p From the roar of the big diesels at the tractor pull through to the aroma of freshly sizzled steak from a caravan-side grill, last week’s Northland Field Days provided a feast for the senses, as well as some clever innovations for farmers and a chance to scope out the latest in technology, which drives the rural sector. Despite dry conditions, many patrons and companies present have reported a financially buoyant field days, which once again cemented its place as Northland’s biggest outdoor event across a three-day run on March 5, 6 and 7. While election year politics were much discussed, family fun was also to the fore, with lots to see, do, taste, sample, experience and learn.
