The Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) grew out of an initiative started by the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce back in the late 1970s and aims toinspire young people to discover their potential in business andinlife.

YES is an opportunity for students to unleash their inner entrepreneur and experience the start-up world first-hand. It is an experiential programme where students set up and run a real business. Each YES company creates their own product orserviceandbringsthistomarket.
There are four YES Challenges that eachcompanyneedstocomplete.

Challenge3–Sales&Promotion
Challenge4–AnnualReview
Students compete regionally and nationallyinthesechallenges.

To get work-ready and worldready!
By setting up and running their own business they will develop a range of important skills that will help in their careers and in life including problem solving, resilience, teamwork, leadership, creative thinking, decision-making andnetworking.

Every year, more and more students use their YES business to make a positive social or environmental change, mixing profitwithpurpose.
Therearegreatprizestobewon!
There is over $20,000 in national prize money to be won and plenty of other prizes available in each region. Maybe you want to win a Regional Award, orbe the Regional Champion or the National YES CompanyoftheYear?
Throughout the programme students engage with the local business community. Coaches, mentors, advisors and suppliers all contribute to the learning experience.
All students that complete YES (Challenges 1-4) will receive the YESmicro-credentialon their NZQARecordofAchievement.
And if your school offers YES as part of a timetabled Business Studies course, they will be able to gain NCEA achievement standards at either level2orlevel3.
