A wallowing good time p Ninety-two participants didn’t mind getting their hands, and everything else, dirty to help Otamatea High School’s Team One Netball team get to their tournament in September. The event raised more than $1,700. “We had a fantastic day for the Mud Run, blessed with beautiful weather and entries far exceeded our expectations. Thanks to many local Maungaturoto businesses that sponsored prizes and Pak ’n Save Whangarei donated drink bottles and a voucher, which went to the refinery team for coming in first. We had great feedback and look forward to holding it again next year,” said organiser Kim Allen. From left to right: Margaret Alcock, Daniel Alcock, Laura Burrell and Olivia Alcock (front).

Our caretaker reports that a camper complained that he had a tyre slashed during his overnight stay and had found a broken knife blade on
the ground nearby. The incident was reported to police.’ Dargaville resident, Alan Morgan, says “The new LED street lights are very dull and should not be used as they do not give out enough light. continued on page 3 …
