she can deliver only one wish, not the standard three. Without giving much thought, one man blurts out, “Make the entire ocean into beer!” The genie claps her hands and the entire sea turns into brew. The other man looks disgustedly at the one who made the wish and says, “Nice going! Now we’re going to have to pee in the boat.” Page 10
Cast Away
A Christian man was stranded on a desert island for 20 years when a navy ship finally spots him. The captain comes ashore and notices three huts. “What are they used for?” the captain asks. “Well, the hut on the left is where I live,” says the man. “and the one on the right is where I go to church.” “So what about that hut in the middle?” The man sneers, “That’s the church I used to attend!”
Par for the course
The police are called to an apartment and find a woman standing over a lifeless man, holding a bent and twisted five-iron. The detective asks, “Is that your husband?” “Yes,” replies the woman. “Did you hit him with the golf club?” “Yes, I did,” sobs the woman. “How many times did you hit him?” asks the detective. “I don’t know,” she replies. “Five, six, maybe seven times. Oh look, just put me down for five.”
Misfortunate Pirate
Two pirates, Morty and Sol, meet in a bar. Sol has a patch over one eye, a hook for a hand, and a wooden peg leg. “Ye gads, matey,” says Morty. “What happened to ya?” Sol says, “Me pirate ship was attacked, and a lucky shot lopped off me leg. So now I got me a wooden peg.” “And yer hand?” asks Morty. “When me ship sank, a shark bit me hand off. So now I got me a hook.” “OK, but what’s with the eye patch?” “I was standin’ on a dock, and the biggest seagull I ever saw poops right in me eye.” “But ya don’t go blind from no seagull poop.” “True,” says Sol. “But it was me first day with the hook.
The Sniper
What’s the one thing snipers can’t tell their wives? I missed you this morning.
Three wishes
Walking along the beach, a man finds a bottle. He rubs it and instantly, a genie appears. “I’ll grant you three wishes,” the genie says. “There’s just one condition. I’m a lawyer’s genie, so for every wish you make, every lawyer in the world gets the same thing, only double.” After thinking a moment, the man says, “For my first wish, I would like $10 million.” “Lawyers will get $20 million,” the genie reminds him. “What else do you want?” “I’d love to have a red Porsche,” he says. Instantly, the car appears on the beach. “What’s your last wish?” “Well, I’ve always wanted to donate a kidney.”
Brown Bears
A Canadian park ranger is giving some ramblers a warning about bears, “Brown bears are usually harmless. They avoid contact with humans so we suggest you attach small bells to your rucksacks and give the bears time to get out of your way. However, grizzly bears are extremely dangerous. If you see any grizzly-bear droppings leave the area immediately.” “So how do we know if they’re grizzly bear droppings?” asks one of the ramblers. “It’s easy,” replies the ranger. “They’re full of small bells.
Condemned Man
A man is on trial for armed robbery. The jury comes back with the verdict. The foreman stands, clear his throat and announces, “Not guilty.” The defendant leaps to his feet. “Awesome!” he shouts. “Does that mean I get to keep the money?”
Ultimate Doom
After a husband and wife have a heated argument, the wife calls her mother. “He fought with me again! I’m coming over to live with you.” To which her mother replies, “No, no, darling. He must pay for his mistake. I’m coming to live with you.”
Anti-Aging Formula
A woman walked up to an elderly man rocking in a chair on his porch. “I couldn’t help noticing how happy you look,” she said. “What’s your secret for a long, happy life?” “I smoke three packs of cigarettes a day,” he said. “I also drink a case of whisky a week, eat fatty foods and never exercise.” “That’s amazing,” the woman said. “How old are you?” “Thirty-six.”
Powerful Motivator
The teenager lost a contact lens while playing basketball in his driveway. After a brief, fruitless search, he gave up. His mother took up the cause and within minutes found the lens. “How did you do it?” he asked. “We weren’t looking for the same thing,” she explained. “You were looking for a piece of plastic. I was looking for $150.”
A pessimist and An Optimist
There once were twin boys, age six, that had developed extreme personalities. One was a pessimist and the other a total optimist. Concerned, their parents took them to a psychiatrist. First, the psychiatrist treated the pessimist. Trying to brighten his outlook, the psychiatrist took him to a room filled with toys. But instead of yelping with delight, the little boy burst into tears. “What’s the matter?” the psychiatrist asked. “Don’t you want to play with any of the toys?” “Yes,” the little boy bawled, “but if I did I’d only break them.” Next, the psychiatrist treated the optimist. Trying to dampen his out look, the psychiatrist took him to a room piled to the ceiling with horse manure. But instead of wrinkling his nose in disgust, the optimist climbed to the top of the pile, and began gleefully digging out scoop after scoop with his bare hands. “What are you doing?” the baffled psychiatrist asked. The little boy replied, “With all this manure, there must be a pony in here somewhere!”
