Thanks to your support, Childline delivered almost 188,000 counselling sessions last year. You helped create safe spaces for young people to talk about their worries, including mental health, difficulties at school and family relationships.
Some of the worries and problems children talk about today - online bullying, pressures of social media - didn’t even exist when Childline began 38 years ago.
“Thank you… for being the first place to actually listen to me, just having someone listen has helped so much.”
Young person, 17
How can young people understand healthy behaviours in relationships? How can they get help from a trusted adult if they need it?
Over 4,000 Talk Relationship courses have been completed by teachers since September 2022. Teachers have also downloaded 30,500 lesson plans, helping young people to feel confident about exploring sensitive topics.
Many young people are learning about relationships, sex and sexuality on social media, search engines and websites.
During 2024, we received over 800 registration forms for our Talk Relationships Whole School Approach framework from UK schools. With your support, we aim to get even more teachers and pupils involved in 2025.
“I am more comfortable with delivering sex and relationships curriculum and more confident in how to respond to difficult questions.”

Since we launched PANTS, parents have had over 7 million conversations with their children to help keep them safe. Last year, we sold almost 21,800 Pantosaurus books and our Talk PANTS film had almost 5 million views.
With your support we’ll continue to take our message far and wide to reach more children. In 2025, you’ll help us grow our resources for teachers too, so they have age-appropriate lesson plans, presentations and activities.

“I found it so empowering to have these really clear messages to use with my five-year-old.”
