Descendant of Ovid Allard of Hudsons Bay Co. Loved his “maple leaf forever.” Was/is loved with much affection by his niece Naydeen.

He was stationed in San Diego before serving in Japan.

Joined the army at age 17 in 1943.

He trained at Camp Borden, Ontario as a Machine Gunner. Chuck was on Embarkation leave when V.E. Day was declared May 7, 1945.

March 24th 1924-December 16th 2006 Served in the Canadian Army World War II, 2nd Field Regiment, 10th Battery First Canadian Division 1942-1946 front line service as a Dispatcher in Sicily and then in occupied Germany.

Ceremony and parade Monday, Nov. 11, 10:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

Victoria Park cenotaph at Keith Road and Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver

At 9:20 a.m., the JP Fell Pipe Band will march from the armories at 15th Street and Forbes Avenue, and proceed east to 15th Street across Lonsdale Avenue, southbound and up to the RCMP detachment. "% 1#22 ?<+<= %58 04(8 !?*9= /@;0 ?*9 >'8 department will proceed south on St. Georges Avenue down to the assembly point at the corner of East Keith Road and St. Georges Avenue.

Dr. Harrison served in WW2 with Canloan and was 1st Lieutenant Canadian 457, Cameronians - British 52nd Lowland Division; injured in battle in Holland.

Served with the Canadian Army during World War One. Wounded during the Battle of Vimy Ridge in Pas-de Calais, France, April 1917.

Member of the Seaforth Highlanders.

Joined US Army at age 18 in 1940.

Served with the 101st Airborne Division in England, France, Italy and Belgium. Harvey started out as a Medic, then retrained as a Paratrooper in England. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Discharged in 1947.

Served in the Canadian Army in World War II overseas and celebrated his 99th birthday on November 5, 2019.

Jean Brims Hubbard

1925 - 1970 Born 1926, Canora, Sask., Cpl., S. Alberta Regiment enlisted on her 18th birthday Tank Corps Cpl., Cdn. Women's Army Corps Tom & Jean met on a troop train from Winnipeg to army camps in 1944.

They corresponded for the two years while Tom was overseas and were married in 1947. Love Carol, Linda, Dave & families.

Edward “Jock” James

Joined the Canadian Army at age 18 in 1944. He took basic training in Saskatchewan, then switched over to the Medical Corps.

Jock was discharged in 1946.

Roy Jones

Roy Jones joined the RCAF in WW2 and later served in the tank corps.

Born and lived in North Vancouver, Roy passed away July 21, 2003; he was 77.

Member of the Princess Louise Fusiliers for three years before the war reaching rank of Sergeant. He later became a Canloan officer for the 1st Bn Worcestershire regiment. He was a prisoner of the Germans for four days and died on November 7, 1944.

Jimmy E. Johnston

Pte. Arthur George Jorgensen

Served in WW II as an RCAF Lancaster Pilot with #434 Squadron at Croft, Yorkshire. Now 95, John has lived in West Vancouver since 1966.

Joined the Canadian Army at age 21 in Nov. 1944. Trained with the #11 Platoon, C Coy Petawawa Regiment.

He was in transit on the Atlantic Ocean when the war was declared over.

British born who immigrated to Vancouver before WW I. Served in B.C.'s 29th Regiment; died in action near St. Eloi, August 11, 1916.

Buried in Belgium.

James Irvine

Died on Oct. 30, 2019 at age 91. James served in the RAF during World War II as a tail gunner. Jim was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 60, West Vancouver for over 50 years. He was a Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee awards recipient.

Nadine Joseph

After leaving St. Paul’s Residential School she volunteered at age 18 in 1941 to serve with the Canadian Women’s Corps. She trained in Vermillion, Alberta. She was stationed in Victoria until 1945.

Larry Jack

Volunteered in ’39, age 29. Served with the Westminster Regiment in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, North Africa & Italy.

Received 6 medals. Served with the 5th Canadian Division, under the 8th British Army.

Roman Clark Joseph

Late Master Corporal 'Jo-Jo' 'Roboy' 'Romes'.

August 25, 1968-October 11, 2018.

Flight Lieutenant Robert Keetley

He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the WW 11.

He served in the Atlantic arena flying over the supply ships all the way to Iceland on sub patrols. Flight Lieutenant Keetley passed away at 93 yrs.

1888-1945 Joined the Princess Patricia Light Infantry in 1916 and served at Vimy Ridge, Ypres and during the last hundred days of World War 1. He was awarded the Military Cross and Bar by King George V in 1919. Albert was the uncle of the late Jack McMahon of North Vancouver.

Flight Lieutenant Ian Ralph Mills

Gordon was the youngest son of Arthur; served with the Allies in SA Air Force.

His was one of five aircraft that did not return from a bombing raid over Romania and died June 29, 1944. He received several awards posthumously.

