Unfortunately, socialisolationandloneliness arecommonexperiences inour communities.A staggering 69%ofCanadians report knowing someonewho is chronicallylonely. Lonelinessisalsoa public health issue. When it comes to saving energy in your home, your windows are one area where you can make an enormous difference in cooling and heating costs. Our moist cool climate means that having Energy Star rated windows isn’t enough They must be installed properly to get an effective seal.
Darrell Akune and the team at Northshore Windows always take the time to make sure you get the most out of upgrading your windows.
“Consumers should focus their attention on how their windows and doors are being installed,” says Darrell.
“Typical window replacement companies usea quick and easy installation method that makes it difficult to ensure the product is properly sealed We like to take the time to explain different installation methods to our customers because once educated, people realize the importance of proper installation.”
glass units, thermally efficient spacer bars between the glass rather than the typical aluminum, and low-e coatings on the glass to filter UV Combined, these components generally allowa window to meet Energy Star requirements Making sure they are sealed properly gives the windowa chance to do its job.”
Not all windows are built with the same level of quality One simple way for homeowners to get an idea for a windows quality is to check the warranty. High quality windows will offer full lifetime warranties.
“Build quality is very important to us When we researched which window and door products we wanted to offer our customers, we wanted the best available.
Buying topof theline replacementwindows canbe helpful, butmakingsurethey areinstalledproperly gives you themostfor your money. “ “
After examining what was available in the marketplace and determining which manufacturer could provide us and our customers with the best product while still providing good value, it became very apparent why they were able to offera true lifetime warranty.”
Buying top of the line replacement windows can be helpful, but making sure they are installed properly gives you the most for your money.
“It doesn’t make sense to purchase an energy star rated window if the installation method is going to allow cold air to leak around the perimeter,” says Darrell “This seems to be an overlooked part of the window replacement process The most common Energy Star windows will have Argon gas filled sealed
