The award-winning Atlantic String Quartet is comprised of the principal string players of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. The current members of the quartet are Heather Kao and Nancy Case-Oates – violins, Kate Read – viola, and Nathan Cook, principal cellist. The ASQ is an integral part of the creative life of the St. John’s community and is known for its versatility and ability to work with music and musicians from all styles and genres. The ASQ performs around the province and each season presents a 4-concert recital series.
Recital 1 with the ASQ features Quartet for Strings in One Movement, op.89 by Amy Beach; String Quartet no. 2, op. 26 by E. W. Korngold; and, String Quartet op. 18, no. 6 by L. Beethoven.
Recital 1 with the ASQ takes place at 8pm on Sunday October 1, 2023 at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall.