1893-1984 Served two years with the Winnipeg Rifles’ “Little Devil Regiment” in France during WWI. Missing you still, grandpa.

Served with the Canadian Army in France during WWI. Killed in action May 20, 1917.

Served in the Royal Canadian Army in WWII as a Tank Gunner in the 28th Armoured Regiment. Fought in the invasion of Normandy to liberate France. Always remembered, always missed.

When her brothers all joined up, Joan left university and joined the civilian staff at the Admiralty Signals office in Cape Town for the duration of the war. She survived and married Donald’s friend in 1945. Joan passed away in 2017 at age 95 in Cape Town.

After serving in the Prime Minister’s Office in Ottawa, William deployed to Panjwai District, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan in 2010 as an army platoon commander on Operation Athena.

Served with the Commonwealth forces in the British Columbia 47th Canadian Infantry in Europe; was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for bravery at Passchendaele in 1917. He lived on the North Shore with his wife and four children after the war.

Volunteered at age 18 in 1941. He served with the Sea Forth Highlanders in Italy and France. Milton drove a supply truck in the convoys and was also an ambulance driver. He was wounded when his truck went over a land mine.

Ian was the second oldest son of Arthur; served with the Allied forces in the Rhodesian and South African Air Forces, the Royal Air Force and the Canadian Air Force in WWII. Ian passed away in 2012 at age 94 on Quadra Island.

Henry Ferguson Lopez

Donald was the oldest son of Arthur served with the Allied forces in the South African Engineers Corps in Africa and Egypt in WWII. Donald died in Cape Town in 2008 at 90 years of age.

Donald Moody

Volunteered in ’42 age 22 with the Algonquin Regiment in England, Belgium, France and Germany. Was stretcher bearer in Medical Corps when wounded & his buddies killed.

Later recalled a dream his friends were calling him to go with them.

On November 11th we will remember.

Volunteered at age 33 in 1943 with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He arrived in Liverpool on Jan. 17, 1945, on the SS Mauritania. In the early morning hours he heard the bombing of V-2 rockets in the distance. Peter served in England for 20 months.

Andy Natrall

Private 826846 B.C. Bantams.

Andy volunteered at age 18 in 1917.

He trained as a sniper/gunner and his accuracy was 90 percent.

Cpl. Willard Pat

Joined the US Marine Corp. in 1989.

Willard did his basic training at Camp Pendleton, CA. He Served at 29 Palms, CA. In 1991 he served 88 days in the 1st Gulf War and was discharged in March of 1993.

Flight Lieutenant J. Warren Rothenbush D.F.C. Pilot instructor in Calgary then overseas flying Halifax and Lancaster bombers with 434 Bluenose Squadron R.C.A.F. Completed 30 missions before flying his Lancaster, the “Lady Jane,” back to Canada at wars end.

On November 11th we will remember.

1920 to 2005. Served in the Canadian Army during WWII. Member of 16th L.A.A. Battery, RCA. Beloved father, remembered by his 8 children and wife of 59 years.

Served with Sherbrooke Fusiliers, 27th Armored Div. in France, Holland & Germany.

Received the Croix de Guerre w/ Crimson Star in ’47. “For exceptional service rendered during the war for the liberation of France.” The medal was the highest military award for Gallantry in Action.

Private Norman Walker Sgt Rochford Underhill

Served in the RAF as a Link Trainer during World War II, 1940 to 1946.

Lived to the ripe old age of 95. What a life!

Volunteered in ’42, at 20 w/ the Royal Highland Regiment of Canada in England, France, Holland and Italy.

Wounded carrying a message across front lines. Slept for 3 days, awoke with scars on hip where doctors removed shrapnel. Received 7 medals.

Philip Zastre

Rifleman with Royal Winnipeg Rifles at age 24, Pigeon Lake MB. Killed in the evening of D-Day, laid to rest in war cemetery, Calvados Beny-SurMer France. RIP Uncle Philip.

R.C.A.F., Squadron 434. Served in WW II. Was shot down over Germany, was a P.O.W 1943-1945.

Currently enjoys living in the lower Lonsdale area.

Served in the Royal Canadian Navy 963-1965. Weapons Underwater on the HMCS Skeena, Qu’Appelle and New Glasgow.

North Vancouver resident proudly served in the Second World War and was the last living member of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion in this area. Long-standing legion member of Branch #8 Bornewest and Branch #118 North Vancouver. Died in February 2018 at age 93.

Jam"! Thomas

Enlisted with US Marine Corps in 1986. Stationed in Camp Lejeune N. Carolina, 6th Marines, 2nd Marine Div. where he was a TOW Gunner. 3 months in Panama. Medals – Good Conduct & Rifle Expert. Honourable discharge in September 1990.
