p The pink ribbon breakfast held at the Northern Wairoa Boating Club saw more than 130 breakfasts catered for. “Barb Miller from the breast clinic in Whangarei spoke on the importance of breast screening and self checking. We raised more than $3,100 for the cause,” said organiser Sue Crump. “The ‘buy a book’ table and spot prizes proved to be popular. The support of Bayleys Real Estate, the ladies from the Lions Club and other community members helped make the event the success it was. We know it is hard financially for some and we appreciate the help they gave.”
