Parking woes We wouldn’t have predicted it when the year started, but parking was one of the hottest issues of 2025. People, evidently, have strong feelings about where they can store their vehicle and how much it should cost them. To raise cash, West Vancouver council began charging visitors more than $5 per hour to park in Ambleside Park, though West Van residents could apply for an exemption. The Ambleside and Dundarave Business Improvement Association warned this would send drivers looking for free street parking in the already congested commercial areas and implored council for an alternative. Just two weeks later, business owners gave council an earful, saying they were losing thousands of dollars per day.
