p The Matich family’s fishing boat Bona-Dea sailed into Dargaville last Friday with a fresh catch of flounder from the Kaipara Harbour, tying up to the dock to meet a long line of locals keen for a traditional fish supper. Despite blustery winds on the Northern Wairoa River, a queue formed from the dock to the pontoon to secure flounder from Zach and Silvia Matich, who represent the fourth generation fishing under that long-established family name. The very successful flounder run was part of Dargaville’s monthly market day, organised under the auspices of the NWBC.
